A Dryrobe never disappoints
I had been waiting for this design to come back in to stock after Christmas before ordering.I have had my previous dryrove for 4 years and it is still in perfect condition despite four winters of constant use, such is the quality. My reason for ordering a hew one is for a different design and I wasn't disappointed. There may be many different brands of robes now, but none beat the quality of the Dryrobe. Plenty of room for changing discreetly on the beach, and is warm and dry no matter the weather. The customer service is excellent as was the speed of delivery. The packaging has changed since my previous order. I loved the fact that it has changed to cardboard and the box was very smart.I think you are the best and keep doing what you are doing. When I first ... Clothing As Equipment
This garment is awesome. It is what I call “clothing as equipment”. I’m 6 foot, 220 pounds. I purchased an XL, which provides the loose roomy fit that I prefer; there is ample room for layering underneath. It measures 54 inches from the base of the hood to the rear hemline, thus providing plenty of coverage. The hood does not have a drawstring, but it doesn’t need one, as the cut of the hood provides a good snug fit and does not obscure peripheral vision or interfere with a headlamp. The Euro-zipper is a bit of an aggravation for someone used to having the zipper pull-tab on the right-side, but I solved that problem by keeping the robe partially zipped; then I pull it on as if it was a pullover garment. This is made even easier if a nylon taffeta garment is worn ... MoreThis garment is awesome. It is what I call “clothing as equipment”. I’m 6 foot, 220 pounds. This is made even easier if a nylon taffeta garment is worn underneath, thus eliminating any friction. There are no shoulder seams, thus weather-proofness is enhanced. The cuffs are not gusseted (wish they were), but they seal easily enough with velcro tabs. With the garment zipped up I have even used it as a mild-weather sleeping bag with my feet in the hood and the bottom- hem pulled up around my shoulders. I live in the Appalachian mountains and wear this when walking my dog at night. With this garment as outerwear and a suitable mid-layer I am prepared for the worst of weather.... Show more

Dryrobe - Fantastic
First time ever purchasing from Dryrobe. Have always been skeptical when an item of clothing is branded waterproof- because in reality it usually isn’t. However, then I purchased a Dryrobe to be used on walks etc..I recently was caught out in heavy rain and can honestly this does what the name says..it kept me completely dry - the rain didn’t permeate the outer layer at all. I have never been so dry whilst out in the rain. If that wasn’t enough it has a really warm fleece lining. Concealed internal pockets and 2 external pockets plus a hood. I can’t remember this brand enough. I bought the bright blue colour and even the colour was spot on as some clothing brands alter colours only for the purchaser to be disappointed when an item arrives to find the colour doesn’t ... Again, not Dryrobe - this brand in my opinion is the best in the business for all round quality - if you want a Dryrobe purchase one from Dryrobe. It will not disappoint! Sizing is also true to size.... Show more

Dry Robe has Changed My Life! 😎
'Dry Robe' has changed my life... was the quote from my wife after she got her new Robe the week after I got mine. The warmth is unprecedented and it's simply the best jacket /changing Robes we've ever owned. We both wear them walking the dog, watching our sons rugby and football in all weathers as well as when we go away in the caravan and paddle boarding. The quality is outstanding and ithey stood the test of an 8 mile walk in torrential rain and wind at the height of Storm Isha with zero water ingress. Awesome. The Robe is very distinctive with loads of colour and styke options available and I've lost count of the number of people who we've spoken to who bought one for themselves following our endorsement. I'm 5' 9" and mefuum build and the medium adult Dry Robe is perfect for me as a spacious all round jacket as well as an ideal changing Robe for outdoor activities and water sports. We would both highly recommend buying a Dry Robe to anyone. 👍... Show more

