I was really excited when I first heard about this product a while back and the quality the headphones did not disappoint. The headphones had the nice heavy feeling to them which was a plus because it doesn’t make them feel cheap or flimsy . The headphones and the attachment for your face is all completely adjustable which was a plus for me because I have small ears it really helped adjusting the settings and making them comfortable. The noise cancellation feature worked amazing compared to other high end headphones I currently own . I tried them on while we had a bad thunderstorm with hail and I could barley hear the storm outside. The air purification fan feature on these headphones were more than I expected . I tried them on while we had a bad thunderstorm with hail and I could barley hear the storm outside. The air purification fan feature on these headphones were more than I expected . I was worried they were gonna be loud but they do have different settings but all the fan settings were fairly silent . I was still able to listen to music and barley notice the fan setting as well as without it . It felt like having a Dyson fan in your face. I did link them to the Dyson app and you can check the quality of the air wherever you take the headphones and that helps because you’re able to see how bad pollution has gotten in some areas. The headphones also connect to your phone so I was able to use my phone and listen to music and it even has a toggle button to skip music or adjust the volume and the quality is just as expected as all Dyson products ( great) . The only downside to this product was the top support to these headphones. I wish they had more support / cushion on the crown of your head because since they do have that weight to them it does hurt after a while. The battery life on the headphones are pretty impressive ( I actually forgot to turn them off and after almost a whole day and half they were still on !). I liked how the face attachment was removable so if you just want to use them for music or a call you can and then just attach them right back ( they’re magnetic) . It did come with a case which was similar to the one available for their air wrap but it has a attachable strap to carry it with you which I liked .Overall this product is great, It’s a innovative product just like the Dyson airwrap and the straightener it’s new products that are so interesting and worth the price because of the quality .

The person on the other side was able to hear me loud and clear. I did notice that noise cancelling had switched on while I was on the call and walking around.- Noise cancelling is really impressive! It cancels out all the white noises around me very effectively and minimises the conversations around- Played around with the Equalizer on the app and Bass setting definitely makes a noticeable impact on the beats in the songs. I do prefer that more when compared to Enhanced or Neutral settings.Cons:- Slightly on the heavy side, but the fit is comfortable on head...- Charged the headphones to almost 100 percent, then played music for an hour or 2, then I put them into the Dyson provided bag thinking it will auto power-off, but it didn't. After 2 days when I took them out to use, they were completely out of battery. Guess the auto sleep feature needs a bit more testing or I need to turn them off completely before putting them into the case- I played some YouTube videos on the headphones and then took them off to charge, but even while charging the headphones were still connected via Bluetooth and playing the sounds for all YouTube videos. I had to manually disconnect from Bluetooth screen within IPhone, so I could listen to YouTube videos on my phone's speaker.- While trying to use the stick on the back to increase/decrease volume, sometimes I accidentally paused the music/videos instead. I guess I need to get used to using the joystick properly, a bit of learning required there for sure

I don't know what I thought I was getting myself into, but this is better than I would've imagined. Starting with the headphones. The audio response is spectacular. I can adjust the EQ to get a well rounded, yet punchy bass, or tune it back to get nice and balanced tones for jazz or classical. I've listened to a few audio tracts that contain spatial audio and I was floored. While the unit overall does feel quite heavy in my hands, somehow I didn't experience any discomfort after wearing them for about 2 hours straight. The ear cushions are also very comfortable with anime padding. The noise cancellation was pretty breathtaking in a few environments I was in. Walking down the sidewalk next to traffic, each car was nothing more than a whisper, if that. I can't wait to test it out on a flight. With air purification I can say that my number one fear was that the air was going to be directed towards my eyes and cause them to become irritated or dry out. That issue doesn't exist at all. In fact, the airflow on high speed oddly feels very comforting and relaxing.Walking around outside here in dusty Arizona I can say the microclimate effect was striking. I am generally pollen sensitive and it doesn't take much for me to start sneezing or coughing outside. In fact, as I was starting to have a bout, I turned on purification and within a minute or so I felt completely normal. During a light jog the airflow did increase which was encouraging. Conversation mode also worked extremely well and I didn't feel like I was yelling nor did I have any issues hearing what anybody was saying to me even with an inside voice. The air visor is relatively easy to disassemble and clean. From a price point perspective, this product's audience is definitely not your average middle class family, however I don't think it was intended to either at this stage. I'm curious to see how much replacement filters will cost and also what degree of life I get out of them, especially with primary use being in an era that is very dusty. The audience definitely feels like it's for individuals who live in desert regions like me or large city centers that are known to be heavily polluted such as New York. I could also see iterations of this product, sans audio, for vulnerable portions of the population who would benefit from a personal microclimate of filtered air.I'll look forward to seeing how widely this gets adopted and also what iterations come next.

