This is a thin clear serum that comes in an opaque cylindrical plastic dropper bottle. The opaque packaging keeps the vitamin C from oxidising, which is very important for the vitamin C to continue to be effective. The dropper is a modern pipette style, where one full drop is way too much for my face and chest. The product absorbs very easily into my skin and has a faint citrusy smell. As with all hyaluronic acid containing products, it's best to apply on damp skin and apply even more water afterwards for the product to grab onto the external moisture. On the first few applications, small parts of my skin were slightly irritated. However, after about two days, I had no more issues. It's great that this has a short ingredient list. Although, I'm very surprised this has both niacinamide and vitamin C, which are usually a recipe for redness. It's hard to say whether this product caused any noticeable redness for me, as my skin can be a bit red anyway. After about 3 weeks use, I feel my skin is more surface-hydrated. I don't think any pigmentation has reduced and I need more time assess this. Unfortunately, for $75 I expected more! That said, Dr Lewinn's does go on sale every few months at 50%, which makes the pricing a bit better.

It's only over the last 6 months or so that I've really committed to using a vitamin c serum regularly (almost every morning) and have really started seeing noticeable improvements in my skin, with a considerable reduction in redness/hyperpigmentation and my texture is starting to even out. Having finally seen the benefits of a bit c serum, I was really looking forward to trying this product after being chosen to trial it. Unfortunately, it was somewhat underwhelming. The product itself is a pretty standard serum, not being too thin or thick in consistency, and being in packaging with an interesting pipette. Unfortunately, the product doesn't have the slip of my existing vit c serum and it is very sticky almost as soon as it is applied to the skin. As for brightening, this has been maintaining my skin; I was not using this every day by the end, so can't really speak to long-term improvements, but it certainly didn't irritate my skin or undo any of the brightening that I've already encountered from my existing serum. Whilst I don't think this is a bad product, given I have a vit c + antioxidant serum that is really nice to apply without any stickiness, that absorbs quickly, has really helped my skin without irritating or dying it, and doesn't cost as much as this one does (not by a huge margin, but slightly cheaper), I was a bit disappointed in this one and won't purchase myself once I've finished this bottle.

Vitamin C is a staple of my skin routine and I wouldn't be caught going out without it. I had never used Dr. LeWinn's before so was very excited to try this product. First of all, the packaging was great, and the mechanics of the dropper were very cool (i.e. pressing the lid before removing the pipette). With a little bit of practice, it deposited just the right amount for my face. The serum itself is light and non-sticky, and absorbed very quickly into the skin. I could wear it easily under make-up without piling. The serum feels nice and refreshing on the skin with no detectable scent or fragrance. After using it for a couple of weeks my skin looks brighter and more hydrated. I would, without a doubt recommend this product to other friends and family.

