A great boot. Love the look and the fit.Only downside is that for me the sole doesn’t last very long.Usually six months. That however that doesn’t bother me much as I claim on the for life guarantee.I will keep buying this model for as long as it is available.I like the way the leather changes over time. It gets more attractive each day.I am just so thankful that I purchase and registered my for life boots all those years ago.

I bought a pair of these on a whim, having never seen them before in the shops, although I had been looking for some dark brown boots or DMs for a while. They’re quite a wide fitting, even when laced up tight but once you get used to your feet having plenty of room, they’re comfortable. They are noticeably heavy due to the amount of leather and thicker soles but I’ve worn them all day for work and not felt too tired, although I do tend to clomp around a bit in them later in the day. After a few wears, the uppers get noticeably marked. My first thought was to rush out and buy some sort of treatment for the leather, but now I quite like the worn-in look.Overall, they’re what I expected from Doc Marten: a good quality, good looking boot and at a good price too.

Comfortable for day long wear fresh out of the box. Not really like my past expectations of Doc Martens!Clean up nicely with Wonder Balsam, although no glossy finish; subtle silk is ok too, based upon past experience of Doc Martens for life.I have always spent hours polishing my boots, so this is a bit of a turning point in life for me. Take change by the hand, my old gaffer used to say, lest change takes you by the throat.

These boots are super uncomfortable, and super ugly. The whole silhouette of this boot is different from the rest. They look like some cheap men’s walmart work boots. They were wider than most even though they were the regular width. And I have to buy extra laces because the laces they came with were not even long enough to make a decent tie when laced all the way up. I don’t even think they can be broken in they’re so hard. Why is this color version shaped like a cheap workbook?? The other colors don’t look like that. And just say they’re for men. Don’t lie and label them as womens just to make extra sales because I’m sure you make plenty as a brand. Now I’m stuck with these ugly bob the builder looking boots that I paid 150 for. I could have gotten these for $75 ... MoreThese boots are super uncomfortable, and super ugly. The whole silhouette of this boot is different from the rest. Bought these here substantially cheaper than the official Dr Martens web site. They are super quality and the Crazy Horse leather is soft and flexible. It's not as stiff as other leathers but is still super tough. The breaking in period is much reduced compared to other Docs. They are developing into super comfy boots. It's also worth noting that the sole is the deeper, heftier commando style tread and will no doubt last a long time. They're not cheap but ultimately you get what you pay for. A really great fashion or work boot that will give you years of service. Highly recommended.
It's my first pair of 1460 boots and they are great, I really like them. Maybe two things to mention. I bought the same boots a year ago in size 46 because I believed the tips I found online that it has to be snug at first and stuff like that. I normally wear size 47 so it was plain stupid :) Well, I had to buy another pair in size 47 because was way too uncomfortable, they hurt the top of my feet real bad where to toebox meets the tongue of the shoe (but maybe it's just my feet). So my recommendation is to go with whatever size is comfortable from the beginning. In case it's necessary you can buy more thick insoles (made by Martens) that make a perfect fit and I definitely recommend buying the Martens 'double padded' socks. Another thing is that if you buy these ... MoreIt's my first pair of 1460 boots and they are great, I really like them. Maybe two things to mention. Another thing is that if you buy these boots from ASOS using EU sizes be aware that you might receive a smaller size. I guess it's because of the size conversion, but a year ago I ordered sizes 47 and 48 and got sizes 46 and 47, and this time I ordered size 48 and got size 47 (but I already knew this might happen)
These are some of the best DMs i have ever had, this the 4th pair i have bought, but two pairs got chewed by my cattle dog. I wear them every day, in any weather, so would probably last longer if i worried about that. I also do not use any sort of dubbing on them, which again, i probably should do that. I also use them in a harsh area and conditions in, Central Australia, where it is hot and dusty, they last around 3 - 4 years. (My husbands work boots only last him a year!)I LOVE THEM. They are super comfortable, look great, and what's not to love!
Wish these were like my Doc Martens from early 90s. They aren’t - Dr Martens shifted production overseas in the mid/late 90s and quality is much lower. Bottom line is that this boot does not have enough structure to support all day wear. Initially, it’s very comfortable, but after multiple days and many hours, my feet, ankle and shins ached. Discovered there is no shank in the boot which is not good. Wasn’t expecting high end quality for the price, but I don’t think they are worth buying especially if you need some support from your footwear. On the plus side, they look pretty cool and the leather is nicer than the high shine models. Fits a 1/2 size large.
Have bought this style before in the size down. I loved it but grew out of it. It was brilliant for travelling around the UK, going out and wearing casually with jeans. Bought the size up this time. Fits well on length but is very loose normally - I have narrow, shallow feet so struggle to find a tight fit anyway. I wear it with a standard insole from an old running shoe and a gel heel cup and this fills out the shoe nicely. It also adds another level of comfort to what is already a comfortable shoe. I got blisters on the back of my heel the first couple of days wearing them, but after that, the leather softens and becomes really comfortable. Overall pretty happy, just wish I could find the perfect fit straight out of the box.
I’ve owned several different types of boots. Compared to my Timberlands and Hushpuppies, these are more comfortable. That being said, the aforementioned boots are also very good. The Dr Mertens are light and the rugged brown look of this variant looks amazing. I’m a mature adult male, and the brown appeals to me. Worn with jeans over; they look like a nice pair of chukkas. With a pair of chinos, they look like an amazing military boot.I was in a bit of a dilemma, wether or not to keep the Chelsea variant. In fact I purchased a Chelsea; but exchanged it for the lace up. The Chelsea was a great fit, but the store clerk advised that I may have more versatility with lace up’s - being able to tighten them with thin socks, or wear them with a broader range of outfits. ... MoreI’ve owned several different types of boots. The Chelsea was a great fit, but the store clerk advised that I may have more versatility with lace up’s - being able to tighten them with thin socks, or wear them with a broader range of outfits. They also advised that there was slightly low risk of the Chelsea stretching and then feeling clunky.Lastly, on point of the Dr Merten Chelsea - they are are a little tough to slip into and take off. I had to use both hands to wedge them off my feet. Compared to my Hush Puppy Chelsea’s (which slip on and off easily), the Dr Merten slip in wasn’t practical. In brief, Im super happy with my Dr Mertens lace-up’s. The Chelsea variant is also great; but may not appeal to everyone.
