Its a good vacuum. There are 3 settings. Low, medium, and high. I never use the high setting because it dies extremely fast. Low and medium and more than enough for most messes and the battery will last I think 30-60 minutes. The only thing I dont like about the Dyson is the pink handle. But otherwise it is in mint condition.

A good machine, but not different from other competitors on the market.

Good design, and it is effortless to change cleaning attachments.I am not sure about the quality of the plastic used. Every attachment seems to be very light and delicate.Use low suction power. Battery life is too short to clean the whole house. Otherwise, the machine will die before you finish cleaning and then you will need to wait for recharge. Please consider the weight. The device is pretty heavy. The weight is centred just at the handle so that you will have a clean house and gym training in one.

The only thing Dyson has done right is marketing. I wouldn't say I'm the best runner in the world if I had to stop for a break and eat a pizza half way up a flight of stairs. The vacuum is supposed to be the sucker, not the owners.

Bought because we had BB Points to spend

Have used this for 4 years. Works great, but you need to keep changing out and cleaning the filter. I bought 4 knock off ones so i can rotate through them. My guess is this will probably last about 6 years before suction dies out or something breaks. The connection between the head and long tube are already getting wobbly. Also helps to use high pressure air once in a while to blow the head unit clear of dust. You would be surprised how much gets past the filter. We have more laminate floor now and this is handy to keep it tidy.

Everything I expected and more
10 January 2022

I love my new Dyson cordless V10. So easy to manoeuvre around furniture. And the amount of dirt, dust and cat hair it picks up is astounding. Leads me to think that my previous vacuums left a lot behind. It took a little learning the first day -- the three different suction settings and what they were for, how long the battery lasts, how to clean it. But it was all super easy and logical with illustrations to show the steps. I love the flip-open compartment that makes it easy to empty the collection chamber. It's so easy, that I am certain not to overfill it. The battery lasts long enough to clean one complete level of our house (we have two). Which is perfect as cleaning the entire house in two days spares my back. Thanks, Dyson! I just wish I hadn't waited so long.

Extreme signs of wear and tear
9 June 2020

I'm appalled by the state this vaccuum arrived in. I understand that I purchased a refurbished item, but the vaccuum (specifically the battery) shows extreme signs of wear and tear. I have attached pictures for reference, but the rubber grip on the backside and the edges of the battery are completety worn out. There is also a crack on the plastic underside of the battery. I'm honestly thinking this vaccuum was dragged across a cement floor.I was expecting scratches or blemishes on the roller, the bin, the tube, etc, but the fact that one of the most critical components of the vaccuum (the battery) appears to have been through really rough handling by the prior owner makes me regret this purchase. It also makes me wonder how long this vaccuum has been used by the prior owner to have been worn out this much.I don't mind using a product that has been used and returned in decent shape, or a part has been replaced due to a defect, but I'm shocked this product passed Dysons' own inspection. I always had a high perception of them, so I'm shocked that they would resell a product in this condition. Let's be honest here, this is not a refurbished product, this is a used product. Just look at the pictures, and you'll know why I'm so upset. I've never received a refurbished product in worse condition than this one. I won't be buying a refurbished Dyson again and I hope they know that selling products like this hurts their reputation. The other parts of the vaccuum seem to be in decent shape, a few scratches on the roller and the bin, but not worried about those at all. To be honest, the backside of the battery looks older than the 5 or 6 year old Dyson v6 that I'm upgrading from. Hopefully, there is no actual damage to the internal component of the battery, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was.I thought I was getting a deal as these were discounted so heavily, but I got what I paid for. Actually, I don't even think the discount was worth it for the condition of the product I received.

Not Worth the Money
19 May 2021

I was excited to finally buy a Dyson vacuum after hearing so many wonderful things about them. Unfortunately, my excitement wore off pretty quickly. My house, just under 2,000 SF, has all tile with area rugs. We have teenagers, cats, and a dog. I need a vacuum that can really handle a lot of mess. The Dyson Cyclone V10 is super easy to maneuver, and the attachments change quite easily. It does a really nice job suctioning pet hair out of carpet. If the only mess I had to contend with was dust and hair, this machine would be great. But that's not the case here. It doesn't handle ANYTHING larger than hair: kitty litter, dog kibble, large crumbs, etc all get pushed around instead of sucked up. I shouldn't have to sweep before vacuuming, especially when the vacuum cost nearly $500. The battery isn't that impressive, either. Set to medium power, I can only clean half my house at a time before the fully-charged battery dies. So either I clean half the house in the morning and the other half in the afternoon, or I clean it over two days. Very annoying. The dirt ejector broke after about 6 months of use. It's still usable, but it slides all the way off rather than just opens for emptying. Overall, I am not impressed with my Dyson and definitely am suffering some buyer's remorse.

