My usually very placid 12 week old lab was up all night with incessant crying. He was absolutely inconsolable. When you google drontal hyperactivity you can see that hundreds of people have experienced this reaction with their dogs, even though it's not listed as a side effect. I will never use the his product again and would like to warn everyone to avoid it.

Its easier to give my dog these then a chew - which she wont eat and then it is an awful situation. I like these Drontal pills and have used them for probably over a decade.I make sure to wrap the pill in a mini butter-sandwich around pill. Don't get pill bitterness on your fingers or butter. I feed normal butter then slip in the pill then normal butter and it can go well 👍

I gave these to my Jack Russells as they are now between the 5-10kg range. I had been using the Drontal Puppy Suspension with no problems, so thought to continue their worming with Drontal products. A couple of hours after giving the dogs the tablets they started vomiting and ended up vomiting 5-6 times each throughout the day. I though perhaps since they were just over 5kg that the dosage was too strong, so the next month I gave them half a tablet. They ended up vomiting again. The packaging lists vomiting as a "rare side effect". Don't recommend. Won't be using Drontal again.

There is no indication on the description that this product can expire relatively quickly. I decided to bulk buy a larger pack as I have two dogs and got a packet that expired in less that 6 months.When there is encouragement with prices to go for the larger packets, would love to have had a warning on the description to let me know so I didn't waste my money.Still recommend this product but giving it three stars to make sure others are warned since Pet Circle isn't doing that.
Apart from her first couple days home, my puppy has never had any issue settling in her own room at night. I gave her a tablet at 3-4pm and she could not sleep at all. She was whining from 10pm (her usual bedtime) to 1am, was extremely restless and could not settle. She only stopped whining was I came down to lie with her but even then she could not sleep. She was perfectly fine the next night. It's not listed as an official side-effect but googling has shown me anecdotal evidence of a lot of other dog owners with the same issue. I wish I had known about it so I could have at least given it to her first thing in the morning to see if that would've helped things. I don't have evidence of it, but I'm sure it worked fine as a wormer and did its job so 2-stars at least. ... This brand was recommended by our vet, as, unlike some brands, it covers all types of intestinal worms. If your dog is a fussy eater you may have to coat the tablets with peanut butter or crush in their food. Our greedy Labrador was no problem!!
I have been purchasing Drontal worming tablets for my dog for several years now and find them to be a good product.My dog prefers the tablets to the chewables.
If you have a golden or lab, just google 'drontal hyperactivity' before you think about giving them drontal. My puppy's experience mirrors the reviews you find there. She has been agitated, panting, hyper, whining and unable to settle ALL NIGHT. She has been an absolute demon dog, poor little thing is STILL distressed and we're going on 14 hours since she was dosed. It seems to effect goldies and labs more. I'm writing to the manufacturer to see if they can add this as a side effect as it's not currently listed. Note their clinical trial was a grand total of 106 dogs, and didn't look at behavioural side effects.
I haven't tried them. They are for the dog! She's still alive,so I guess they are OK.