With a reputation for ground-breaking engineering, Dyson's foray into the realm of audio gear is nothing short of intriguing. These headphones promise to redefine your auditory and environmental experiences, creating a cocoon of sonic brilliance and clean air. In this detailed review, we explore the unique features, performance, design, and practicality of the Dyson Zone Air Purifying Headphones.Design and Build: From the moment you lay eyes on the Dyson Zone headphones, it's evident that design aesthetics have been given top priority. The sleek, minimalistic construction incorporates Dyson's signature engineering precision. The ear cups are wrapped in premium materials, exuding an air of sophistication while maintaining a comfortable fit during extended use. The adjustable headband ensures a snug fit without causing discomfort. The integration of the air purifying system is impressively seamless, with strategically placed vents that blend in gracefully with the headphone's overall aesthetics. Yes, they look, feel and are heavy compared to anything else from the competition; but like me, I expect most users to be able to comfortably use the Dyson Zone for extended periods of time with little to no discomfort.Air Purification Technology: The standout feature of the Dyson Zone headphones is undoubtedly the integrated air purifying technology. Employing Dyson's expertise in air purification, the headphones are equipped with a compact yet powerful filtration system. It captures airborne particles, pollutants, and allergens with remarkable efficiency. The active ventilation system ensures that you're not only enveloped in great sound but also breathing cleaner air. This is by far Dyson's USP and to see them incorporate this in a pair of headphones, no matter how outlandish it looks, is an engineering marvel. I tested this in Sydney's recent bushfire backburning, and although I could still smell smoke, it was greatly reduced and replaced instead with clean, cool air.Audio Performance: Beyond their air purification prowess, the Dyson Zone headphones deliver a rich aural experience. While it is just a little way off the market leaders in headphone sound reproduction, with precision-engineered drivers and sophisticated sound tuning, the Dyson Zone produces rich, balanced sound. The bass is deep and resonant, while the mid and high frequencies remain crisp and detailed. However, loudness and audio controls are not enhanced enough and Dyson needs to address this via a software update.Adaptive Noise Cancellation: Easily one of its best features, the Dyson Zone headphones feature advanced adaptive noise cancellation (ANC) technology that effectively blocks out ambient noise. When I was in Sydney city, a crowded food court, or in an aircraft, the ANC ensures that I could focus on my music without distractions. The headphones intelligently adjust the level of noise cancellation based on the surroundings, creating a personalized listening experience by simply tapping on the ear cup.Connectivity and Controls: Bluetooth connectivity ensures wireless freedom, allowing you to connect to your devices with ease, albeit one at a time. The touch-sensitive controls on the ear cups provide intuitive navigation through your music, calls, and voice assistants. Additionally, the mobile app offers advanced customization options, allowing you to fine-tune your audio profile and monitor air quality in real-time.Battery Life: Dyson Zone headphones boast an impressive battery life, offering up to 30 hours of playback time on a single charge. With the purified air turned on though, this reduced to a couple of hours only. The headphones also support quick charging, providing several hours of playback with just a short charge. Conclusion: The Dyson Zone Air Purifying Headphones elevate the concept of personal audio gear by integrating cutting-edge air purification technology into a sleek, futuristic and sophisticated design. They combine impressive audio performance, effective noise cancellation, and a commitment to cleaner air, setting a new benchmark for immersive listening experiences. Whilst the premium pricing may put off a majority of shoppers, it won't disappoint anyone who has dropped some serious coin to gain ownership of this unique piece of engineering.I like:Build and material quality.Active Noise CancellationEasy to use controlsQuality of air purificationI don't like:The hilarious carry case that comes with the Absolute+Crushable quality of the face visor.Limited audio equaliser controls in the appSound just isn't loud enough

