These shoes are for my son. They are hard to break in, bleeding heels. But they are hard wearing and really good quality. This is his second pair as school shoes. The first pair will be resoled so he can have a spare. Very pleased that vegan Doc Martens are available.

I'm loving my new Docs! It took about a week and a half to break them in comfort-wise, but I'm still dealing with a loud and persistent squeak whenever I walk in them. All of the suggested fixes to this problem involve removing the insoles and either roughing them up with sandpaper or putting a layer of coconut oil or baby powder in between. The issue here is that the insoles of these shoes are actually affixed to the bottom. They don't seem to be removable without tearing the cushiony layer underneath. I'm hoping the squeak breaks in soon because otherwise they will be unwearable. It's so loud!

Happily surprised that I haven’t had to wear these in at all! I went straight in and wore them all day at work where I’m on my feet for the majority of the day and didn’t have a single issue. Now wearing them every day. I can see how they could rub if my feet were a slightly different shape so I’m guessing that’s why others have needed to wear them in. Look like great quality (especially compared to other vegan shoes I’ve had), hoping they will last many years.

Just perfect! It is my second doc martens (I already had the 1460 boots), so I’m not surprised with the quality and style. This shoe is so stylish and good in so many outfits, I’m definitely in love. About the size, mine is 7 UK in these and in the 1460 model as well. Also hurts a little until they break in, but less than 1460.And a tip: the name is different, but these shoes is actually the 1461 model (the box came literally written 1461)
The back of the shoe rubbed against the achilles area and rubbed off my skin causing a painful lesion which is still hurting almost a week later, but has thankfully started to heal. More needs to be done to pad the back of the shoe right at the very top edge where it rubs directly above the heel. Don't really wanna add pics at it didn't look nice. Also even though I got my correct size and the website stated it runs true to size, it was squeezing my little toe a lot also causing the skin to rub off there, but slightly less bad than how it was rubbing the back of the foot just above the heel.
Tried these on in the normal leather in the DM shop, and they fit lovely! Took a picture and the leather was out of stock so ordered the same style and size in the vegan leather as needed them asap as work shoes. Arrived and they were not the same sizing as the ones I tried on in the shop, they were so much smaller i couldn’t fit them on. Disappointed and returned due to size, quality of course was 10/10
If you’re torn between sizes, I went for my true size and the sizing is perfect. These shoes are narrower than your regular leather 1461s so be warned they will feel tighter. I actually prefer the look of these 1461s compared to the regular style. Like any Doc’s these will feel tight (even one foot might be tighter than the other) but keep wearing them around the house with thick socks to break them in. A hair dryer and Dr Marten wonder balsam also works a treat!
Just trying these on, the material wrinkled and did not recover. Within ~10 minutes of walking in these I had blisters on my heels. I have no extra room in the toe box, so I don’t think sizing down is the solution. I have since modified these with heel inserts and an orthotic insole to make them more tolerable. For how expensive these already are, I think that’s very silly. Hopefully despite the wrinkling they hold up for at least a year or too.
I was worried about getting vegan dr martens but these are AMAZING. very comfortable (after wearing in). Looks great perfect for work. Keeps my feet warm as we enter this weird cold but above normal winter temperatures! Love them. I did a little research and discovered they use premium in soles in the vegan dr martens rather than the cheaper foam they use in the standard paid. Worth the price. True to size too.
Although, I am not a vegan, I liked the look of these compared to leather ones. I have ox blood 1460s so thought I would try these for a change.After 6 weeks I noticed both soles had a split on the inside and the piping above the stitching had come off on one shoe. My 1460s are still perfect after 14 months. so dont know how this could happen.Now I have to upload photographs and attach to email as can't return in store as bought online. Shambles.
