Got these as a birthday present and loving them so far! I'm usually a size 8 but got these in a 7 and they fit great, pretty comfortable from the get go too. I was worried about the width but they do not feel tight at all and don't rub my feet like other shoes usually do.Obviously they require a bit of breaking in, they are quite heavy and chunky so wear them around the house first before walking for miles in them. The padding around the ankle is amazing, one of the reasons I went for this style.Really enjoying stomping around in these beauties, would definitely recommend to people who want a lil extra bit of height. 10/10 would recommend!

Found these shoes last summer and had to wait for nearly an entire year until they were back in stock. Ordered a 6 and 5 to see which fit because based on the reviews, other folks recommended that. The 6 is a bit loose and the 5 was way too tight, so I stuck with the 6. Think I have finally broken them in after a few weeks. Normal socks work just fine but wearing these shoes for long periods of time does cause minor strain on the foot, with the extra weight from the platform. I am happy to have them finally! Definitely upgrades outfits effortlessly.

I had wanted the Dr. Martens platform Oxford for a long time. These shoes are so comfortable. I wear them to school. My university has a very big campus, and I walk 3 to 5 miles a day in these. After I got them broken in, they have been my go to shoes for school. The platform keeps my feet warm and dry in the winter. These Docs are so cute too! They go with almost every outfit!10/10 would buy again.

Really wanted to love these. I usually buy a six in Docs but always put insoles in them. I did the same for these but because of the type of shoe it fit weird. The shoe is very heavy. I have platforms boots from Dr. Martin as well which are the same weight, but because of the lack of support around the ankle with these they seem extra heavy. Tried wearing them and the top of my foot started hurting.
I love this style, I'm not a heal wearer but these give me a good couple of inches! They have not been hard to wear in as I expected. This may be due to the extra eyelets and slight padding round the rim also I have a high instep, but all ok so far. Love the style as it's versatile and looks great with jeans, trousers, skirts and dresses. Great for work and casual and a night out. Highly recommended ***
I really love my 8053! I really love the style! The brake in is being a little painful (nothing significant, really), I know that will soon not be a problem. The only issue I had with them, was the sizing. I ordered size 8 because that’s the shoe size I wear (all the shoes I own are size 8), but the Dr. Martens 8053 size 8 are too big. I had to return them and then I ordered size 7. I wasn’t sure if the size 7 was going to fit well or if they were going to be too small/tight, but I took the risk and ordered them anyways. I’m glad I did it! Size 7 fits like a glove! I don’t know if sizing runs too big on all Dr. Martens shoes or just on the 8053 style. These shoes rule, look great with almost anything, and are EASILY the most comfortable Docs I’ve ever worn. They still needed to be broken in, but it was a mercifully fast process.The only complaint I have is that the sizing is definitely off. I wear an 8 in all Doc boots, so I bought these in an 8 as well.They’re definitely a bit big, but not so big that I need to return them. I worry that the 7 might somehow be too small anyway.Just be aware that the sizing is weird on these, and know you might need to exchange them if you guess wrong on which size you’ll need.

Hello, the recent pair of 8053 Nappa Leather Casual Shoes is the second pair of such shoes that I have purchased in the past year approximately; the first purchase being done at the Fashion Show mall in Las Vegas at a Doc Martin store. With that pair, the right shoe's sole began developing a popping quality/sound when I walked within about three months of purchasing them, which was outside of the 30 day return policy (so, I was stuck with them). Ironically, after having now received your email, this second pair I just received in the mail has begun to have a noticeable squeak in the left shoe, occurring when I walk and in a similar way to the issue I had with the right shoe of the last pair I purchased. I've worn Docs for years and am really disappointed.
The boots fit very true to size. I have wider feet and my usual foot size remained the correct one. The boots are a few inches tall and can feel strange to walk in at first, but you quickly get used to the feeling. You also do not need to break them in- they were very comfy. I would recommend wearing longer socks with them at first as they can rub if your skin is in direct contact. Overall I am very happy with my purchase!