I’ve been using this serum for just over a week and have noticed that my skin is feeling more hydrated and supple. I think it’s too early to comment on brightening or any other skin changes, but it’s definitely been a nice and easy addition to my morning routine since it’s lightweight and not sticky, and I’m always a fan of niacinamide and ascorbic acid. I do wish the concentration of each were available though. What I’m not a fan of are the fragrance and packaging. The scent isn’t unpleasant but it can be a bit overwhelming, lightly floral. And airless pump packaging is always better for ascorbic acid to help it stay stable. The dropper is also kind of finicky. So for the price, I’d probably want more sturdy packaging. I've been using vitamin C serums for years and this one from Dr LeWinn's is one of my favourites. It has a runny gel consistency that felt comfortable on my skin. Its lightweight but felt hydrating and comforting. I didn't get any tingling on my skin. The bottle looks smaller than my other serums, but it's 30ml just like my other serums so don't feel like you're paying more for less - other brands just use larger packaging to make you think you're getting more product. The dropper is really easy to use. Because vitamin c goes off quicker than other serums, I liked to use this both morning and night. I've found that my skin looks brighter and more even. My dark spots are starting to lighten and my skin isn't as red as it used to be. Overall I absolutely loved this serum so much that I ended up buying their hyaluronic acid serum and their retinol serum from the same collection. I was gifted a product sample to trial and review.
Hmmm. I wanted to love this one but unfortunately, that’s not totally true… Firstly, the packaging is practical but clunky. It’s good but certainly doesn't give off the luxurious vibe that I would expect for a $70 product. The product itself drops reasonably okay from the packaging. It’s a transparent, scent less product that has a gel-like texture. A lot goes a long way and I found that I only needed two drops to cover my face and neck. It sinks in to the skin quickly without leaving a tacky residue. in fact, it unfortunately doesn’t feel like wearing anything so it’s definitely something you need to go over with a hydrating moisturiser. I didn’t see a y improvement in my skin like I have other products in the past which has put me off taking the effort to use it. ... MoreHmmm. Gladly though, it didn’t cause any irritation to my skin which is getting more and more sensitive. I will give it more time and see if there are any improvements by the time I get through the bottle though before I write it off.
Packaging: I really really like this packaging! The white bottle means the serum is protected from sunlight (which can break down vitamin c serums, reducing efficacy), and the in-built large dropper means its easy to use and distributes the exact amount of serum needed. Texture: It has a bit of a strange, sticky texture at first but was absorbed into the skin incredibly quickly - much quicker than the previous serums I've used. Once it's absorbed, the skin feels hydrated and smooth with absolutely no residual stickiness. Scent: this is a scent-free product, which I LOVE. My skin is quite reactive so unnecessary scents are a risk I don't want. Efficacy: After three weeks of using this, I'm quite pleased with how it worked on my skin. My skin is quite reactive so unnecessary scents are a risk I don't want. Efficacy: After three weeks of using this, I'm quite pleased with how it worked on my skin. There's definitely been some mild improvements in pigmentation and old acne scarring, as well as overall texture improvements leading to smoother skin. It's definitely a slightly milder vitamin c serum than some others, but that means I didn't have to worry about using it in conjunction with my retinol so I could get the best of both worlds! The last time I tried using a vitamin c serum with a retinol, my skin reacted so badly that I was too scared to try again. But the Dr LeWinn formulae means you get the benefits while not having to worry about changing the rest of your skincare routine! I was gifted a product sample to trial and review.
To give some background and reference - my skin is combination oily type without any sensitivity issues, in most cases. I have used Dr Lewinn's products before and liked a few of them but sadly this one won't be getting added to that list. Turns out my skin found this to be on the side of too much. Just after first couple of days my skin started breaking out a bit and also felt little more sensitive in the sun. Considering that this might be a purge, I paused for 3 days and then resumed with just one drop of serum mixed with face oil, only at night times. For a week or so this was fine but again little red dots started appearing. For the next week, I reduced to using 2-3 times per week instead of daily - again just one drop mixed with face oil. It's been two weeks since that change and so far that has been alright. In terms of the effect, I didn't notice any major changes but you can blame that on not being able to use enough product for enough period of time. Having said that, I did try it out on elbows and knees where the skin is slightly darker and also tougher. I'm yet to see any significant results since it's been only one week but it does seem to do better on those skin patches. It can very well be just my imagination but I do feel that the tone seems to slightly brighter/lighter. Also, this serums spreads pretty easily so even for both elbows and knees, just few drops are usually enough.
I got gifted this product three weeks ago. I was sceptical about it making any difference as I always use expensive active face products on my skin but I thought, if it does the same job, at least it’s a slightly cheaper alternative to what I’m currently using! Now that I’m 37, skin products that actually make a difference have become a priority! I’ve never used niacinamide so I was curious to see if it made a difference to my red pigmentation. Honestly, the results speak for themselves. I took these photos, two weeks apart, replacing my expensive hyluaronic serum, daily, every morning, with this and followed by my regular moisturiser. I changed nothing else about my skincare other than this. Both photos are taken in the exact same light at the same time of day. I’m ... MoreI got gifted this product three weeks ago. I also use a lot of (expensive) vitamin c products and I feel my skin looks so much more glowy. My honest review? This is a game changer for me and I’m stoked I got to experience this product as I probably wouldn’t have bought it over my tried and tested other (mostly expensive) products. Will buy again. Also, a little goes a long way!
Being a mum of little ones, and forever being time poor, I literally never have time for me anymore, but I’ve decided going forward it’s time to start putting me back up there again with my needs. My first impressions of receiving this bottle was that it was very sleek and modern looking. Once I opened the screw top lid it came with a dropper, so perfect to measure out a drop or two and this way lasts a very long time and no product wastage which is something I always try to avoid. I’ve been using this Serum daily for the last few weeks and I have really noticed a difference to my skin, At first my Skin had a few breakouts, but within a couple of days ever Went back to normal. The silky smooth clear serum feels so good against my skin, such a lovely thick consistency that my skin loves absorbing and soaking up. I found that it does give my skin that extra glow and really makes my skin shine. A perfect product to add under makeup and other products to get the day started right, A product that isn’t too pricey to purchase and that won’t break the budget and can really do wonders for my skin is something I would be so happy to invest in down the track. With the small amount needed the bottle goes a very long way and I’m definitely happy about that, and will continue to enjoy it until my Last drop. And to be completely honest with this review, I’ve never tried a Dr LeWinns product before and this was so good for my first experience. My skin loves that extra boost of daily serum and I’m thankful to be able to try this new product for a trial, and hope to continue to do so in the near future. Sometimes when you’re a mum, we’ll most times we just dream about using expensive, amazing products that actually make a difference and this does just that. But only dream as they normally have big price tags, but this is something I would continue it’s so dreamy and amazing on my skin. Going forward I will be keeping my eyes open for anymore Dr LeWinns range as they are really lovely and they are something I’ve never looked at before at all. So this trial surely has opened my eyes and I’m really happy about that, cannot wait to start looking after my skin and it’s needs. Here’s to a new year of making lots of selfless changes to my skincare routine cause this mumma needs it.
