Duralex Picardie Tumbler 250mL Set of 6

Didn't come broken, was a little worried about that being glass. Ran them in the dishwasher after I got them. Little worried about that too, lots of reviews of shredded glass after being put in the dishwasher. I wonder if that happens if the glasses are cold b4 running in a hot dishwasher? Just a thought. But mine came out just find, all 1 piece. Little smaller than what I thought they would be; I called them my milk glasses, lol. But I really like them and it's time to put my 30-year-old plastic glasses away. Never know what's those plastic glasses are made out of. Shouldn't be a problem with glass.

I prefer the color Picardie for cocktails, but in the morning I want to see my juice and milk and water with the vivid clarity that Duralex always provides, thanks to the wide flat verticals that define the form of the Picardie. I have to replace these every few years because I entertain a lot and guests of guests frequently walk out with Picardie in their hand… or purse… or backpack. That’s the only way they disappear because they are virtually indestructible. I’ve never broken one in my 30+ years of using them, through countless guests at dozens+ of parties large and small. Do not buy the knockoffs, even from known brands. There’s no substitute for Duralex.

My flatmate breaks glasses. I bought 100 in a box, admittedly they weren't great quality and he broke them all bar 3. I only drink coffee out of a glass and was more than pleased to have bought these. I've already myself sent one flying and it was fine. I will buy some more but a size up. I use different sizes depending on what I feel like at the time. Thanks T& W

Just hand washing the 12 glasses to swap out the old with the new. Discovered the inside of 1 glass is extremely rough with specks of what I assume is gritty glass from the manufacturing process. It isn't as dense as an emery board so I can't file my nails on it, but size of glass specks is same size, 25% as dense as an emery board on 50% of the inside vessel. Used a green scouring pad to see if it would remove the glass specks, but they're permanent. Duralux needs to improve it's quality control.

Fell from 50" bar table and still perfect

I have dropped them from a high bar table and it crashed onto the hard wood floor with NO CHIPS or breaks. We have accidentally hit them and they fell onto the granite counter top hard with no breakage or signs of flaws. They have been exposed to boiling water from my tea kettle and are washed 2 x daily in the dishwasher on hottest cycle. The few times I hand washed them, they slipped out of my hand and fell onto the bottom of my sink unchipped. I have not damaged any glass in the past year of heavy usage which is the first time in my life not breaking glassware. (Note: I manage to break/chip everything, even corelle dinnerware/cups. )

Great Drinking Glasses

These glasses are exactly as stated. They are made in France. The glass is sturdy and very functional. The glasses do stack in the cabinet which is space saving. They are great for any cold drink including Diet Pepsi Floats. The size of this particular glass is also perfect for iced tea

Great glasses until they randomly explode in hand, not triggered by heat, cold, or force

I purchased this set in 2018 and loved them so much that I went to the local store and puchased more, replacing all of my old glasses with these. They have a great weight, shape, and feel in the hand. However, yesterday, I was holding an empty glass and it randomly exploded in my hand, sending shards in at least a 6 foot radius. It was room temperature and I did not hit anything. I understand that after 5 years, glass cannot be guarenteed, but I purchased these glasses because I wanted someting that would last. I broke one a couple years ago when it banged on a counter, and it shattered, and I had no problem with that. It's what tempered glass is supposed to do. So, now we are getting rid of all them because we are too scared to use them. If you do an Internet search for "Duralex Picardie randomly exploding" you will see that I am not the only one. I am very disappointed because theese glasses are great until they are not... Not worth the chance. Even though they are great glasses at first, I highly recommend purchasing something else.

Had high hopes..a few months in 2 broken

From the reviews and the name “DURAlex” these glasses seemed indestructible. Or at least as sturdy as they come. They do feel heavy and sturdy. However, twice now while putting in the dishwasher I tapped the top of the glass (putting in upside down) against the bottom of a different brand glass. The Duralex glass shattered. Into thousands of TINY pieces. There was glass everywhere. I didn’t hit the glasses together that hard and the other glass had no damage. And that glass was a much cheaper glass. It’s like it completely fell apart. Not sure what is so durable about these if a slight tap makes it shatter into thousands of pieces. So lesson for me is just because some thing feels sturdy doesn’t mean it is.  it’s a good thing the set came with so many glasses ... MoreFrom the reviews and the name “DURAlex” these glasses seemed indestructible. Have this set for almost a year now and am SUPER HAPPY with these glasses

Got rid of all my plastic & acrylic glasses and wanted a "once and done" purchase. Been using these glasses for pretty close to a year now and could not be happier with the purchase. I was tired of acrylic/plastic issues like getting scratched, filmy, discoloration etc. These glasses have had NO ISSUES at all. Surperbly packed, best I've ever seen. Actually came back for an additional set of the biggest glasses, 17 oz. each I think.. They do stack up 2-3 high if space is an issue. So far I have not dropped one but I will say one of the reasons I chose them was for the tempered glass feature, that product is break resistant/proof, not going to test it though.. PERFECT PICARDY PURCHASE

I really like this set of everyday glassware. It is smart, stylish and attractive and can also be used in a slightly dressier situation than the everyday table. Each glass has a comfortable feel in the hand and is easy to grasp.They appear to be strong and chip proof even after dishwasher use. It is also very useful having the three different sizes which cover every eventuality.They certainly are the nicest set of everyday glasses that I have ever purchased.
