I've been using this product twice a day consistently since purchasing it in early September of 2023. I'm writing this review on Jan 11 2024 which I think speaks to the fact that although this product is expensive, you do get your money's worth. As for the performance of the product: It makes good on each of the benefits listed on the Sephora website. My favorite way to use this product is to layer another product with an occlusive element (aka a lip balm, Cerave Healing Ointment, Aquaphor, Vaseline, etc.) as the occlusive will trap the hyaluronic acid in this product leading to less evaporation throughout the day and longer-lasting hydration. If you have the funds to buy this product and want fuller, more hydrated lips-- buy it!

I'm a big Dr DG fan, I've had some great experiences with a lot of products and had been on the hunt for something to perk my lips up. You need so little of this product; for me, I put about a pin head on the bottom lip and a pin head on the top lip and it's honestly enough to get the coverage and effect. In terms of combining it with other products, I always used it as the 'base' coat; when I completed my skincare I would use this, then give it a little while before using a lipstick. When I was in a hurry, I would put it on, head to the train station and put my lipstick on the train. Will keep using, delighted! One small word of caution; don't do skincare after applying this. I did this once and some of the product got 'outside' the main lip accidentally and it looked like I had a red patch on my chin for about an hour after!

This product gave me a huge rash after using just two times. Like a very uncomfortable, red, bumpy, raised rash. It's impossible for a glossy lip product not to end up somewhere on your face after wearing for a couple hours! It migrated to the side of my face and chin. To add insult to injury - I emailed Sephora asking for a store credit for this product and they said I have to return it instore or nothing. Now, on top of having this uncomfortable face rash, I also have to return this USED lip product? Why on earth would they need me to return it? Even Amazon will tell you to toss used lip products and give you your money back. I think this is crappy customer service. I picked this up out of curiosity quite a while back and it sat around mostly unused until I was hunting around for lip mask and decided to throw this on. I have chronically dry lips that will peel and crack if uncared for and have my entire adult life. This is the only thing I've ever used where when applied at night my lips are actually soft and hydrated throughout the next day even without product. And to my shock, I let my botox wear off a month and a half ago and it looks like I still have a lip flip. For people who say they don't notice any plumping, maybe that's only for people whose lips aren't dehydrated to begin with. I've been using this for the last 2 weeks and am absolutely in love! I read some scary reviews and saw a picture where this apparently turned someone's lips white. Needless to say, I was EXTREMELY careful at first, only applying the smallest amount to the largest parts of my lip pads. After using it a few times, I can now thoughtlessly apply as there is no stinging on my lips and the gloss does not bother my lips or the skin around them. Don't let the reviews scare you! I didn't wear a plumping gloss at all prior to purchasing this and I had zero issues. The only con- it's SO SHORT LIVED! My lips look incredible for 3-5 minutes after application but quickly return to their "normal" size. Plan on doing a lot of touch ups throughout the day/night whenever you wear this!
This is a gorgeous formula, its very hydrating on the lips. It has a really nice slip to it so its not tacky or gloopy on the lips. You get a slight tingle sensation which isn't too over powering but just enough to feel the formula is working for you. It works differently on each PH from what I can see but its a lovely tone on the lips so great to throw on going out for a little something or to use as a topper on your liner to give you that plump pout look. I use this after the LipWare Pro and it leaves the lips hydrated for the evening, but I have also kept it in my bag for day to day top up's now too. Excited to see the long term benefits as I can feel my lips are more hydrated following the last few weeks usage. My lips looked moderately plumped which is a win. I'd say it lasts 1-2 hours before the flush reduces and intensity of plump. However, the gloss itself lasts for a very long time, hours, and up close in the mirror I was expecting the plump to reduce but my lips still looked very full even without the tingling at least 2 hours later, no lines on my lips, they looked full and juicy which is hard for a gloss to achieve. Usually glosses are dehydrating and need constant reapplication, but this one I found I only needed to reapply 1-2 times after initial use and I didn't have to think of a reapplication again because the formula stayed on my lips. However side note, if you use too much on the lips it will droop from the lip, which isn't a big deal. If you reapply this after wiping your lips with a napkin you'll find it won't tingle again or cause a reaction, it's only on the first application of each day or makeup wiped lips will it do that again. I do recommend this, 4.5 stars.
