This is a seriously well made steel gate extension to the Dream Baby extra tall gate. I bought two of these and the gate to span 72". Total success. My commando poodle that can jump in the air and fly like Batman has not been able to get out. The gates that are made with those little doors for cats or extra decorative rungs are just steps for dogs that are like Houdini or commandos that can scale anything. Total success.

I needed to extend a Dreambaby gate I had bought second hand. Extension works well. The gate itself I am really impressed with, well made and substantial. Using it to keep dogs in a certain area within my home.
My first dream baby gate I got 3 years ago. I have an in home daycare and it was the perfect gate for my stairs. Then I needed a gate for my craft room. (Too many choking hazards for the little ones crawling around.) The first gate system I ordered was the Chelsea extra wide extra tall. Well, my gate was broken. Most likely damaged during shipping. There was oil leaking and the gate was broken in the bottom hinge. It would pop off when ever I opened it... ☹️ Then I’d have to line up the gate and slide it back onto its bottom hinge. The broken gate made me never even want to go into my favorite room... The doorway was very large also, and the gate never seemed to stay in place. Was given a white Chelsea Xtra-Tall baby gate as a shower gift. I was looking forward to putting it in front of the stairs, but it was too small (not wide enough). Thankfully the website offers extensions in every size imaginable. It was easy to install and works great, but my only complaint is the white extensions are constantly out of stock so I had to break down after a month and get a black extension. Looks a little odd but works just as well.

I'm using this gate to separate my newest addition, 112 pound mastiff pup, from my heigh grouchy older cocker spaniel and it works great! I'm thrilled with how sturdy it is, even with three extensions.
Received the item promptly, but the space between the bars is bigger than that of the main piece. I am using this extension to enable me to seal a big opening and block the cats from entering the other quarter of the house. The cats are not able to squeeze through the main gate bars, but they can do it through the extension.Overall, the extension connects to the main gate smoothly, it would work great if the purpose is to block dogs or other bigger pets.BTW, I tried 30" high gate first, my cats jump right through, so I searched for higher gates, and found this one, 39.5" high, I thought the cats wouldn't be able to get over the gate. Somehow, they did manage to get over the gate, not jumping over the gate though. In the end, I put vaseline on top of the gate, ...
