Dr Dennis Gross - Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel (60 Treatments)

Okay so I am not going to lie, I was really scared to try these. I had a chemical peel in 2016 that caused serious PIH which I believe triggered melasma and needless to say, I was scared of trying anything with the word “peel.” I had tried lasers which helped initially and then didn’t. I decided to start up my skincare regimen again which entails numerous tyrosine inhibitors and even though it is common knowledge that you need to somewhat “exfoliate” to allow for better penetration of topicals, I thought this would destroy my face with everything else I was using. My only regret is that I didn’t try these sooner- I wish I had photos to show you but I was so horrified by how bad my skin had gotten (pigmentation and texture) that I avoided pictures. To my surprise, this didn’t cause dryness or irritation (I also use tatcha dewy moisturizer and some oils), I felt softness in my skin after first use. After a couple of uses I really saw an improvement in skin texture and clarity of my skin. I use it in the evening and wait the time specified in instructions. I then layer the rest of my topicals which include azeleic acid, naturiums zinc, meladerm, and a hydroquinone/tret/steroid compound that I formulate myself. I wake up to soft, clear, healthy looking skin everyday. Despite using other powerful actives, My skin wouldn’t look the way it does without this product. My skin was rough, bumpy, my pores looked large- and this has literally transformed my skin (didn’t even notice the lasers helped like this). I use them almost every day. Some days I skip a day, rarely do I ever skip 2 days. I can see the buildup of oil around my nose and crease in chin when I don’t use these. Seriously, life changing!!!

This is an amazing product! It is a two step treatment that is applied with two pads soaked with product. The first pad contains acids that exfoliate the skin, providing users with a daily facial peel. This step reduces breakouts, blackheads and it minimizes pores. The second pad contains anti-aging ingredients that reduce fine lines and wrinkles, as well as correcting hyperpigmentation. I have very dry and sensitive skin, so I was worried that this product would irritate and dry out my skin. This treatment does cause dryness, but I have been able to counteract it with a rich moisturizer. I recommend using it every other day, biweekly or weekly if you have sensitive skin. I initially received this product at a spa conference where I fell in love with it. I was skeptical of something calling itself a peel and usually stick to products I could find in nature but I had intentions of smoothing my skin texture, reducing hyperpigmentation and ingrown hairs on my chin.My current regimen is using Dr.Gross cleanser daily and using the peel pads 1-2 times a week. I make sure to not use another mask, exfoliator, peel or toner within two days of the peel. If I do, then I will see irritation. For example, if I use the peel pads on Monday then I want exfoliate or peel again until Thursday. This way my skin gets time to heal and does not get inflamed. Amazing product!!

I don’t normally write reviews but I needed to share how amazing this product is. I’m getting married in 2 weeks, I’ve had perfect skin all of my life then all of the sudden I started getting this huge inflamed breakouts on my face. Nothing I’ve done has worked to get rid of them. Well, my mom treated me to these pads along with the AHA/BHA daily cleanser and I used it just ONCE so far and the acne that has been on my cheek for the last 2 weeks is finally starting to heal. Look at these pictures! The first pic was right before I used the peel pad and the second pic was the next day. Wow what a difference, at this rate my skin will be clear before the wedding! Thank you to this brand for saving me! Lol

An all-time favorite

I love this so much. I used to have very bad cystic acne as a teen that's left me with some undesirable texture on my cheeks and forehead. I used to use a physical exfoliant once a week, but I noticed that the ones I liked best had ingredients I wasn't comfortable with using anymore.I've really noticed a difference with my skin since using this. When I do break out, it sucks a lot less, and I'm a lot more likely to remember to exfoliate because it's an everyday use product. I have somewhat sensitive skin, and I really only felt a little discomfort for the first couple times.I've made several of my friends use this and WOW I cannot recommend it more.My *only* gripe is that I wish this was more environmentally friendly packaging. Best product I’ve ever tried

I have been waiting to write a review to make sure this is legit but it’s been a month and I’ve had my period in that time, so I think I can safely say THIS IS THE HOLY GRAIL OF HORMONAL ACNE TREATMENTS. Over the last 8 months or so, I’ve had hormonal acne getting worse and worse. I’m 30 and have always struggled with acne, but had it fairly under control with spironolactone and a good skin care regimen. For some reason, my hormones have been out of whack lately and it’s affected my skin, especially before my period. Deeper, cystic acne on my chin, near me nose, and around my mouth. I don’t care how expensive this is, I will literally use it forever because it’s THAT good.

Broke out my skin

I bought the pore perfecting at home kit, which included the 30-day pack of daily peels, pore perfecting serum and clenser. After the whole 30 days, my skin has gone from decently looking with my biggest concern being large pores and blackheads on my nose, to fully covered in red spots and painful pimples/whiteheads everywhere. After the first week, my skin was amazing, smooth and soft and I could see the pores becoming smaller. Then, after about 10 days I started breaking out on my forehead, chin and jaw. It was bad to the point of preferring to stay in ratehr going out to avoid people seeing it. 2/3 weeks in, I could see it starting to clear again and the pimples were slowly starting to go away, and I was considering buying again. I bought this product in January and used it every second day consistently to help my skin build up a tolerance to the product (I started on the sensitive version before moving to this). Upon using this my once clear, glowy skin broke out and not just a pimple here and there but a full blown breakout. I kept using the product as I knew there was a chance this could happen and was simply a “purge” and my skin would return to normal within 4-6weeks. Fast forward to March my skin had become so dry it was literally flaking from my face and neck, I was and still am suffering from breakouts as a result of this product. I decided to stop using the product in early April after being advised to after a facial as I was told it had damaged my skin barrier. Finally... something that works!

I have struggled with acne and scarring for the better part of the last 13 years. I've tried everything from antibiotics to topical ointments etc. I can say without a doubt, this is the best product ever. I have seen genuine results from this product. I used to have under tissue cystic acne that nothing got rid of. These pads were able to get rid of those under tissue pesky acne that doctors told me I would need to have surgically removed.In terms of scars, I have seen some fading of scars but I have to be patient and wait to get rid of years of damage.If you have any doubt about buying this product, don't. This is hands down the best acne product.

Worth the splurge and the “purge”

I’m in my mid-fifties and still prone to mild acne. After one treatment, I was convinced this was the greatest thing ever. After about 8 to 10 days I had the worst, and I mean the WORST acne I’ve had since I was a teenager. I’ve never heard a board certified dermatologist use the term “purge,” but it’s an apt description of what I experienced. The A/B peel accelerates skin cell turnover, so if you’re acne prone you do run the risk of bringing blemishes to the surface very rapidly. But the life cycle of the blemishes is also accelerated, so they’ll subside as quickly as they appear. (Oh my though, they are dramatic looking. Ugh!) My advice is to power through.
