I was somewhat skeptical of the new player's handbook from what I had heard online, but as my group was trying it I decided to get the book for our group and I do not regret it one bit! Martials get more complexity, with weapon mastery almost making martials diet battlemasters, and the abilities that encourage movement are really enjoyable to shake up combat beyond just choosing an ability to deal more damage. If I had to recommend any class in the book it would be fighters. The changes they have make them super enjoyable. Also the person that sold the book to me was absolutely lovely.

A great update for the 50th anniversary
