I was fitted with Medela nipple shields at the hospital. The first one was too small and hurt me more than it helped. The second one was just right. Madela shields requires me to kind of flip them inside out to suction them on. The tip is pretty big and would fill up with milk and my baby would choke a lot using them. It was also a mess when it was time to take it off or if the nipple shield lost suction because so much milk sat in the nipple shield. There are fewer holes. So what makes Dr Browns great? It was super easy to put on. It stuck to my skin no problem and didn’t fall off or lose grip. This also meant the silicone wasn’t closing off my baby’s nostril which happens a bit with madela and she would pull away from me while eating so she could breathe. Dr browns shield has more holes which means baby gets more milk and I feel like less sits in the nipple. And because the tip of the nipple shield isn’t as long it doesn’t fill up with milk. The added bonus to all this is the case for storage and sterilizing! So much thought was put into this nipple shield I would absolutely recommend it to any moms needing a nipple shield to breast feed!

These shields by Dr Brown's are very comfortable to use and I love that they come with a sterilizer case. This sterilizer case is easy to use. It goes right into the microwave and kills bacteria, mold and yeast. I have had thrush a hand full of times since breastfeeding my baby and this sterilizer case works great at making sure it doesn't come back because it is much more clean and sanitary. The shields have more holes so my milk flows well. They are very thin and comfortable to wear. Made with 100 percent silicone. They fit perfect for me. Overall, I think this sheild and sterilizer set is perfect and would highly recommend it.

We'd been using the madela nipple shields and our daughter would take them but she'd get frustrated with the flow of it. My let down is strong and I would often have wasted milk because the nipple shield from Madela wouldnt allow a fast enough flow. Not the case with Dr.Browns! Dr. Browns nipple shields allowed us to have a free flow and less interruptions. Made everyone happy. Wont use any other nipple shields now!

I have been selected to try out the nipple shields and they came after a few weeks. Im a first time mom and my baby is sensitive with milk as he spits up everytime. He’s on formula and breastfed aswell but he has difficulties in latching at times, the nipple shields was a great help as my baby latches easily and reduces his frustrations everytime we feed. It also provides relief from sore nipples apart from using just a lanolin cream. So far it works the way how i expected it to be. Excellent product.
My son has used a nipple shield since birth and is now 8 months old- we have tried every type/brand of shields there are! I love the material this one is made of, much thinner and more skin-like than the thick silicone one they give you in the hospital. I like that the nipple is more square/flat than others I have tried. Had I gotten this shield earlier in our breastfeeding journey, I think it would have made weaning off the shield available to us with its shape and material. Will definitely be purchasing these shields for our next little one. I like the carrying/cleaning case, but wish it was just for one shield, not two- it’s a little too bulky.
I received the nipple shields and case about two weeks ago as a free sample to test out the product. I absolutely love that they come with the sterilizing case! Very easy to use and serves its purpose of keeping them clean. The shields themselves really molded very nicely to my breasts and were extremely comfortable to wear. They stayed on and did not slip off which has been a problem I have had in the past with other brands I have tried. My only negative is the actual nipple area. It was a little stiff and oddly shaped. My son was a little thrown off by it. He ended up adjusting though after the first two sessions and had no problem latching on after that.
I got this shield and it is a little harder to use then the few others I have tried once you get used to it its fine. I love the case it comes with makes sterilizing and storage great! It is thin and flexible which is nice. It is a little hard to get on and to stay on i found wetting the back and then flipping it over and applying it that way worked the best. I do not like that there are no directions included, I know how to use a shield but if a first time mom had never used one it would be extremely helpful to have proper directions, I would give it a full 4 stars if they gave proper directions on how to use.
The Dr. Brown’s Nipple shield with the sterilizing case is awesome for those nursing. I use a little nipple cream to help them stick on good before latching baby. The nipple shield is very helpful for those who have flat nipples, fast letdowns, infants with tongue ties, etc. The sterilizing case is super easy to use as the instructions are very easy. The shield washes easily with soapy water and doesn’t get sticky after multiple uses. There is also two nipple shields that come in this set. Overall, the Dr. Brown’s nipple shield and sterilizing case are great for nursing moms.
I have tried medela both 24 and 20 mm, mam and these. Mam are our favorite, not that we dislike the medela ones but I find mam had the most skin to nose/face contact. I REALLY wanted to like these. I liked the feel of them, thinner than the previously two mentioned brands. However, they just had an odd fit for me. Almost too pointy, especially when breasts were engorged large and round. If the fit changed I would 1000% try again. Love/hate relationship with the case. We’re battling thrush so I sterilize everything together and didn’t use it for that. I found the case large and unnecessary for my situation, but then had an aha moment and I just store all the shields I have in it and tossed the other cases.
These don't hold their structure like other shields I tried. I'm not sure who would prefer these because they are so thin the shape doesn't hold. they end up serving as a barrier but do not provide an easier latch for baby.
