Shoes have a high quality feel and look beautiful. However, fresh out of the box they are the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever worn. After one commute into work (about 25 minutes of walking) I have the worst blisters I've ever had (2 wounds on each heel and one wound below the big toe of each foot). Have had to bandage my feet ever since before leaving the house in any footwear. Will probably be another week before before my feet heal enough for me to attempt wearing them again with thick socks and blister pads.

I absolutely love these shoes. I used to have a patent leather version of these (not Doc Martens) when I was in middle school and I wore those into the ground, I enjoyed them so much. These are definitely a more solid, classy version of them. I recommend a “breaking in” period for these as they do arrive feeling very stiff. (For reference, I’m a womens size 8.5, got these in an 8 and they fit just right. I have a more narrow foot.) Only took a few days of wear to feel like they were more comfortable. Overall a good fit and great looking shoe. Very versatile, too. I think I might splurge later for the patent Made in England version of these down the line.

My first pair of Dr Martens shoes. I purchased online so was not able to try on before buying. The insert in the box warned that they would be tight but would mould to the foot over time. They were extremely tight, it was very difficult to get the left shoe on at first. I was concerned that they would not fit but wore them for an hour at a time indoors over a period of a week and the leather gradually gave. They are not yet fully 'worn in' yet but I have no doubt that they will perform as described with a little more wearing.

I do like the shoes overall but a couple of things are disappointing. The sides of the shoes gape no matter how tight the laces are. The leather is very hard delaying the breaking in process. The left shoe is tighter than the right with the leather seeming thicker so not being as flexible on the bend of the foot. I have loads of others DMs and no others have that left foot problem.But they are nice for the summer and I like the mid thickness sole too.
I had another pair of docs my puppy chewed the eyelets out of - These as are close to them as I will get, as they are no longer sold. This pair is a softer leather, and fits more loosely. Idk if I’d say loose enough to go down a full size, as I haven’t tried on a size 8 to compare. The other style hugged the sides on my feet more closely, these do not. They are comfortable, though I’ve only worn them around the house for a general feel. - They are more forgiving, and thus, didn’t need a break in period. I’m curious if a size 8 would of fit more securely, but didn’t want to mess with exchanging for 8s, and potentially having them not fit comfortably. The spikes seem sturdy, and the boots aren’t as heavy as the other style. All-in-all I like my stand-ins, but I do ... I purchased these and thought they would be just like every other pair of Doc Martens, 8 in totally that I’ve owned over the years. I put them on and started hearing a loud popping noise with every step coming from my left shoe. I thought maybe it just needs to be broken in. By the end of the day I was feeling an air bubble kinder my foot. These shoes are unwearable. I have reached out to customer service and their recommendations were tu lightly sand the sole of my shoe and if that didn’t work, to rub a dryer sheet on the sole. I’m over it, I’ll buy my shoes elsewhere.
These are stiff as I remember them. Use a shoe horn to stop scrapping your heals (when new) whilst putting them on and use dubbin when breaking them in and you have a better chance of a pain free break in period. Also worth using a shoe trees if you have them.I haven’t had a pair of these since my teenage years…..it’s been too long. The quality is as i remember them, perhaps the leather is a little thinner, but I don’t think that will matter. These are good looking enough to wear with a suit and rugged and comfortable enough to wear everyday.
After recommendation from few friends I have order my first pair of doctor Marten's 1461 Mono Smooth Leather Oxford shoes which cost nearly £150. my shoe size is 9.5 but always get 10 as my work requires me to stay many hour standing. I wear this shoes for one day and they destroyed my legs. I wanted to return them, but their return policy is stating that they will not accept worn shoes, so basically you are aloud only to try them indoors which when I did they were okay, but wearing them a full shift of 8 hours made my legs suffer so much. Now I will try to sell them online for half price so I can get new van chipper and comfortable shoes. I do not recommend this "working" shoes, not worth your hardly earned money.
