I am very disappointed with this Plastic tape, while removing the sticky protection cover on the back the lettering smudges. I have previously owned a Brother Labeller for many years and never had this problem.Have I purchased a DUD ?

Thank you for your quick response, the fix was very simple and easy. The only question I have is can you make clear plastic tape with other colors, as some of the things I label are black or very dark? Thanks again for the rapid response.

I ordered a set of three refills and two aren't properly wound as there is no lead for the machine to grab. I tried to get the top off as suggested but was afraid to crack the casing as it did not budge. Poor quality control, and now I have to return the lot or pay 3x what I should have to use the one useable refill.

I saw from some earlier reviews that folks were getting tape cassettes that did not have tape visible for the label maker to grab, and I had this issue, as well. I just want to be clear that I purchased these over a year ago, so the problem may have been rectified. I also found the fix suggested by the Dymo employees in their responses to previous reviews to be easy and effective. I gently pried off the top of the cassette, carefully loosening it bit by bit, all the way around. It was easy to remove and replace and the cassette works well now that I have extended the tape.I love this label maker! Normally this review would be five stars. I love my labeler (gray LetraTag), but with the last tape cassette I bought the tape was not visible external to the plastic cassette, so it never fed into the machine and thus was a complete waste of my purchase. SO, IN THE FUTURE I WILL (and you should too) ALWAYS CHECK IN THE PLASTIC WINDOW OF THE PACKAGING THAT THE TAPE HAS BEEN PROPERLY WOUND AND READY FOR PICK UP BY THE MACHINE!!!!!!!!! Save yourself a trip back to the store because of poor product quality control.
Labels are nice and neat - a lot more legible than my handwriting!Quite easy to peel off, though smaller ones are a bit more challenging, and easily attached. So far none have fallen off.Plastic labels are easier to replace than paper variety, if you need to change them.
I started labeling my many scrapbooks and quickly ran out of Dymo tape. Since Office Depot is my first-choice store for office supplies, I stopped in and quickly found the tape. A smart employee told me the black looking tape prints white and she was right. Glad they have smart employees and anything I need in office supplies.

As far as I know, this particular cartridge is good & I'd recommend.Shortly after placing the order I rec'd notice this particular cartridge was cancelled. No reason given. I really wanted this color so I'd match other labels I'd created.The next cartridge came today. It looks fine but I've not tried this cartridge yet. Shipping was fast for this item.The laptop battery ... the website said it would either ship or be here w/in 2 days. Even with a holiday tossed in, this is not true. The yellow plastic tape is essential if you have a DYMO Letratag Labelmaker of this size. The plastic tape is far superior to the paper tape. The metallic tape is OK, but for most household and office uses, the plastic is best. Furthermore, the yellow is easy to read. A previous reviewer complained about not being able to obtain this during the Christmas season, but that fails to accurately critique the product.
