My best practices are to apply the color correcting treatment immediately after your moisturizer before it’s dried down. Sometimes I even apply an oil after my moisturizer so the Dr Jart’s blends out even easier. Don’t overdo it. You can easily apply too much and you’ll be blending it in forever Be sure to place a small dab in each area you want to reduce the appearance of redness and then blend it out with your fingers. Because I use it as a spot treatment I always follow with an SPF all over my face and typically choose something with a glow and tint to keep my face looking luminous as the finish on the color correcting treatment is quite matte. It’s very effective and a jar will last you a long time if you don’t over apply haha. Why swipe on a layer of greasy white sunscreen, a layer of pore primer or foundation to hide redness, and then spot-conceal to hide anything else when I now know this exists and works so wonderfully?!I've tried so many drugstore and nicer brand facial sunscreens over the years and just expect that anything sold in the US is greasy, doesn't play well with skin care products, and will make my skin itchy and feel dry by the end of the day. Mine arrived consistent and not separated.After skin care, I dip a cotton swab in the jar (no fingers), dab the product across my face, and blend. A little goes a long way and layers well. No pilling, no streaking. I have been shocked at how incredible it is as a pore primer. It doesn't settle in pores or fine lines either. It conceals redness like no other product I've tried. Then spot conceal anything that stands out but the finish is super natural, not heavy, and really tones down the redness. I've been using a lot less concealer after using this than after using my usual foundation or just a pore perfector and powder.The texture feels ever so slightly grainy going on but that's not a problem for me. The initial finish is a bit shiny but let it sit for like ~10 minutes and lightly dust with translucent powder - sometimes, if I'm going out or have to wear a mask. No transference and holds up really well under a mask. But a lot of the time, no powder and it doesn't feel greasy or shiny, just like my skin but better, with a little gel blush (the pink I want vs. hiding the pink I don't want). Total winner! How will it hold up in summer?

Amazing for neutralizing pale skin tones & redness

I have always struggled with finding the proper foundation shade for having a fair-light skin tone without looking like a ghost. I have sensitive skin in the sense that if touched it becomes bright red. My skin also becomes very red from working out, or just sweating in general. This product really helps neutralizing my skin, and reducing my red splotches almost completely.However, this product does not cover pimples or dark blemishes (as a reminder.) I would say this product is similar to a CC cream once worked into the skin. She explained to me that this product will let all my other makeup appear it’s ‘true’ color on my face now that I don’t have to worry about the redness of my skin.I’ve only used this product a few times, but it’s already a dream! I love that it gives a natural, dewy glow to my skin, along with covering redness. But a little powder on top makes the skin look more matte which is also gorgeous.I add: concealer under my eyes and on any other blemishes I wish to cover, blush, bronzer, and highlight. It’s so simple, and wonderful to use for a “no makeup, makeup look.”

Don't think I'll be buying this again :/

I had such high hopes for this but it's really mediocre:( I feel like this would work best for someone with not really any redness as I bought it to help cover up my fading acne scars as texture isn't an issue for me so much as the hyperpigmentation and scarring and it hardly did anything. This product doesn't absorb into the skin at all, as it sits on top to color correct, and as a result using more product won't help, it just becomes an oily mess. I have dry skin and never have a huge problem with oils but this product makes my T zone SO oily. It does look good when you first put it on but by the end of the day it for sure gets patchy, and in my experience using powder and setting spray won't keep this from happening. I'm glad I bought the smaller size because while I will use it up because I need to take a break from makeup which I'm pretty sure was giving me acne, I won't be buying it agin sadly:( And like I said before, if you struggle with mild hyperpigmentation or redness, this would be good for you but make sure you start with the smaller size instead of spending $52 on the full size. Also, I haven't had the problem yet of the product separating like some other reviews have said. I purchased my jar in October 2022.

Expected better results

I have combination skin, slightly dry in some area and also oily in others. My cheeks and nose are rosey red and have been for as long as I can remember. Helpful for mild rosacea flare ups

I purchased the mini version of this product to test it out before committing to the full size and I’m glad I did. I have a combination skin type that is both sensitive and acne prone. I was excited to test this out because I have quite a bit of redness, particularly in my t zone. While it did help neutralize the redness, I found that it was streaky in application (perhaps because I’m so pale). Unfortunately the product clung to my dry patches while simultaneously making my oily areas look extremely greasy. It worked best when applied over moisturizer and SPF, but I could not achieve a matte or even dewy look under makeup — it was just straight up grease. I also found myself having new whiteheads at the end of each day I used this product. I will say: How you apply it matters, so tiny amounts in light layers with gentle presses or strokes to blend are key. I didn't bother warming it in my hand but taking time to blend it on my face. Also, if you use ALL over you'll notice the color change is different when skin underneath is less red. Kinda obvious but I think I lot of people remarking on grayish tint either are applying too much product or are maybe not as ruddy as they think? Could certainly be other reasons, so if you can try in the store on your skin tone by all means DO.
