Finally- ordered Dr. Martens- honored to be able to do so. Currently undergoing radiation treatment for Stage IIV cancer. And a new pair of quality shoes would offer a lift through a difficult time. Unfortunately, the shoes are uncomfortable and have even broken the skin in the left heal. Cannot wear them esp with a risk of breakdown with my Dx. Would like to order boots hoping they would be a better fit but am a bit hesitant. All around out money and unable to enjoy a great pair of shoes. Waited a long time. All the best to your company. Like the socks. EW

I know that these are brand new and the leather is very stiff, so they have to be broken in. My main problem is with the buckles on the sides. The metal buckle ring is just a tad too small/tight for the stiff leather strap to fit through them. It takes me ages to just buckle/unbuckle the shoe to take them on or off (because you CANNOT put these shoes on or take them off if the buckles aren’t undone), and I’m afraid I’m going to break the metal buckle or rip it off entirely because I have to pull on it so hard just to get the metal prong inside the hole in the strap to tighten them (or undo them). I just think they could be a lot easier to buckle. Other than that, they are definitely cute, stylish, and seem like they’re well-made with quality materials. If you’re new ... I guess another issue I have with these is that the edge of leather around your ankle is very hard and even a little sharp. I feel like the company could add some sort of rubber or protective seal to make that part more comfortable. I’m probably never going to be able to wear these without socks, because my ankles will likely get sliced by the leather edge no matter how “broken in” they are.

This us the first pair ofcDr Martens I have been unhappy about.Two reasonsI always buy a size uk8 eu42 even though I take a size smaller. I do this so I don't have to worry about breaking on new shoes or boots but these are decidedly much smaller than advertised.Secondly, be abuse rge leather used is of poor quality. It feels more like cardboard. I'm a leather Artisan and can tell a good quality leather from a poor quality.Don't get me wrong, I'm an avid Dr Martens Collector and am the proud owner of 29 pairs of shoes and boots. I was just disappointed with this pair.

I wore these Mary Jane docs in high school and am so excited they’re back in so many new colors! I got the Taupe color and they are beautiful! These are great to wear with pretty much everything- jeans, skirts, dresses, - they look great work alone or with socks or tights. And they are over 50% off! An amazing price! I think they are true to size but if you’re between sizes I would size down not up. I wear a 7 or a 7 1/2 depending on the brand and the 7 fits great. Don’t hesitate if you’re thinking of getting these! I’m sure they will sell out quickly especially at this price!

I have broken all the pairs in slowly, over a couple of weeks. After, they are the. most. comfortable. ever!I live in Arizona, so the boots aren't so good for the summers. Now, the Mary Janes will be perfect for everything I wear to work. I read the many 8065 negative reviews, and ended up ordering two different sizes, but I didn't need to. I am a true size 10, and the 10 fit perfectly. I didn't even open the size 9 box that I ordered. The buckles on the 8065 Mary Jane's are stiff as people mentioned, but I had no problem opening them. I set them looser than I would normally wear, and then slide my feet in and out of the shoe with a sock on. This way, I don't have to deal with the stiff buckles.Once on, these Mary Janes are very comfortable, just like my boots. And don't forget, Docs need to be worn a bit to soften up the leather. So my advice is, order your normal size in this shoe.

My foot is rather average (they do tell you to size down - which I did, I’m wearing a 7) and the overall fit is pretty great, but the straps are an absolute struggle to buckle. Just to get it into the 1st hole it takes me all of my upper body strength, a solid 5 minutes each shoe, and a very specific foot posture. Of course, they’re new, so I’m breaking them in and what not but idk it’s kinda wild. There are five holes on the strap and it’s such a struggle getting the buckle into the 1st one that I just don’t see how I’d ever make it past hole #1. I’ve only worn these 3 times and I’ve already damaged the right shoe’s center tongue ... Adorable with the potential to be great all-day walking shoes, They look great with wide-legged pants. I deeply wish there were half sizes or perhaps wide sizes. One size is far too small and tight all over, crushing my foot. The shoes in the next size up are better--so I kept them-- but too big and is developing a crease that presses down painfully on my foot when I walk. I'm trying to wear them in with the thickest pair of socks possible, but I fear they will never be more than ornamental shoes for me, not the comfy-yet-stylish walking shoes I was seeking. I couldn't afford Docs back in the '90s, so I was excited to get these, but just haven't had much luck with the fit.
i love these shoes so much, they are some of the cutest shoes i have ever owned. they go with SO many outfits and i get so many compliments on them. i have had them for around two weeks now and they aren't broken in yet, but i can tell that they are getting there, so be patient! one thing i will recommend when buying is measuring the length of your feet, looking at the size chart, and buying the matching size based off of that, it worked perfectly for me. also, make sure you have thick socks and protection for your ankles at the beginning, it can be a rough process breaking them in. regardless, i absolutely love my shiny little shoes!