If you are looking for a waterproof coat - DON'T buy one of these
After much investigation into changing robes, which I wanted to buy for daily dog walking in all weathers, I settled on a Dryrobe Advance.I bought a size M ( as recommended) but being too large I sent it back. As there was not a size small available of the green colour I wanted, so I bought one on ebay as the weather was terrible and I just wanted something waterproof and warm and was happy to settle for second-hand.Sadly although the coat is lovely and warm it is NOT waterproof. I contacted customer services and was told that as it was bought from ebay there was nowhere to go with my complaint and I was told to spray the coat to re-waterproof it. ( Which I did, at an additional cost ontop of the high cost of the coat but it didn't re-waterproof the coat at all)But I think they fundamentally misunderstood my issue - which was that they advertise the coat as being waterproof and after a while of wearing and washing - which is the normal use of a garment over time- that they should not say it's waterproof as even if initially it is, after a time it is NOT.I actually found the customer service lady rude and dismissive and she pretty much implied that I just wanted a new coat for free !! And although I asked why a coat designed to be worn in all weathers became non- waterproof with washing she kept telling me the fibres were recycled , so apart from virtue signalling & eco- box ticking ,the value is what ? Perhaps she wanted a gold star.If it doesn't remain waterproof and the solution to re-waterproof it No 1 costs more onto of a high initial outlay for the coat and no 2 the spray doesn't even work and no 3 what is in the spray, I bet that's not good for the environment. So I guess you just have to keep buying new coats once they have been worn and washed for a while. That makes sense ...not.I will be selling this coat and buying a different brand. One that is and remains water proof.I would say that this is the MAIN attribute required for a coat of this type and the fabric used should be completely and permanently waterproof otherwise what good is it in wet conditions? I think if you pay £165 for a coat it should be what you bought it for.So for me this coat is a poor investment, a poor design( fabric choice) and the best thing I can say about this coat is that it is lovely and warm. As I write this review these key words of warmth ,design and investment are being ticked off from a list of things to be included in this review. Talk about pushing a narrative.Anyway apologies for my rant, I have as you can tell not been happy with my £140+ layout for a coat that will now have to be sold and replaced - the search for a waterproof warm coat continues.... I had looked long and
I had looked long and hard for a long coat to use for dog walking that would keep me warm and dry on a wet and windy north east coast. The Dryrobe has done just that. It keeps me toasty warm and allows for layers and to be quite honest I’ve sometimes found myself too warm and need to realise I don’t need as many layers as I used to put on.I can wipe the outside down easily when it gets splashed with mud. The pockets are lovely and deep and the zips mean everything is secure. The inside pocket is ideal for my mobile. The hood gives enough room to wear a beanie hat.All my family have admired the Dryrobe and I’ve even worn it on very cold days when I’m not out with my dogs. The only downside I have found is I sometimes have difficulty getting the zip started. It's just OK. Returned.
Unpopular opinion, I know. Was trying to look past the egregiously large logo badging front & back for the value of the experience of a known brand, but it's just not for me. Tactile alert: I found the robe to have a very cumbersome and "chunky" awkward, restrictive feel for wearing with inadequate flexibility and room for actually changing underneath, if that is yr goal (even tho I purchased the larger size per recommendations.). While it appears weatherproof, the exterior fabric has zero give and is somewhat noisy/crunchy. The zipper is oversized, but still awkward to use for cold hands. Experienced users "set" the zip at the most convenient height for getting in/out without undoing, like a hooded poncho (which is essentially what I've ended up using with much ... In a group of about 10, several swimmers have experienced zipper failure more than once and have had to get it repaired. So, it will do the job, just not as well or comfortably as expected or as other options do for far less $.... Show more

PERFECT FOR SO MANY ACTIVITIES
Well, so far so good! I've worn my dryrobe a few times now and with only a t-shirt underneath! Standing on the side-lines of the football pitch, I'm lovely and toasty and haven't even needed my gloves because the pockets keep my hands so warm! I love the velcro sleeve tighteners too.... stops the cold going up your arms! It's also good for dog-walking!My ONLY criticism, is the length. It's neither too long nor too short in terms of practicality but the bottom half of my calves/shins do get a little cold. Something to note for open water swimming which is why I got it in the first place. Actually, one other criticism which again is small, the sleeves could be slightly longer but that's my personal preference. Others may not have an issue with them.As I say, it's ... It certainly hasn't made me change my mind about the purchase. All in all, it's a fab product and although we researched others, this won hands down especially due to the fact it has a hydrostatic head of 10,000mm. A very versatile and multi-purpose coat!... Show more

Tried and failed to buy another brand
This is my second dryrobe. I bought the first one secondhand towards the end of 2018 and have worn it every day through every winter since then - for swimming, walking, photography and just general all-round warmth. It has had food spilled on it, been covered in mud and saltwater and (to my shame) been slightly melted at the back from standing too close to the woodburner (don’t try this at home, Kids!). Last winter, the zip broke and I decided it was time for a new changing robe. I looked at probably about a dozen different makes - most of them significantly cheaper and most making very similar claims re quality, weatherproofing, etc., before deciding to buy another dryrobe. I like the batwing arms that make it easy to get changed on the occasions that privacy is a thing. I like the deep, fleecy pockets with zips, and the large inside pocket (perfect for your underwear). I like that it drys quickly (unless it gets completely waterlogged, in which case - stick it on a spin-cycle before hanging). The only thing I am not so keen on is on having to be a walking advert while wearing it. I would prefer (much) more subtle branding.Overall though - I am happy and plan to send in my cosy old robe back for a new zip. And then I will have two!... Show more

Weighs a ton
I lake swim daily, year round. This Dryrobe weighs a ton and the lining is not soft. I’ve got a version of this from way back when, but these newer versions (recycled) are just too heavy. The one I’m currently using is featherlight yet warm in winter and light in summer.Dry robes have recently become a fashion item and a lot of people who never go near water are wearing them as coats which is absolutely fine but that is not the purpose that they were made for initially. There is no need for a robe to be this heavy and the lining should be really really soft to your skin because when you come out of 2° water You need something that’s warm but really soft.
