Sounds great clean or with any level of gain. Inspired me to play clean Bob Marley and the Wailers style stuff using it one minute and heavy Tool style stuff the next. Paired it with some fuzz and before I knew it I was playing my favourite Ron Asheton and James Williamson riffs. Nails that Jimmy Page style cocked wah sound too. I've owned Vox's and Morley's which are brilliant in their own right but the Dunlop Crybaby sound just completely does it for me.Also one of the first things my partner said to me when I let her hear it is "did you buy that cos I told you how much I like Jimi Hendrix?". Can't think of any better endorsement than that!(Fantastic customer service/well organised delivery from PMT Professional Music Technology too; especially commendable during the current Covid situation)

The 535Q Cry Baby Multi-Wah Guitar Effects Pedal also gives you the option of using a DC adapter or a 9v battery if your in a bind where you don't have access to an electrical outlet. I have been having a lot of fun with my new 535Q Cry Baby Multi-Wah Guitar Effects Pedal, and have not found any draw backs with this "wah" pedal, this was definitely the best decision in a choice for a new "wah" pedal. -Kevin F. Great sound, but not well made

I bought this pedal because I demoed it in a store and loved the variation of wah types I could get from it - it's certainly very versatile in that respect. As for build, it's a good solid case and mechanically it's very well put together, so no complaints there. What is surprising is that the electronics are (apparently) very cheap. Mine stop worked as a wah Pedal and would only work as a volume pedal. I researched this on the web and found out that it's a very common scenario with this pedal. Being technically minded, I decided to repair it myself (the common cause is a bad capacitor), but I must have spent an hour trying to get the circuit board out with no luck - the positioning of the trim knobs and the way that the two internal boards have been put together ... MoreI bought this pedal because I demoed it in a store and loved the variation of wah types I could get from it - it's certainly very versatile in that respect. Hardly Used -- Lasted Exactly Two Years

This was my first wah. I liked all the adjustments because we play extreme variety. But as it turned out, I set it once and then left it, so the adjustments weren't really necessary. I played 25 gigs last year, but I only used the 535Q on two songs. So I probably pressed the switch a couple hundred times over the course of the two years I had it. When it failed it while on bypass, it caused my whole rig to cut in and out. Others have had this same problem. It was a very frustrating set to say the least. As you can tell, I'm still ____ed. There's a one year warranty on the thing. Apparently everyone loves the switchless operation. So against my better judgment I ordered one and it is definitely the bomb. It's the way wahs should work. It's spring loaded, so you just put your foot on it and start crying. And it has great tone. I absolutely love the thing. The back from the 535Q fit on the new one so I didn't even need to re-velcro it to my pedal board.

I don't know where to begin

I don't know where to start. If you own a Wah pedal then you remember back in your noob days when you didn't really have much to go on other than what the songs you hear sound like. That in mind, I messed with a friends Wah and decided maybe I wasn't very good with it or it wasn't a pedal for me. Then I went to one of the Guitar Centers here in Austin and tried a couple more. Still was very very very unsure how people like Joe Bonnamassa and Jimi Hendrix got perfect sounding Wah. Eventually I found myself at my favorite guitar center in town, talking to my favorite guitar center employee and decided what the hell.. He pointed at this one and said "thats the one." I looked in and decided to test it out. I also had him pull out the Joe Bonnamassa Wah and tried them side by side. I didn't have to get past this one before my mind was made up but I tried Joe's anyway. This thing was AMAZING! I immediately paid and went home to add it into my sounds. I dialed it in to what I like (boost switch off, Range nob maxed clockwise, volume all the way down, wah range 1 hour from maxed out) and left it that way ever since, aside from having fun here and there. I lay down some rhythm into my loop pedal then turn this on and it changes the tone a bit while blowing people away. It also gives my guitar a little volume boost when I activate it so it's PERFECT for switching to lead. That's 100% customizable though. All in all I would say this is one of the two pedals I own that can be for ANYONE. No matter what sound you're going for, this can do it. That's the reason guitarist of every style will recommend this.

Loads of variation and tons of value
22 March 2022

I have owned this pedal three different times. Had some issues with life changes and that's why. That being said, I always come back to it because it has so much versatility. It does have the usual wah pedal tone suck when its on, but the volume boost can fix that. I love that you can change the range of the q and also select between different tones with the chrome knob on the side. Great value at its price point, I highly recommend this pedal to anyone looking for a quality wah that they can dial in just how they want it to sound.

Such a great and useful Wah. It's not dirty at all but the Wah sound you do get is so smooth! You can set the frequency, even the volume boost amount. Highly recommend to anyone who needs a Swiss army Wah.

Versatile, great sounding, well-built Wah
18 April 2022

I've been looking for a wah that can get along well with higher gain tones like the ZW-45. The 535Q can get very close! With the Q about 3/4 clockwise and the range on the second from lowest notch, it has that same vocal growl that ZW-45 has. The boost button is a totally welcome bonus given that I only use the wah for solo work. It's nice to know I can keep a supply of new wahs (the ZW-45 was discontinued years ago) if/when I need them. All Dunlops are built like a tank; I've been using them live for years with no problems from any of them. The 535Q can do a lot more than mesh with high gain tones; roll that range knob back a few clicks, roll the Q knob back to 1/2-1/4 clockwise, and you can get that quacky sound for those clean tones.