Registration is automatic once you pair your headset through the application using its guide. Full control of the fan speed, volume, and a limited equalizer is available in the app. There is also information provided regarding air quality and a volume monitor that includes any outside noises it picks up through the microphones.Putting these on feels like putting a pair of soft pillows around your ears. The pressure and the weight are incredible given the size of this set and are well-suited for extended use. Attaching the visor used to direct purified air to your mouth and nose is easy with the assistance of the installed magnets. One limitation with the visor on is that you cannot rotate the crown of the headphones further towards the back of your head. However, you can easily extend it while attached if it is too close to your face and you would like some more room.I was skeptical at first about the quality of the air purification, but that skepticism was immediately dismissed when I put these to the test. Stronger scents were completely unnoticeable even on the lowest setting with fresh filters. Fans can automatically change speed based on your breathing pattern and will turn off once the headphones have been removed. I do think there could be issues with some people getting dry eyes as a result of using these for longer periods of time at high fan speeds. Doing a test fit/run in person is highly recommended.Fan noise is easily masked when music is playing with noise cancellation active but not so much without. At that point, these headphones are more of a personal air purifier and white noise machine, which may be perfect for some. The sound quality is great, but the volume is limited. You’re not going to feel like you’re at an air-purified concert using these. The comfort and unique air purification capabilities make up for that loss to an extent.Perhaps the biggest letdown during my testing was the battery life. With the volume all the way up and the fans set to the second level of filtering, I watched the battery drain from 70% to 30% while getting through three short matches in Overwatch over the course of less than an hour. With that, I have a hard time recommending these for gaming.Overall, these are great. The cost of entry is as high as you would expect with the name. I think it’s a little hard to knock the price when there really isn’t another product that comes close to this. And personal space with clean air in almost any normal environment is priceless.

Game-changer for those who prioritize both audio quality and clean air
9 August 2023

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Dyson Zone headphones with an integrated air purifier visor, and I must say, it's a game-changer for those who prioritize both audio quality and clean air.Comfort: While the headphones might feel slightly heavier than traditional models, they are surprisingly comfortable to wear thanks to their well-padded ear cups and adjustable headband. The visor, equipped with magnets, is effortless to put on and provides a snug fit without feeling overly tight or restrictive.Air Purification: One of the standout features of this product is the air purifier visor. Not only does it effectively filter out impurities, but you can actually feel the fresh air being circulated while wearing it. Whether you're in a polluted area or a confined space, this feature provides peace of mind and a refreshing breathing experience.Sound Quality: In terms of sound quality, the Dyson Zone Headphone delivers a good audio experience, providing clear and balanced sound. Whether you're enjoying music or taking calls, the headphones perform well in delivering high-quality sound. It also gives you an option to choose noise cancellation by tapping the side of the headphones. One aspect to note is that the volume control on the device may not directly correspond to the volume of the headphones themselves. Users might need to adjust the volume on both the connected device and the headphones to achieve the desired sound level.Battery Life: The battery life of the Dyson Zone Headphone is impressive. There is an auto on-off sensor that will turn the headphones to sleep mode when not in use.Connectivity and Controls: Connecting the headphones to devices is a breeze and can be connected through MyDyson app. This feature adds convenience, allowing users to adjust settings, view air quality data and filter life. The controls, conveniently located on the ear cups, allow for easy adjustment of volume, track selection, and call management.Design: The Dyson Zone Headphone showcases a nice overall aesthetic. However, it's important to mention that the headphones may appear slightly larger than typical headphones due to the integrated air purifier function. Wearing the air purifier visor might take some time to get used to, as it might feel different from traditional headphone designs.I highly recommend the Dyson Zone headphones for anyone who prioritizes both audio quality and respiratory health. With its innovative design and impressive performance, it sets a new standard in the realm of headphones and air purifier masks.

