I needed something to clean up some ugly drywall cuts, specifically in the corners where there isn't much room for a hand saw. This worked well for that. I also used the other cutting attachments to trim some rough edges off plastic on slow speed with the dremel.

This was significantly beyond the rated capabilities of the product, but it held up and did the job.Did not break any bits while cutting, even after the bit discolored due to heatCons:The depth adjustment is not extremely accurate.Overall, this kit is a bit expensive for what you get, but it allowed me to expand the use of an existing tool rather than buying a new one.

This can lead to problems if you depend on the scale on the guard since it is not a permanent part of the tool it can be off by fractions of an inch in depth. Set your depth and confirm it with a depth gauge like you would with any other tool. It is important to remain aware that the set screw could possibly loosen, a more positive method of depth control would have been a better option for this. I like the that it as adjustable depth setting with inches and mm tick marks. Easily fit on my Dremel 100. The piece I worked on was a block of wood for a pretty small sign I was carving. This accessory would be better for pieces larger than what I had. I managed some work out of it but finished off rest with handheld Dremel light. Let me preface this by saying that I own a plunge router, and that's the main tool I use for large jobs. However, there are places that the plunge router cannot go, and that's where this kit comes in handy. The cutting guide is really nice when you need more precision in the depth cuts (I didn't need it for cutting out holes in sheetrock, but it was good for depth cuts in wood that didn't need to go all the way through). The guide is very useful and easy to adjust, and the cutting bits did a great job of chewing through gypsum and wood for my project. The guard doesn't glide as smoothly or level along painted walls as it should. The bits skip around which makes a straight cut without additional equipment near impossible. The tightening screw that adjusts the depth of the cut just drills into plastic, which will eventually wear down the channel. Cheap, poor design. A surprising failure by Dremel...

I always looked at these and thought I could use one, but never needed it. Since I received it I have not taken it off my dermal! I have used it on 4 or 5 different projects so far this week. It allows you to set a depth to work with. Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review. I used this as a mini-router with a Dremel 618 chamfering bit. It worked well enough for that purpose but I am perplexed by the depth guide on the side of the unit. The adjustable depth is a good feature, but the 1/4-3/4 markings were essentially meaningless as the actual depth depends on the bit used and how far it is inserted into the collet. I just used trial and error on a piece of scrap to set the depth.