So I've stuck with Dyson. Happy to go with the V10 for the much bigger catcher bin and longer battery life than V7/V8. Love the simple switch for the 3 speeds -- the turbo mode really goes! Plenty quiet compared to alternatives. The catcher bin also empties far, far more nicely than V7/V8 -- make the upgrade if you can. For a house, might need a recharge in the middle if you're thorough. The best bit is how practical it is to just grab and quickly go and vacuum when you notice a dusty spot, without worrying about cords and carrying pieces and all that. Happy to pay for the convenience that keeps my place cleaner.

This vacuum just made my life a whole lot easier
4 March 2018

The Dyson Cyclone V10 Stick Vacuum came securely packaged with form fitting cardboard. It had approximately 20% charge on the battery so that it could be used straight out of the box. The instructions said that a complete charge from dead battery to full charge would take about 3.5 hours.Testing the vacuum on both carpet and hard floor, I was pleased with the results. On maximum power, the vacuum is fairly loud but not enough to bother me. It did an excellent job and my carpet looked as though it had been vacuumed by an upright vacuum cleaner. In my opinion, you wouldn’t really need another vacuum cleaner for your carpet. On maximum power, the vacuum is fairly loud but not enough to bother me. It did an excellent job and my carpet looked as though it had been vacuumed by an upright vacuum cleaner. In my opinion, you wouldn’t really need another vacuum cleaner for your carpet. I tested the vacuum on my hard floors on the lowest suction and it still did a wonderful job of getting every bit of dirt and dust. Naturally, the vacuum was quieter on the lowest setting. Next I tested it on my carpeted stairs and I was very impressed with how easily I could accomplish this job. Going sideways across each step, the floor head was the perfect width for the stairs since I did not have to do half a step then do the other half. Plus with the excellent suction, I felt that it was doing as good a job at removing loose dirt and dust as my upright. It was so much easier to accomplish this task that I am sure I have found a permanent solution for vacuuming the stairs. Two of the features that work well together are the low profile of the floor head/wand along with the swivel feature. I tried to vacuum under my tables and they all have low shelves that are only about 2.5 to 3 inches off the ground. I could easily vacuum the entire area under all 6 of my tables by putting the wand parallel to the floor. Since the handle on the vacuum wouldn’t let me lower it all the way, I swiveled the handle and it all worked perfectly. I used to have to vacuum under one-quarter of each table as I moved around the table and now I can vacuum under the entire table at once, so this feature was very much appreciated. The charge lasted long enough for me to finish all of my carpeting on high and all of my hard floors on the lowest setting in my 2600+ sq ft house. I didn’t try the medium setting on the hard floors because the lowest setting was doing such a good job. I also used the lowest setting to vacuum some throw rugs and they looked great after vacuuming on that setting. The vacuum comes with a crevice attachment and a combination tool attachment that can be used as a brush tool or an upholstery tool. These attachments can either be attached to the end of the wand, or the wand can be removed and the attachments can be snapped in to the place where the wand was attached. This allows you great versatility in the use of the machine. For example, when I vacuum the back of my SUV, it would be easier to do this job without the long wand. The vacuum also came with a docking station and instructions for installation. The cord that came with the vacuum can be snapped into the docking station so that whenever you replace the vacuum on the station, it will be charging whenever you are not using it. However, if you do not want to install the docking station, the cord can be plugged directly into the vacuum for charging. The instructions recommend cleaning the filter at regular intervals, but if you forget there are LED lights to tell you when the filter needs to be cleaned as well as lighta for blockages, and the filter being attached incorrectly, so if you just use the built in lights, you should have no problem with remembering. The instruction guide uses a lot of pictures and not enough writing. It took me a while to figure out the meaning on some of them, and I could find nothing on recommended uses for the attachment tools.I am ambivalent about the trigger function of the vacuum. On one hand, it is a one button operation, but on the other hand I keep accidentally pressing it when I don't mean to and I have to hold it in the entire time I am using it. I think I would have preferred an on/off button.Pros: Cordless, excellent suction, size of floor head, maneuverability, run time, low profile, light weight, docking stationCons: Noise level, instruction manualSummary: This is definitely going to be my go-to vacuum for stairs and hard floors. I'll also be using this for carpet touch-ups in-between my thorough weekly vacuuming, although it works well enough to replace most full-sized models.

Too hard to empty
6 May 2023

It's great when it works. But it's SO ridiculously hard to get open to empty it. Then it's so hard to get the stuff out, that little square opening keeps getting jammed up, and I have to stick my fingers in there and it's gross, and they don't really fit anyway. Very frustrating evey time. The previous one I had emptied much easier. You didn't have to take the stick thing off and it opened from the side, so the little square opening thing wasn't even an issue. It keeps stopping because the thing is full.