Good sound and nice fresh air, but…
25 May 2023

I have found the battery life to be abysmal. I have found them connected to my iPhone automatically even after I turn them off, so I have to leave them plugged in all the time otherwise when I go to use them the battery is low even though I charged them then unplugged them. I am just using them to listen to music while I recline heavily in my living room. So because my recliner has a USB port, I can leave them plugged in while using them so the battery stays above 20% and the air visor stays turned on. I like the sound quality, the noice cancellation and the fresh air visor works great. The headphones are too tight on my big head and become uncomfortable after an hour or more. They still don’t sell replacement air filters on their website, which is troubling. I ... MoreI have found the battery life to be abysmal. I could have returned them for full credit but decided to keep them. If I ever bring them on an airplane I would definitely bring the cord I got with the copper model (that I got to keep after I returned them cause the left ear cup had a malfunction where I heard feedback, but the new Silver model they sent me works fine). If not on airplane, having a secondary battery in your pocket to keep the headphones powered up would be a necessity if you want more than an hour or two of music and air filtration. So weak battery, too tight on my head, no replacement filters for sale yet, and the air visor is a bit too close to my face even when fully extended. If you try to adjust the earphones by moving them forward they will keep turning off. The air visor needs about half an inch of additional extension for people with big noses like (apparently) me. I have a bi-valve (like a C-pap but it also breathes out for you) next to my recliner that I can’t use because I controls my breathing so much that I actually become out of breath and end up taking it off. This Dyson headphone allows you to breathe normally and the air is fresh. When you combine the fresh air with music and relax, it creates an environment that I was and am willing to pay $1000 for, even with its imperfections. I don’t want to give it up. I wore the original copper pair in public on May 4th and had at least 5 kids in different groups look at me inquisitively and I uttered May the 4th , I mean the force, be with you. These are going to generate some strange looks and comments in public, and I do plan to wear them in airports, on airplanes and other places I haven’t figured out yet, but for now it’s just on my recliner.

Great Sound, Nice Concept

I will start this out by saying in general I am a huge fan of Dyson products so of course the Dyson Zone Headphones with Air Purification immediately peaked my interest. I will admit that my interest was tinged in confusion and befuddlement on the need for headphones that provided your own personal air purification for most people (although I think if these had come out 2-3 years ago during the height of the global crisis it might have been coveted just based on the concerns many had). Like most Dyson products you always feel like you are about to experience the most innovative and luxe product, right down to the way it's packaged. Like most Dyson products you always feel like you are about to experience the most innovative and luxe product, right down to the way it's packaged. This was absolutely true with these headphones also.Setup was pretty straightforward and navigating the MyDyson app was simple even if you had never used it before for other Dyson products. I was definitely surprised by the weight of these headphones although it was apparent that there was some heft before I had even unboxed them. Even without the visor they are a little on the heavier side and at least for me makes extended time wearing them uncomfortable (after the 30-40 min mark it becomes a bit if a struggle for me to not want to take them off which is definitely a first for me when it comes to headphones). Weight aside, the noise cancellation is absolutely top notch in my opinion compared to many other over the ear headphones I have used. For me that is the most important aspect of any headphones I purchase offering noise cancellation...but almost feels like it should come secondary when considering this particular pair. The feature that most would be focused on is obviously the air purification. The visor is interesting but definitely takes some getting used to. While it doesn't actually touch your face it is a different feel for someone using headphones. The ability to flip down the visor when needed is a great touch as well as the ability to choose not to use them at all...of course meaning you opt out of the air purification feature. Yes, I can say the feature seemed to provide me with fresher air than what was surrounding me but I can't say I have tested them in an environment that would truly make me feel like I NEEDED it (I guess the pollution on my city streets just don't fit the level I would personally need to experience to want to constantly use it) although I feel like it might be amazing for people that experience allergy issues in my area during the height of pollen season (unfortunately I couldn't really test that theory out since the pollen count has been extremely low since I received these). I do have to mention that there is noticeable noise emitted when the feature is being used. It's not overbearing and probably wouldn't bother most users but if you are sensitive it may be an annoyance.Overall, I can see where these will be a great option for someone that REALLY needs and would benefit from the air purification based on their exposure but if you know you aren't likely to utilize the feature on almost every use you might be dropping a lot of cash on what would be the equivalent of a pair of great noise canceling headphones. As much as I love the power of the noise canceling I wouldn't invest in these based solely on that. But if I were in a much more polluted area regularly or felt like I would (and could) use these on frequent flights without issue (this I am not yet sure if that would be allowed or if it would be something that may be an issue depending on the airline and the way they view it) then I could see it being a nice investment for some peace of mind.

