Disappointed of Northampton
Product 1460 Boots, Green.I struggle to express my disappointment with my boots.Firstly, I followed the online sizing guide (I normally take a UK size 8, the guide recommends a 9, which I went for a 9). Even after considerable massaging the leather and rubbing in DM’s own Balsam I think these boots are contenders for the most uncomfortable I have bought; they are loose at the heel, hard insoles and very painful across tight across the bridge where the stitching where the tongue joins the upper and presses painfully into the top of my foot in a manner Torquemada could but envy, they are unwearable, I suspect more suited for ducks than humans.Secondly, with years of experience working with leather (admittedly as a hobbyist) in my opinion the quality of the leather ... Exactly what I needed.
Bought a pair of the Jadon boots. Was in between sizes so I sized up. The boot felt a little, teensie, weensie bit too big. Also, was getting some foot fatigue since I stand all day at work. Looked around at all kinds of insoles and decided to give the Doc Marten brand insole a “go” since it was the brand of boat too. What a difference!!! The boot feels So. Much. Better. I have less back pain at the end of the day and my ankle even feels more supported in the boot. It did shift where the back of my heel rubbed inside the boot a little bit. Wore some thick socks and moleskin tape and within a few days it was all stretched in the right spot. I’m glad I went with these. They don’t look like they’re going to do much because they are thin but I really truly feel a ... MoreBought a pair of the Jadon boots. Was in between sizes so I sized up. For reserve. Need I say anything more?... Show more

Good insoles but boots then tight
The insoles were bought to replace worn insoles in my booted vegan Docs. They were more cushioned than the bits of insoles that came out but after a bit of a struggle, we got them in. As my foot was seated quite a hit higher, the shoes felt tigher, this didn't help when I wore thick socks and decided to go on a long walk. I developed painful blisters/sores on the back of both feet. I blame myself for this but I do think that my feet were elevated within an enclosed boot so would like to warn others not to make the silly mistakes I did... Show more

Great Soes. Too Bog
I’d originally ordered the size 8. Being female I’m used to the larger men type size 8. I once made the mistake of buying a size 7 Adrian that I thought I could stretch with time. I couldn’t as the leather was so hard and the shoe was slim and slightly pointed. So I went for the 8 thinking if slightly big I’ll use insoles. They arrived, the leather softer than the usual Adrian and they were huge. Like boats. They were beautiful tho and tried to use the DM insoles with them. But they kept slipping. Having worn them couldn’t send them back and ordered the 7. Line a glove and not at all tight. So WARNING. Get the 7. The leather is soft, it’s not narrow and f so lightly pointed but quite wide. I love them and if they were the only shoes i had keft I wouldn’t mind.... Show more

immediately started falling apart
put these insoles into my boots to make them fit better for my half-sized feet. they did that just fine, however, the second day i put my boots on with them in it, i felt something weird in my heel and assumed i had just bunched up my sock weird. i checked after i got home and saw that the fuzzy lining had already started peeling at the heel. the second insole soon followed with the same issue. still using them as-is but extremely disappointed with the quality.... No more ice feet
I got these because my old insoles had seen many many better days. These are a lot thicker than the original ones (so if your boots already fit tight keep that in mind). They're really soft and fuzzy which somehow w a nt what I was expecting. I have poor circulation and thus my feet always seem to be freezing especially in winter. These soles have cut that down dramatically and now my feet hardly get cold unless the rest of me is cold, even then they are just cold not ice! I'm really glad I bought these... Show more

Not great
Have to remove the shoe insoles to be able to use this, therefore made my boots tighter, despite using thin wool socks. Faux fur feels nice, although it’s meant to keep me warm, it didn’t do the job after an 45 minute, made my feet very cold and numb. I had to take it off and warm my feet up over a radiator.Unless you have very narrow feet, then this won’t affect the fit of your boots. Otherwise, don’t bother buying as it will just make ur boots too tight to wear.... Show more

Superb quality and fit
I bought these to bring DMs a size too big into my range. It's not a perfect solution as oversize boots mean extra material on top of the foot which doesn't always give as you want it to, but these insoles are great. They have an arch support and feel robust. The faux fur means they take up extra space which is what I wanted, but at some point that will likely squash down. They are pricey but you are paying for excellent quality and fit that won't ruck up in the boot. I might save up to get some for my boots that fit too!... Show more

Vintage Docs are the best. 👍
I bought the vintage 101's. They are definitely worth paying the extra money over and above the cheaper version. The leather is thicker but actually feels more supple and didn't require much breaking in at all. These are hand built in England to the original spec from 1960's and are slightly narrower across the foot so I sized up 1/2 size to a 9 1/2 and they fit great. These are the most comfortable Doc Martens that I've ever worn from brand new. The quality is fantastic over the Asian version, they are put together with care and are nicely packaged too in a premium box containing a shoe bag to store your precious Docs in.... Show more
