I bought this 5 months ago and literally just finished the bottle. So at first I wasn’t a fan and thought I was going to return it, but after giving it a few more tries I ended up loving it. I think that it must’ve been in a hot truck when it was delivered because the soap was so thin it was coming out as soon as I took off the lid. But after a few days it thickened up and it lathers very well. I also feel good knowing it has no bad chemicals in it. Next to no smell, if anything a little earthy. It does have that “dry squeaky skin” effect after using it but doesn’t last long. And again you only have to use a little bit and it goes a long way. It's very runny and surprisingly reddish in color. It keeps running out of the dispenser, even when it's tightened and closed. It made my bathroom cabinet, countertops and tub look like a crime scene. The packaging is very flawed. It needs to be in a soap type dispenser with the product coming out of the top of the package. No matter how much I tighten the bottom, it keeps leaking out everywhere. Probably going to throw it out. I've been using my toxic shaving cream instead because it doesn't make a mess.

I went to squeeze a little on my hand and it just ran all over the place. So you have to squeeze it into your hand - then try to rub it on your beard area that way. Just made a mess. Once it's on your face it's pretty much clear, so you really can't tell if you have really applied it everywhere. Which of course makes it hard to 'find your place' as you shave. I’ve been trying to swap out my products for a healthier lifestyle and came across this shaving soap. It works well, but you have to really shake the tube before each use or else it will be too runny. It’s already a very runny product. The cooler temperatures of winter seemed to help it firm up. Be sure you’re fully closing the lid each time to avoid any leaking.It lathers up nicely and allows the razor to glide smoothly. No residue is caught in the razor.There is a natural scent to the soap when you use it, but it doesn’t stick with you once rinsed off with water.
Recently, you raised the price from 10.99 to 15.99. It’s great, but not that great. That’s a steep, steep raise! And, everyone else is still selling it for 5$ cheaper. This product can be inconsistent. Sometimes it’s no different than the lavender soap; sometimes, it’s much thicker and then is amazing. When it’s too thin you lose much of it down the drain when you are squeezing it out. I won’t be buying this here anymore, but I’ll probably still use it.
This is essentially "sugar soap" and it is THE EXACT SAME product as Dr. Bronners 4-in-1 sugar soap. Difference is that the 4-in-1 has a pump where this is a bottle. I bought my first shave soap from whole foods and I really loved it on my hypersensitive and hyper reactive skin. I bought a refill here and my product is the same consistency as frozen honey - it will not spread or lather; and this is with attempting to warm the product up. I did buy the 4-in-1 soap thinking it was different, given it's not, I will just use that to shave and wash my face instead. I have unscented and I do love it.
The peppermint shaving soap is a bit better than the others offered to me. The peppermint seems to soothed my skin more. My face is a bit sensitive when I save. I wanted to fine a healthier shaving gel/soap that was without harmful endocrine disrupting chemicals. This product is great to me, the only downside to it I would say is it doesn’t stay fluid or wet long in your skin. The product starts to dry out quickly. It’s all probably due to it being an all natural product. My girlfriend and I use the bar soaps as well and liquid soap they offer. We absolutely love them. Dr. Bronners is an awesome company as well and care about their employees.
I bought this because it was supposed to be unscented and really good. I used it one time and threw the tube away because it smelled so bad. Initially it smelled a little like brown sugar and was brown and thick when it came out of the tube. However the smell seemed to get worse and worse. It also was not near as good as Kiss My Face for smooth shaving. I got 2 nicks with Dr B but very rarely with KMF. I hurried to take a shower and get this stuff off. Then, while showering, I started to smell something like liver. I smelled my hands and they smelled like raw liver. This is bad Bronner people. Was this a fluke? I don't know but it was terrible. When I first got the shaving soap, I was trying to apply it with my hand and it was a total mess and ran all over – a lot was wasted – and I had a really hard time getting a decent lather. Then I talked to someone at Dr. Bronner’s who suggested I try applying it with a shaving brush. I found a brush & bowl set online for a reasonable price, and it made all the difference in the world. You want to soak your brush with hot water, pour some shaving soap into the bowl, lather the soap thoroughly with circular motions, and then once you’ve got a good warm lather, apply & massage it with the brush evenly across your face, again using circular motions. I had to experiment some with technique and with the quantity of soap used, and of the water in the ... MoreI love this product! I've just switched over to using all natural products that are good for your body rather than the generic store brands that are easy to use but have chemicals.It's important to know that before you read the review. This product is basically a brown liquid. So it's very runny. Ideally this kind of product would have different packaging like a pump because it's very hard for me to not get it everywhere.The product itself does work well. Totally handles any skin irritation and Im very happy with that aspect.Sadly the brown runny liquid part will make me want to find an equally healthy product that isn't this one unless the packaging can be changed.
