Dreame X40 Ultra Robot Vacuum and Mop with Auto-Empty and Mop Self-Cleaning

Received the machine on 20 May. But dust bag sensor was spoil before start using it. Contact Dasher Customer service. Best thing since sourdough bread

I moved to this Dreame product after being an Ecovacs customer for years. The X2 Omni was a horrendous product. But this X40 ultra has been a dream from Dreame. Everything so far has been a great after our first few weeks of using. Love the extendable mop! Haven’t had any device keep the edges near walls this clean. Very happy this product has come to Australia so quickly. I stayed away from the previous model because they only had the ugly white version here. Glad I waited for this that looks to be best in class for sure. I haven’t been able to find any fault with it so far. They’ve also made it easy to share the device with your family via their own app installation. Great stuff Dreame!

Cleans and saves time!

We've been using the X40 for less than two months, and its best feature is the ability to drop the mop pads at the dock while vacuuming, preventing issues. We always vacuum first, then mop, and my wife believes it cleans our low-pile carpets better than our other robot vacuum which didn’t mop. The X40 takes longer to vacuum but doesn’t get stuck. It cleans large areas, usually needing one recharge. The dock is well-designed, though disposing of used mop water is not as carefree as advertised. Docking took longer at first but improved. Despite the price, we find it a time-saving bargain, though long-term durability is unknown. Product support has been excellent, with timely responses.

Compete Failure!

Purchased the X40 after reseraching the product, sadly while the unit has potential the software renders the machine near useless. It fails to detect carpet, detects carpets where there is none with no way to correct the map so the unit mops the carpet but wont mop hard surfaces where there is no carpet. Mirrors cause mapping issues and contacting Dreame "support" is a complete waist of time. For the price I strongly recomend you buy anything other than the Dreame X40.

Dreame X40 Ultra

Dreame X40 Ultra is a robot that helps me a lot in the house. It vacuums the carpets and washes the floor quite well, even in the corners. Avoid any obstacle in the way. It climbs easily on carpets. We have very fluffy carpets and not every robot can lift on a fluffy carpet. Before buying this device, we read and watched many reviews and comparisons between robots. We stopped at this model Dreame X40 Ultra and we are very satisfied with the work it does. It is very pleasant and convenient to return from work or travel and find the house completely clean. I can definitely recommend it.

Good Hardware, Bad Firmware, Ugly Support

Product was great until the latest firmware update, at which point all comms to network and phone app broke, which effectively cut out 3/4ths of the functionality. Exchanged it for another X40, same exact thing happened. Two phone calls and 5 emails with Dreame Tech Support failed to resolve the matter. In fact Dreame tech support were the most incompetent and inept I've ever met in my 30 years working as an IT & Systems Specialist. Exchanged the 2nd X40 for a Roborock MaxV Ultra, which survived its first firmware update (unlike the X40s) so now I'm happy again.

The best I've had!

We have had this since its release day in Australia. And the functions it has far outweighs others on the market. I use different setting for different days and times of the week, it runs 12 times a week for different purposes. The swing arm and swing mop are a great feature and really keep the edges tidy. The pressure it applies to the mop pads actually ensures agitation on the floor for a thorough wash. I was never sold on the mop features of others, until this one uses hot water to wash the mop pads between each room. It uses a boost power on the rugs to deep clean. Tangled hairs on the roller in comparison to other vacs is a lot lot less, and the intervention maintenance is significantly lower than others I've had. Our floors are so clean every day.

Top of the line features

This vacuum is excellent and the swing out brush and mop pad really make a difference when it comes to cleaning edges. The app has a couple of quirks for sure but you can configure practically everything and the map interface is significantly easier to use than ecovacs, with quick mapping in 10m and the ability to hide those ghost rooms it makes when it meets a reflective surface or a window. The base unit is sleek and it's easy to change the water and dust bags. The feature to drop/pick up its own mop pads is a game changer for efficiency - just tell it to clean the house and it'll sort itself out between hard floors and carpet!

To explain the base situation: i live in a 70 sqm flat on one floor, but have 3 rather high persian carpets. I recently bought the robot to facilitate my cleaning. General impression: it is a real useful tool, better than i actually expected. Opposite to the earlier models which went randomly through the room, the robot not only has a visual/radar generated map of the flat in mind but also recognizes actual obstacles. That means to clean a room, he systematically plans the general way and goes first around the border of a room, then moves in lines up and down. If he meets an obstacle eg. a chair standing there, he really cleans around it. So, after a whole run, you find your flat significantly cleaner than before. for my flat, he needed to return 5 times to the base station to refill and clean the water for the mopping - the vacuum is emptied at the end. one run takes about 50% of battery and takes around 75 minutes.The part that isnt working are actually my carpets, as they are rather high between 1-2 cms. So already he doesnt really manage to drive onto them and rips a lot of hairs out - he also looses orientation and then tries to drive half on and half off the carpet which doesnt work at all. Also his vacuum despite being the strongest currently on the market, is not strong enough for real persians. apart from that - it saves you so much time, i would pay the price immediately again.
