Dremel 568 Grout Removal Kit, Black

Having the extra support and correct angle helped remove the grout more easily. This was my first time with using a Dremel as well as the grout attachment.

The Dremel Grout Removal Attachment, coupled with the Dremel 1/8 in. Rotary Tool Carbide Grout Removal Accessory were effective in making cuts in the grout to the depth of the tile. I then used the QEP Professional Handheld Grout Saw to widen the cut for better access to the edge of the tile for removal.

Unfortunately%2C the Dremel Grout Removal Attachment did not work in my shower. Our shower floor is 4%94x 4%94 limestone tiles that have a very slight variation in thickness. This prevented the tool from guiding smoothly across the tiles and made it difficult to control. The 1%2F8%94 grout bit really did not remove much of the grout before it broke despite having only an a 1%2F16%94 of the bit exposure. I tried using the smaller 1%2F16%94 bit but that did not work either. I rate my experience as a failure.

Absolutely useless for removing grouting!

Bought this to remove grouting from shower tiles. Complete waste of money as the drill/toolhead is so small it takes hours to get grout out. At that price they should include various sizes of bit. Going to try and get a refund.

Cracking little tool

It certainly works. The guide gets in the way so I didnt use that and you've got to let the tool do its work with minimal pressure at the perfect angle. Definitely worth it at half price but I wouldn't buy it at over £20.

Dremel Wall and Floor Grout Removal Kit

It does as is claimed but the bit snapped after very little use and not at the thin cutting / grinding part, but half way down the thicker shaft part, no undue pressure was used. The problem is more than likely due to the length the bit has to be to reach the grout. The guide is far larger then it needs to be. It's a good idea but needs redesigning to make it a useful tool. In the end I used several grinding bits without and guild and that worked perfectly well. My advice is save the money and buy a couple of cheep grinding bits.

And this accessory was exactly what I needed. I have a large walk-in tile and grout shower in my basement. The shower has a 20" floor ledge you step over to get in and out of the shower and the grout on that ledge had cracked. I bought this attachment and two of the 1/8" grout bits because the 1/16" bit that comes in this kit was too tiny.Having the plastic guide on my Dremel (3000) helped a lot. I love that you can set the depth of the cut too. I started shallow and worked my way down and made it through all the grout without breaking the bit .. nice! There was a small 2" section I had to free-hand because of a wall in the way and the Dremel was easy to control through the cut and that bit was cutting through butter! You'll be happy you did. It makes a difficult, time consuming job easy and fast.

Not that great.

De grouting is a painful job so was hoping for something to make it easier. Yes this gives the perfect angle but it's a phaff to get your bits to exactly the right length. It restricts you in tighter areas. Too expensive for what ot is. All in all a steady hand is more effective.

Not what I had expected

I purchased this accessory to remove grout between my existing floor tiles.The angle attachement included in this kit does increase visibility to ensure you are following the grout lines.The bit included within this kit was not built for the job at hand and broke within minutes of starting. I attempted to use this bit and remove the grout in layers. I knew that this was a smaller bit and would not be able to take out all the grout in one passing.I used the bit and was making my initial pass, everything was looking good until I reached the first intersection where the bit started to bobble a bit and then shattered.Would not purchase this again.

Used this on the grout in tile in my shower that was getting discolored by mold. These were 6 inch tiles with narrow grout lines and the 1/16" bit that comes with the kit fit nicely between the tiles. This tool does the job and will remove enough grout to allow you to re-grout and have it stay. I would recommend this if you only have a few tiles, like me, that needed to be re-done. This tool is works slowly and needs several passes to remove enough grout. Fine for small jobs but would be very tedious for large jobs.
