AA battery failures

I depended upon the latter items while living in Florida for many years because of the many storms that took out the power. I stocked up on many D's, in particular, for lanterns and lights. In those and other cases, when kept in uncommonly used devices, I've found the alkalines rarely crust over, although it has happened on occasion. I don't think they've ruined a single item in all my decades of professional and personal use. I've had to use and/or tried less-expensive batteries and there's a clear difference in strength, and therefore reliability. In rare cases in life, you find an almost-perfect item upon which to rely. To me, the alkaline Duracells are must-haves, and you can believe me when I say no one ever paid or even approached me to test these.

In one example, one hearing aid shut off while I was busy and did not immediately replace it. Over an hour later, the hearing aid turned on without intervention.

This truly is the battery that goes on and on!!!

Duracell has always been my battery of choice and on yesterday (11/26/17), when after all these years, I had to finally replace the batteries in Mr. Talking Mailbox, I was super surprised to see that the batteries were still in excellent condition, not an ounce of corrosion. It was simply amazing! My daughter was 5 years old when I bought this christmas decor; she is now 23. This is the 1st time we've ever changed his batteries. The mailbox batteries are used often during the season, as it activates conversation anytime someone comes near it or the wind blows hard. Note: I did have a pair of Energizer batteries in my kitchen drawer, but they could not be used, as they had lots of corrosion and these were new batteries never used. We've replaced Mr. Mailbox with new Duracell's: Exp 2027, but I think they will most likely out last that time period as well. I guess when my grandchildren are 25, he will once again need to have his batteries replaced.Thank you Duracell! (i've attached pictures for proof)

Worst Batteries on the Market
13 September 2019

Worst product ever. I used to like Duracell batteries and used them almost on all my devices. However, over the last few months, my opinion of Duracell batteries has changed 180 degrees. A couple of months ago, my emergency portable radio went dead so I decided to change the batteries. When I opened the battery compartment, both batteries had leaked ruining my emergency radio completely. Today (Sep 13 2019), one of my 3 (I have a 3 zone A/C) A/C thermostats was blinking meaning the battery was low. When I opened the battery compartment, to my surprise, both Duracell batteries had leaked so bad that they had ruined the thermostat contacts. The battery case itself had expanded so bad, it had ruptured and I needed a screwdriver to remove the batteries. Now having had 2 recent Duracell failures, I checked my other 2 thermostats and guess what? The Duracell batteries had begun to leak as well. So over the last couple of months, I've had 4 devices ruined by Duracell batteries. I now used Energizer batteries throughout all my devices in my home, in hopes that these will prove better, have better quality, better design, and not leak as they advertize that Energizer batteris will NOT leak for at least 2 full years after the battery life has been depleted, but we will see. But back to the issue: DURACELL BATTERIES ARE THE WORST of the disposable battery market worldwide. DO NOT USE unless you want your devices ruined by leaking batteries.

I've always opted for Duracell batteries where I can as I've trusted the brand more than any other battery, and these did not disappoint. I used them as a replacement in my wireless keyboard which had been on the fritz (the keys only functioning half the time due to dying batteries). I replaced the old batteries with two of these and the keyboard is working better than ever, honestly feels like it has more connection than I've ever had (ie no pauses in typing). I love the 12 year storage guarantee, but do need to say that the packaging feels a bit dated, and I'm not sure what power boost ingredients are as there is no explanation on the packaging. I would also like to know if these are made in the USA on the package rather than having to see the imprint on the battery - I much prefer to support locally made products. All that said, as above, it's a very good product as expected from a trusted brand, just might tweak some of the packaging.

Packaging of the product is great with an easy to open back so you can the amount of batteries you need for the occasion. I used two for a remote and it worked just fine. I took the other two to a flashlight and it gave it a nice brightness to it that I like to see with these type of products. Fully charged and with the guarantee that it could last twelve years puts my mind at ease. Great value for a long while. I don't know how much that guarantee will hold up but I guess I will find out in twelve years after storing them. I think the in storage part should be bigger seeing how that can be overlooked and misunderstood. Overall I will continue to use this product and share it's reliability with others. Good battery for a good price!

After purchasing these Duracell Power Boost batteries, I decided to put them to the test. I have a LED flashlight that I had just replaced with new batteries. I removed those and replaced with the Duracell Power Boost batteries. Both myself and my husband agree there was a noticable difference in how bright the LED flashlight was when the Duracell Power Boost batteries were used. And even though I just installed the Power Boost batteries, I have full confidence they will last longer than the brand of batteries I was previously using in this flashlight. I will definitely be replacing the batteries in other electronics I use with the Duracell Power Boost batteries.

I liked that Duracell guarantees that the unused battery will last in the drawer up to 10 years. I popped them right in and the camera worked. The style is sleek and they always fit. I trust the Duracell brand as it has always provided good quality. I never buy the generic or cheap brands.