Impressive in all aspects

I knew about these the better part of a year before Dyson released them. I immediately put myself on the mailing list to be notified when they were ready to ship. I got the model with all the included trimmings. I use these not only for flights, but many times in general walks and on outdoor projects when I am working. I am used to large headphones and the ones I used prior are AKG N90Q's - those are the same size and heft as the Dyson Zone. It's going to be a fool's errand to try and sell you on the audio because we all hear differently. Our ear are constructed differently, and some of us have hearing loss. Many come from cheap products or "earpod" style headsets that can color the sound, and as they are used to that style/sound of product and then move to this ... MoreI knew about these the better part of a year before Dyson released them. Our ear are constructed differently, and some of us have hearing loss. Many come from cheap products or "earpod" style headsets that can color the sound, and as they are used to that style/sound of product and then move to this product, their ears often times will not like the new sound from a different style headphone, so people will complain without realizing this. I use many different over the ear headphones and don't use earpod style phones, and being that part of my career is in music production, I take audio very seriously more so than the average consumer who may pick up these headphones, and I can say, I really am impressed with what Dyson have done here. Despite the size they are comfy -- like having marshmallows on the sides of your head -- and the sound reproduction is clean, roomy and sits well in your head. The noise cancelling is also on par with today's ANC headphones. The fit and finish is Dyson all the way.An improvement from me would be better battery life when the purification is active in the middle and high modes. I understand Dyson technicians had limitations and only had so much space and weight, plus you can charge them whilst on the go so that is major benefit!Dyson never said this was designed for Corona or any virus like that -- it was designed well before the pandemic, so it is not fair to knock the system because of this. Its air and sound purification only.As some reviewers have motioned, if you are worried about people looking at you, then do not get these. They will stand our and demand attention! This should also be obvious just by looking at the product! I can say I have had people ask me what they were, and where to see it in person, so there is some interest in these out there.I can go on and on about this system. The air is provides smells sooooo goooood, and the entire system has worked well. There have been a couple of firmware updates so Dyson seem to be making it better over time.If Dyson ever make a version 2, I will be in line to get it!I definitely recommend if you are on the fence!

Also an AUX stereo input port would be very handy.Although the ear pads are soft and comfortable, as with most hefty headphones, wearing the headset for over 30 minutes can be tiring. Lighter weight would be preferable. I also notice the fan noise when the air-purify function is active, which is less than ideal. While the air-purify function is excellent, its relevance during the peak of COVID would have been even more valuable. Nonetheless, I'm uncertain if it can entirely replace masks, However, it will undoubtedl prove immensely useful in crowded public transportation settings, like trains and planes.A major plus: sporting it looks undeniably stylish!
