These batteries arrived open. I ordered 2 sizes and both packages were open and loose in bag. I didn’t think much of it but then come back to look at reviews when the batteries weren’t lasting. Read the numerous reviews that have the same complaints, open packages, leaking, rusty etc. I don’t believe the good reviews are real. Sellers using other names have the same thing going on. I think they are scammers that are selling expired, returns or rejects. Walmart needs to see what is going on with these 3rd party sellers ripping off customers. Very frustrating! B
What is there to say, really? An independent study I read showed that Duracell lasts considerably longer than other brands, even Energizer. We go through a lot of batteries, and it seems true, although I've never formally put it to the test. I can say that I've found Duracells years after their expiration date, and they worked just fine. I have some in Christmas and Halloween decorations from over 25 years ago, and they still work fine every year. But other people swear by other brands, so who knows. I really like them personally. 5 stars
Well where do I start. My biggest problem is the fact that Walmart has these on the shelf at the store but they, for whatever reason, make it a shipping item and they use large boxes to send it to the customer. Such waste Walmart should be ashamed of themselves. The large box, the materials, all that could’ve been dealt with differently. The condition of the battery package looks like it was in someone’s junk drawer for a year. I also bought some envelopes also and as you can see, they overpacked those as well. Walmart has these in stock at the store as well. The fuel it takes to deliver this stuff and all the people that touch this box all get paid. Wasteful, Walmart needs to do better.
At one point in time, Duracell was king. What the heck happened. For the past 5 years I’ve had Duracell’s leak and destroy over 5 electronic items and flash lights. I store my batteries in a battery box in a dry location in a cupboard that is always at 68 degrees f.Two weeks ago I installed 3 double A’s in a transistor radio. I just checked them, and they’re leaking. Good to March 2028 my butt.I’ve come to my own personal conclusion that Duracell has forgotten, or chosen to cheap out on a once-good product
These batteries are awful. They power just fine and seem to hold charge OK when stored in the package. But don't ever leave them in a device for more than a couple weeks. I've ruined countless favorite electronic devices until I finally quit buying these (unless they are 100% rebate). I only use them when nothing else is available, then only in devices where I know I'll be using them up and changing them out very quickly. The manufacturer (P&G) used to warranty them against leaking and reimburse for device damages; that stopped a decade ago, and it's obvious why.
I've been buying these batteries for years and they provide ample power to my electronics. In fact, they are my battery of choice for most electronics. So, why the 2 stars? It's because they leak at the ends prematurely if they aren't removed from the said electronics after about a year. These batteries aren't good for things like remotes, clocks, and other low draw devices that can makes the battery power last a while. I've ruined a clock when these started leaking and, most recently, a drone controller with batteries dated for the end of 2023 on them. Well, it's still 2023 as I write this and all 4 batteries look to have leaked continually since I last few the drone about this time last year. I'll be looking to the competition for long lived batteries, but for ... MoreI've been buying these batteries for years and they provide ample power to my electronics.
