Pros: Fantastic vacuum, definitely cleans better than any other vacuum I've had before!Cons: Because of the strong suction, it can make it a little difficult to use the extension hose to clean couches etc. The hose has a tendency to retract back into the cleaner. Otherwise it does a great job though!

I've used it every time I change my sheets. Seems to work very well. I like that it's wider than the regular upholstery tool so gets the job done faster. So all in all I guess it's work it. I wish it had. Erin included with the purchase considering the price of the vacuum.

I LOVED my original mattress attachment which came with my Dyson vacuum! I actually wore it out within 6 years! The new ones are similar but is shaped different and does NOT pick up pet hair as GOOD as the original model. Doesn’t quite do the trick. The attachment doesn’t run smoothly over the surface and the dust doesn’t actually get sucked up except at the sides. Would have gotten some cheap one that works about the same except that dyson unfortunately has a proprietary attachment system
I bought with scepticism but oh what a surprise! The effect on the mattress was remarkable. I cleaned my mattress frequently but seeing the results of using the tool, my mattress has never been so clean as now (other than when new of course!). The only downside I feel is that a Swivel Head would make it easier to use, providing more flexibility. Overall a great tool!
I love this tool (for cleaning my rugs) but I hated the little red felt pieces on the end because they picked up little bits of rug threads and never got sucked into the vacuum. I learned I could just dig my nail in and peel them off - with No sticky residue left on them!!! Now when I clean my rugs and and vacuum any dust/animal fur off my clothes, I don't have to stare at the red felt pieces being covered with rug and fur bits. IT'S CLEAN!

Since I didn't want the motorhead to be used on my bed and floor, I purchased this tool, expecting it to do its job - clean the mattress. I trusted the review on Home Essentials Direct as most of them said it works well with pets and does the job pretty nicely but I guess this really isn't meant for me. We have 3 cats that loves to sleep on our bed. Cat hair is all over our comforter, pillow and bed. And the worst thing is that I have allergies. This season is not the best season for me and the cats as they start shedding. I really needed a product that works. The problem with that is it does scrape some fur/hair off the mattress but it gets stick onto the red felt instead of being sucked into the vacuum. I had to use my hand to remove the hair on the felts before continuing my vacuum. And I had done it more than 7 times while vacuuming my mattress. Not only that, it actually does not scrape all the hair away (well, it does not suck the hair as well). So I had to vacuum the same spot many times before I move on to the next spot. Honestly, I think the motorhead itself does much better and quicker job than this. I tried it on the first night I received my motorhead and it works very well. It took me about 5 min to clean my bed (plus comforter). This took me 20 min and a whole lot more energy and effort. I guess this is what you get for the price you pay. I would have returned it if I had to money to buy another motorhead to just vacuum my bed.
Pros: Great little machine. Great for every day use. Comes with everything you need to do everything. Battery last to vacuum entire 2 bedroom unit on mid speed. It is almost as good quality clean as my $1500 Sauber. What you pay for is what you get.Cons: Plastics very delicate, can be easily broken if you not careful when you empty.
Just what I needed to vacuum my mom's mattress. Do not use the Dyson stair tool. It will leave a diamond checkered pattern on the mattress cover. Get the mattress tool. It comes with an adapter for the earlier Dyson models. I was glad. It fits the old Dyson Animal I have with four wheels and it also fits the Dyson Ball that uses the little red clip thing to hook onto attachments. Maybe someday I'll find and purchase an attachment to reduce the suction of the Dyson. It sucks too strong for light things like old curtains. For now, this mattress tool did alright. It sucks much harder than an Rainbow model prior to the E2 models. It is a workout, no doubt. I was looking forward in using this accessory but sadly it does not fit my V8. The diameter of the port is smaller. Im waiting for an adapter now to see if it works. Aside from the fitting issue, it is a well constructed plastic part from Dyson.
