My husband has athletes foot. We've been trying for years to find shoes that would help his condition but they worsened it amd hes heavy on his feet.We started buying Dr Martens during 4 years ago and they were a G-d send! Hes feet cleared up, he wasnt hobbling from deep cracks, bleeding etc. His feet completely healed! Ever since we only buy Dr Martens and have never looked back.These shoes are a little on the larger side but he likes it that way and are very comfortable to wear. Easy to put on and im sure theyll last him for at least 2-3 years like the pair before this one.Would recommend to all!!

I’m a standard size 9 in most/all brands, and rarely ever have to deviate from that. I ordered my regular size 9 despite what the reviews said, and they ended up being huge (even with thick socks). Decided to return them since it wasn’t practical to keep them, and I ordered a size 8. The size 8 is pretty tight. I’m trying to push through and see if they break in better, which they have, but I’m not close to them being remotely comfortable. I am not sure if the process is worth it in the end. Pretty disappointed because most people that I know love their Drs. Things to note, the sole of the shoe and comfortability of them (sizing aside) is great. I haven’t owned a pair of DM’s for many years and was worried that the quality might have suffered as with other brands. But I needn’t have worried. My Chelsea boots are top quality. They are a struggle to get on but getting easier as I wear them in. At 67 I need (but not psychologically ready for orthopaedic shoes) So I opted for DM’s and I now have 3 pairs. It goes without saying that they are extremely comfortable. The agreeable comments I have had from younger members of my family have made me feel rather trendy which definitely wouldn’t have happened if I’d have gone for the Velcro fastening orthopaedics. All in all an expensive but worthy decision.

I was tired of boot shopping until finally I decided to buy a pai of Dr martens. I'm so glad I did and this was an investment. One of the best pair of boots iv owned. The sole and grip with the yellow stitching I absolutely love the craftsmanship. Leather is beautiful and exactly what I wanted. No need to worry about scratches and scuffs and I didn't even need to break into my boots. Well packaged and arrived super quick. Great first time experience and the discount made it even more sweeter. Hope these stand the rest of time!
I splurged and got the Made in England boot and have zero regrets. Excellent craftsmanship, generous fit, and they are breaking in nicely. Shipping was fast, and the packaging was lovely. I typically wear women’s 8.5/9US and opted to go with the 9. A half size down would have been perfect if that had been an option. They are roomy for a 9, but that’s ok because they will accommodate thicker socks if needed. One suggestion with the Chelsea boot: get heel inserts; this will prevent any pressure on the back of your leg and make the boots even more comfortable right out of the box.
They did need a bit of wearing in, but I find this standard for most DM’s, once worn in they are very comfy. A little tight to begin with getting my foot in, but the elastic gives and the leather does soften. Slightly on the larger size of a 6 for me. This is not a problem as there is plenty of room for winter socks. I also bought a pair of the DM insoles for extra comfort. Not that they especially need them, I just feel the insole gives that bit extra and stops my socks and foot sliding around. Width was perfect for me, they don’t pinch. The chunkier sole on these are fab! Really good grip on them too. Wet pavement and autumn leaves don’t stop the tread on these boots. No sliding and slipping when wet under foot. The workmanship and attention to detail are superb.I purchased US women’s size 7,(I usually wear 6 but need to add supportive insoles.The boots are breaking in nicely and are very comfortable.I have 2 other pair of Made in England Doc shoes which are 30 years old and finally needing refurbishing so I can continue to wear them.I bought the boots to serve as all purpose shoes in a practical sense not a fashionable one; a good thing in my case as I’m 5’1’ 110 lbs with skinny legs; the boots look almost comical on my feet …. but I love them!
I usually buy industrial CBs for work, which have been lifechanging, such comfort, durability, remaining chic too - why did i wait 50 years to find these beauties. Have worn them as my 'nice' boots too for a few years now, new becoming old, followed by another new etc. This time though, I opted for the VINTAGE. - looked fabulous made in UK, and wanted something to only wear as best. They arrived, stunning. The first wear was travel to France on 3 trains, crossing Paris, luggage, stairs and all the rest. Absolute comfort, couldn't quite believe it! Not a blister in sight. Wore throughout the holiday and the same comfort. Cannot recommend them highly enough. Glossy gorgeousness and comfort.
Several years ago when Dr Martens were made in England using quality British leather were excellent and often lasted over 8 years whilst working on the land. Smooth boots bought 2 or so years ago which were made in China failed, one split on the side seam near the sole. Inevitably, I am unable to comment on my recently purchased Smooth Boots made in Laos. I have given one star for my Smooth Boot purchase during July 2022. Having worked in the Leather Industry I am able to inform you, each Boot was made using a different Hide. Finally, I buy Dr Martens as the Air Cushion Sole is very comfortable. Regards, Robert.
