I used this lip balm for several years, and can attest to its effectiveness. I love that it uses natural ingredients and has light flavors. It smells amazing, as it uses peppermint essential oil. It glides on my lips smoothly and leaves them feeling so nourished with a cooling sensation. Unlike most other lip balms I have tried this one has a smooth buttery texture that melts into my lips and isn't waxy. One drawback I have noticed is that while it provides immediate relief, the peppermint flavor seems to dry my lips out over time as I rely more on the lip balm. I'd have to try other flavors to see if that eliminates the issue.

I swear I am not being paid to write this; it is illegal to praise a product in this way with payment without disclosure! This chapstick is ONLY made up of natural moisturizers, combined with beeswax for protection (instead of vaseline) and vitamin E. Check the ingredients list. The reason it grows mold is that it also contains no preservatives (which is great for people like me, who are sensitive to many preservatives). The solution: add vinegar (any kind: white vinegar, apple cider, etc.) or rosemary oil, and do NOT apply directly to the lips. Apply it to your finger and rub it on. Natural and/or homemade beauty products like this COMMONLY grow mold. It does not make them unsafe, it is honestly just an unfortunate side effect of a good thing.

I used to be addicted to Vaseline lip ā€œbalmā€ and it completely destroyed my natural lip barrier and their ability to create their own oils. I quit all chapstick, and this is all I use now! It’s only simple ingredients that won’t ruin your lips. The people saying it doesn’t work for them probably use weird products with petroleum that don’t allow this to absorb. Also, I saw other reviews about mold, which I had never heard and haven’t experienced! So I looked up my order, and I ordered 2 in December of 2021 and I just now finished the one stick and still have the other. I’ve never once seen mold, so that’s interesting. I wondered if it was a change of formula, but older reviews mention it too. Maybe a bad batch? Either way, I’m going to reorder!

Finally a Non-irritating replacement for Virtuoso
1 November 2023

I guess I have super sensitive lips, as I have now tried at least 6 lip balms to replace the Virtuoso I used for years! I've compared:1. Dr Bonnors Naked Organic Lip Balm (**THE WINNER!!**) A wet balm but not as wet as Vaseline brand balms. ZERO burning and stinging, YAY! No detectable scent or flavor, just pure dry lip relief. So this is my replacement for discontinued Virtuoso.2. Badger Unscented lip balm (my 2nd choice, seems to have a slight sent, not as wet as Dr. Bonners Naked balm).3. Burt's Bees (okay, but too dry like Chapstick).4 .Ecos (great fruity taste, burns lips).5. Naturestick (too dry, pulls on lip skin just putting it on, like Chapstick which I don't like at all - returned).6. Nivea plain (burned lips slightly, scented with a light perfume ...Ā MoreI guess I have super sensitive lips, as I have now tried at least 6 lip balms to replace the Virtuoso I used for years! First reacted to the lemon lime flavor, now this
9 May 2024

I loved the peppermint and wanted to branch out. Unfortunately, citrus peel oils are proving to be a problem for me. The first time using this I thought it was heavy on the ginger, but it was the orange peel oil causing a burn. The lemon lime flavor caused a greater reaction faster, and now the same bad reaction is happening with the orange ginger: lips that burning, swelling, numb, tingling and itchy. I believe it is the citrus peel oils causing the reaction and not another ingredient. The unscented tastes like olive oil, which I find gross.

Gets moldy fast
25 October 2023

I really like this product because it’s natural ingredients. Hydrates well. However the last 2 I’ve purchased I’ve noticed what I thought was dirt and grime getting caught in the middle hole. I threw my last one away because of this and then tonight I checked the newer one I’ve been using for a month or so and saw dirt all around the rim of the cap. Then it dawned on me….mold. I’m wondering if this is why I’ve been struggling with allergies more than normal. Talk about being grossed out. Gosh. Now I’ll be checking my chapsticks more frequently but sucks I’ve got to throw away a product that’s not even half used.

Great Lip Balm!
19 October 2023

This was a first try for me, and I prefer it over other leading brands. The only thing that threw me off was that the tube was ever so slightly slimmer than your standard lip balm tube, but it still did the job, and the dial also doesn’t become loose when I carry it in my pocket. It doesn’t take much to cover the lips, either, so it has a much longer life than other lip balms I’ve tried. I also don’t feel the need to apply it as frequently. Will definitely purchase again and try other scents. I hope they make more and offer variety packs or bundles.

I also use it to wash dishes are used it in a 8 ounce bottle of distilled water just a dropper to to clean stainless steel and countertops, I use it with apple cider vinegar in another bottle to actually wash windows . It’s a great all purpose product and I could go on and on and I use it on my floors it’s just perfect. It’s the first time I bought the Chapstick, and of course I love it too. It is wonderful. I love the smell the texture it’s moisturizing. I’m really glad I took the risk and gave it a try.

I hate to have to give this 5/5 stars because I love this lip balm so dang much. Whenever it’s sold out or I go to a target that doesn’t carry it, it feels like my whole world is falling apart. I have so many of these; one in my work shirt, purse, night stand, and have even gotten them for my boyfriend. I suffer from chapped lips in the winter and heat and even worse that I have a terrible habit of licking my lips causing my lips to chap even more. This lip balm is perfect for my sensitive skin/lips, has the perfect peppermint hint (even the regular no scent one is just as amazing), it applies to smoothly, and I even use it on my eyelids to wake me up at work. I have gifted this chapstick to so many people, and Target usually has a buy 3 get one free promo for this. ...Ā MoreI hate to have to give this 5/5 stars because I love this lip balm so dang much.
