Big but easily sorted!
Well made and look great. Yeah the leather scuffs and shows marks but that is part of the “look”. Get some of the balsam to smooth that back out, but personally I like the “lived in” look of them.I normally buy a UK size 11 but these required an insole to fit properly! They are about a half size too big. Bought the genuine Doc Martin cushioned insole n heel grips and the fit is now great.I am sick of buying expensive shoes that last 10 weeks. I am a teacher on my feet all day. Hopefully these will last a bit better.... Show more

Classic, classy, comfortable.
Be kind to your feet! These shoes are stylish, comfortable and a good fit for my narrow, flat feet. They look more like women’s shoes than the vegan ones that I purchased where 6.5 were more like a size 7 and a little on the larger side.I got these at a bargain for £75! And am going to get the black ones next, which are full price. If you’re a DM fan, these won’t disappoint! Excellent buy, excellent value and works well with trousers, skirts, dresses etc.The one improvement would be, add the DM tag at the back like the boots.... Show more

EXPENSIVE SHOES WITH CHEAP PACKAGING
I received my husband’s shoes today, a christmas gift for him. The shoes were not on sale, I paid the full price…but they arrived in a brown nordstrom shipping box, that’s it! They looked like they came from a clearance rack…where is the original Dr Martens shoe box? They were just thrown inside a big box with nothing to protect them during transit. The shoes did not have any tissue paper stuffing or tissue paper wrapping for protection. So disappointed! Well this is not the first time receiving a cheaply packaged item from Nordstrom, but a full-priced item without it’s own shoe box is a big turn-off. Not acceptable, returning tomorrow!!!... Great every day shoes
I’ve lost track of how many pairs of these shoes I’ve had. So it’s a good bet that I think they look good, last well, and are good value. Nowadays I wear them pretty much every day, and buy a new pair when the wear on the heels and sole makes them uncomfortable to walk in (presumably because the shoe sole ground contact and my foot to shoe sole contact no longer meet at the right angles relative to one another). The cushion sole is of course a design feature, but some people will find the softness tiring when walking, because some energy appears to be dissipated in every step.... Leather very stiff to begin
Leather very stiff to begin and shoes need quite a bit of breaking in. Comfortable once done so, if a little strange when walking due to the cushioned soles, but I will probably get used to that in time. True to size, albeit that only becomes apparent after breaking in.Shoe trees help. The brand, which I encountered first as a teenager in the sixties, has become upmarket, fashionable and consequently expensive.A good shoe overall, but not cheap compared to competition. There was an issue when at online checkout no discount code could be applied, but Dr Martens subsequently refunded the 10%. Their online shop software thus needs rectifying.... Show more

Look aesthetically great quailty just isnt there anymore
I love docs! They're my favourite choice of foot wear. However they just dont make them like they used too!Creases visible after a few weeks that then later lead into cracks followed by holes shortly after. The older models of doc martens would last for about 25 years + but now a days youre lucky to get about a year an a half out of them, and funnily enough theyre about 5×s the orginal too. Pay for the brand not the quality just getting cheaper and cheaper.... Show more

Product Review
So, I ordered the burgundy color listed above, thinking they were burgundy NAPPA leather oxfords as per the listing that's what I thought they were. DMs are great but smooth leather is kind of tough on the feet. FYI, the burgundy color is in a SMOOTH leather. I did get a free return label and refund of the original purchase price but am not getting anywhere with customer service re: refunding the initial $9ish shipping fee-not a huge amount of money but enough, and the principal of the thing bothers me- it just feels wrong as I feel the listing was inaccurate/misleading and Dillard's so far won't take ownership for this. So, a warning to others - the burgundy leather oxfords listed above are SMOOTH and not NAPPA leather and though a good price and are beautiful ... size 12 Dr. Martin shoes.
I sincerely liked the quality and fit of these traditional oxford shoes, but I returned them because the heels are lifted to an extent that bother my back on my tall (6'4") frame. If I had any wish for Dr. Martin, or shoe makers generally, would be to proportionally scale down the heel height, relative to the ball of the foot, to the foot size (assuming larger sizes would generally be purchased taller individuals). Shorter men and women seem to prefer higher heels, the taller among us maybe not so much. I personally am more comfortable with little or no increase in the height of the heel over the ball of the foot. But most shoes have some. The shoes find myself the most comfortable with are the Sperry brand boat shoes I have owned. But the main issue being the heel ... Terrible fit
I own Dr marten boots and these shoes I tried in 2 sizes. They slip off the heel and I had no more room in the toe so I couldn’t go smaller. The low star review is because these are not sold in stores and I had to order online. Then when the size didn’t fit, they wouldn’t do an exchange. I had to pay seven dollars to return those and then make a whole new order. Then the second pair I got didn’t fit and I had to pay seven dollars to return those. So it cost $14 just to shop. Not to do an exchange for a new size is unheard of.... Show more

Very pleased........
Bought these for my wedding as I wanted to invest in a pair of shoes I could definitely wear again. I wasn't disappointed. They look terrific. Original design with minimal seams and stitching. The leather lightens where it creases giving you a vintage look. Use the balsam to return to new look in an instant. No "breaking in" required they are so comfy. Don't worry about buying big because they will stretch. They look and feel fabulous.... Show more
