We have bought a lot of toasters over the years, some promoted as "good quality". We had never been happy with any of them, but I kept searching. This is by far the best toaster we have ever had. Worth every cent! I only wish that I had found it years ago. Constantly replacing cheaper ones that don't do the job is not only expensive, it's frustrating.

The best toaster on the market - easy to use, simple mechanism and the most even toast. So good to be able to replace parts. Too many small electrical appliances are thrown away in our 'throw away' culture. Once you could have them all repaired.

I love the look of the toaster, and it works well, however the Thermal Fuse has needed to be reset on a few occasions. Which means unscrewing the bottom and clicking a button underneath. That's not a huge problem but design would be better if the button was outside the unit

Delightful Retro Flair

I have the two-slice NewGen Classic in lime green. My old toaster was past its prime and not toasting well, so I decided to get a new one. I was looking in the $30 to $50 range but I read many negative reviews on at least a dozen toasters and decided, why buy trash? I have to admit to sticker shock at first, but quality is not cheap. Still, I was hesitant ... and then I saw the lime green one and it was a done deal. The toaster is manual. No flying toast from this machine! I like the knob control mechanism and the sound it makes counting down, and I like the round black knob on the toast lifter. It's easy to lift the toast to check on it without having to stop the toasting, and the pull-out crumb tray is conveniently located and easy to empty and replace. The cord on this toaster is very sturdy and the wire is much thicker than any other toaster I've seen (logical, when you consider how much electricity a toaster can draw).Did I buy it for the looks? No, but it helps! The toast comes out fine and the bagel setting works well with English muffins. I had a fancy cover for my old toaster, but this one is too pretty to cover up and too versatile not to use frequently.

Dualit Toaster
14 September 2023

I'm in two minds on this one. The toaster is beautiful, I love the lever for lifting the bread to check and it's quick - however, I remember now why I gave away the last Dualit toaster I had. It unfailingly burns the bottom of the slice and barely warms the top half, not the best outcome for such an expensive item. I shall just have to persist with scraping carbon off my toast in the morning!

Great Toaster
20 February 2023

Our old Dualit toaster finally succumbed to old age. We loved that toaster. So there was only one thing to do. Replace it with a new Dualit. There was no homework done on other toasters - why would there be when the old one was a faithful and trusted family member. It was the best toaster ever. So we move on with not a doubt in the world that Dualit generation 2 will live up to the same high standards.

Love it. Simple but does what a toaster should
12 January 2023

This toaster might to some seem like the iPhone of toasters - overpriced cult item with less functionality than cheaper competitors. However for those who had chucked out medium priced toasters that fail quickly or are inconsistent and finnicky, this is a great toaster. It toasts and it toasts well - simple. Toast tastes good - crispy on outside without becoming brick-hard and you can lift and check as you please. Defrost frozen bread fine. For the price we expect it to be a family heirloom and are banking on being able to fix (we are handy types). I am getting much pleasure out of it. It is also good looking. The only thing I wish it had was a little 'ding' when timer finishes.

Love this toaster

Great toaster. It toasts swiftly and evenly. The cover on the elements is genius because you don't get crumbs stuck in the elements that burn while toasting. Feels solid and well built. I hope to have it for a long time.

Madly in love

I ordered the white, which felt very boring considering all the options. But once it arrived, I fell in love with it. It has a clean, classic, vintage vibe, so it goes better in my cottagey kitchen than some of the retro colors would have.I love the little clicky timer/dial & the peek n pop feature. The slots are fairly wide but a wee bit short, so my husband’s favorite local Italian bread barely fits. I was worried that the metal sides would get super hot but they don’t, surprisingly. And I love that the crumb tray is in front. I never even used to think about the crumb tray but this one slides out so easily that I clean it constantly.I made sure I followed the instructions because it’s no ordinary toaster...the slots are backwards (England!), it doesn’t “pop” ... MoreI ordered the white, which felt very boring considering all the options. In fact, if it were an ordinary toaster, I’d probably return it. But somehow, all of its quirks make it really, really special.*for these I bought the rack that sits on top

TOASTER WITH A GREAT PERSONAL TOUCH
22 July 2020

The Dualit NewGen 2-slice toaster is the BEST TOASTER that I have ever used. Toast is piping hot, perfectly browned on both sides, and the toast tastes better than it has ever tasted before! I wish that I had discovered this toaster a million years ago! I love the personal touch of the sticker under the toaster that reads "Hand Built in Great Britain by Michael" which makes me feel that my toaster has been very carefully made just for my use. It is also good to know that ALL the parts in my toaster can be repaired and/or replaced if ever necessary so I have chosen an environmentally friendly product.
