Dreamfarm Ortwo Spice Pepper Grinder

Several months ago I purchased a package with five different and somewhat “exotic” peppercorns. I wanted to be able to match peppers with different recipes but discovered it was too cumbersome to change peppers with the large grinder I owned. Then I saw this pepper grinder at Food52. It is amazing. I can change peppercorns easily, the container is the perfect size and the grinding mechanism is incredible. This may be the best item I’ve purchased at Food52. A great gift idea.

I have a highly-rated French pepper mill. It grinds pepper well, but not as quickly as Ortwo hand-held pepper grinder. Ortwo is a breeze to fill--no peppercorns flying all over my kitchen. The clear jar makes it easy to see when you need to refill. My 8 year old loves to use it. I also purchased the extra jars to grind other spices.

When my kid helps cook, she knows the mantra in our house is, “grind till you’re sore.” Not anymore! In two-hand mode, I can crank out the pepper so fast and effortlessly. It’s a pleasure to use. A couple of kinks to work out

I really wanted to love these grinders but just can't. There are two problems with them. The first is that the spring action on the handle is too weak. When grinding salt or peppercorn, the handle doesn't spring back enough to get a good grind, so you end up having to use two hands anyway. But more seriously, if you fill the receptical with either rock salt or peppercorn, the plastic will crack when attach the handle to the reservoir. Both of mine have cracked as did an earlier glass version. This problem could easily be solved by adjusting the point at which the reservoir attaches to the grinder. This is a great idea, but until these two problems are solved, I think the product isn't ready for prime time.

BEST and INNOVATIVE SALT GRINDER

I am an avid cook and have gone through many so called ' well reviewed ' grinders and have been disappointed. This one has been a game changer in salt grinders, for me personally. It worked when I sprained my wrist and could grind only with one hand but works optimally using the two handles. It is robust and grinds my course sea salt perfectly. It has a wide mouthed storage jar so easy to refill . Fits more salt than most, so refilling is not often, nor onerous. Well done Lakeland for finding and supporting the designers of this product.

Hooked on DREAMFARM

My son is obsessed with Dreamfarm products. He thinks their designs are impeccable, clever and fun so needless to say we have many of their gadgets. I have something like 3 pepper grinders ( including 2 battery operated) so I was skeptical. To my surprise, I grab this one most often now especially as the battery operated ones are slow and the batteries are always dying. Dream farm objects have a way of hooking you cuz they are just that cleverly designed! With multiple grain sizes, you can get exactly the amount of pepper you want.

If only it was what was promised

I'm a pepper lover and for some 40 years I've been looking for a one-handed mill. This one looked to have all the makings but sadly doesn't hit the mark. Two-handed, it works quite well and I love the ratchet sound as it puts outa goodly amount of the crunched grain. One-handed, it puts out about a tenth the amount and then only at the most course setting. A nice little mill but a total flop as a one-handed one.

I got 2 of these as I have been researching for a while for a pepper grinder that could possibly last through the years and would be also kids-friendly. Glad I chose this as it is a breeze to use, and there's options on the coarseness of the salt/pepper that you need. My children can also easily use this on their own. The good design means that when u put it on your spice rack, there is no spillage of the spice, like other grinders. This is a neat & handy kitchen essential. I feel it is not cheap, but highly recommended if you are looking for something that is practical and lasting.

Works ok

I purchased both the plastic and the wooden as I wanted to compare the 2 in order to make the decision to purchase more for other spices we have. Got these today and put them to the test. Two handed this works extremely well but one handed it seemed to not put out as much and I struggled to use it as efficiently. I also don’t think it appears to look the nicest and looks a little less high end. In addition it appeared to clog with my pepper balls more so than the other. All in all, if you use it sparingly and are trying to save some cash, this would be a decent gift.

Worth the cost

Hands down the best grinders I’ve ever purchased. At first was put off by the cost but realised they are top quality and sturdy. We got the beech handled ones for salt and also pepper. We do end up using more seasoning to be honest. So worth it
