good solution to issue with skirting board mounting
I have just started to baby proof the house and the first step was the stairs and kitchen/living room. I love this gate as it is retractable and was easy to install. The gate can be installed in 2 locations as you get 2 sets of mounting brackets and you can move the gate between 2 locations which is great.If you have skirting board though, the spacers as a must to make sure the gate is tight when locked.
The gate took a long time to install. The idea is good but the gate does not fit low enough to the ground to keep the dogs in and / or out.
If you're not sure whether or not you need them, buy them. You can always return them if you end up not needing them during installation. Do you really want to get part way through your gate installation and then decide you need them?
Very happy with the quality and finishs off the look of the gate nicely, shame this kit isnt included with the safety gate as most people will want to fit gate where skirting board is fitted.
This product is certainly not for the layman to fit especially if you have skirting boards. Much too complex!
I needed these spacers to fix up a baby gate. The trouble was none that I could find exactly matched those shown in the gates instructions. Then I found these, exact match and with all the relevant fixings, in fact on opening the pack I found more fixings than I needed. Using the spacers has resulted in a perfectly fixed baby gate. Pro's: well designed, strong plastic, perfectly moulded and spare fixings. Con's: none.
