A Dyson that does everything at a cost of weight

However, since my house is a mixture of hard floor and carpet, I will probably use the standard MotorBar head most of the time. The MotorBar says that it is designed in a way to prevent hair tangling. I haven't had the vacuum long enough to test if that is true, but I am hopeful.Aside from the two large heads, the vacuum comes with a bunch of specialty heads that work for various purposes. I found that the Hair Screw Head works well for cleaning car carpet mats. I wish they provided examples of the best use case to use on some of the other heads, because I am not entirely sure when to use one vs the other. The vacuum comes with a mount that you can attach to the wall, and you can directly attach two of these smaller heads to the mount. The rest need to be stored in a separate location (I do wish they provided a mount that had a space for all the included heads). The vacuum also comes with not one, but two batteries. These batteries are not just standard batteries but long-life batteries. They advertise that one battery can last up to 60 mins on a full charge. Unfortunately, while these batteries allow the vacuum to have a great run time, they also make the vacuum very heavy. I think some people will have a hard time trying to use the vacuum to clean things above the floor. I wish instead of two long life batteries, there was a shorter but much lighter battery included with the unit.Overall, the Outsize+ is a great vacuum. The long-life batteries are great if you have a large home. However, the extra weight of the Outsize+ may be a turn off for some people. I would have preferred to sacrifice some runtime for a lighter weight. I also wish Dyson would offer a hold function so you don’t have to keep your finger on the trigger to keep it active.

The thing is I already planned to vacuum over that area anyways so regardless of the laser I was going to vacuum that area. The thing I can see this feature being really useful for is if you shatter glass on your floor. No matter how well you vacuum your ground, somehow you always miss a couple pieces. I drop something glass on my floor seemingly once a year and it drives me nuts trying to vacuum every piece of glass. It will be cool to see if this laser feature helps me out in finding more glass when I inevitably drop my next mason jar.The two worst things about cordless vacuums has always been suction force and battery life. Dyson has always been able to supply strong suction for a premium price. Besides great build quality and modern looks, its kind of what they’ve been known for. For this specific model, I have experienced excellent suction force combined with strong battery life. I can clean my entire house and still have over 40% battery life left. That’s honestly amazing when you consider the strength of this vacuum. The hair pickup attachment works. So far I have tried it with my dog’s hair, and even brought it over to my friend’s house who cuts hair as a side job. She gave me a haircut and I vacuumed it all up. By the way, that was interesting explaining to her why I brought my own vacuum to suck up my own hair… Anyways, it worked really well and had had no hair in the bristles. Id imagine over time it might accumulate some hair, but its without a doubt substantially better than a regular vacuum head.I strongly recommend this vacuum. If you want a premium product that actually provides unique features, powerful suction, increased capacity, and friendly usability, then take a good look at this model from Dyson. It has a good charging system, looks great, and makes cleaning that little bit more bearable.

Honestly, I do not see the usability of this product (based on the quality of the material) beyond 2-3 years if left in a high temperature garage, or exposed to the elements in your back porche or if it is not handled with extreme care, which I don’t think should be a factor when using a vacuum cleaning. In a fair comparison with another premium product like Kirby (similar usability, functionality, and price) I prefer by far this Dyson unit, admitting, however, that it is very likely, that Dayton Outside Absolute (for awesome it is) will not last the 10 years that Kirby has given me without a single problem with the same results (although the noise, the heavy weight, the outdated look and the lack of cool technology where Dyson shines as a King)

The Outsize plus is well packed. It must have taken 10 minutes to unpack from the box.Once removed, I immediately put the battery packs on the 2 included chargers. The battery when fully charged is good for about 120 minutes give or take depending on what mode you use the unit at.The unit is very well balance but after vacuuming for 20 minutes your arms will notice it. (almost 8 lbs) The anti-hair clog brushes are a nice touch as I live in a female dominated house and 2 long haired dogs. This was an issue with previous vacuums. I was able to cut down my vacuuming use almost in half. Its nice not to have to drag a cord around or stop to reposition the plug multiple times to finish.I tested each individual attachment, the extension tube for crevasses, brushes, upholstery heads, and hardwood floor with laser. I found it to be much easier with this unit as opposed to my last upright. The upright would tip over numerous times when try to do chairs or couches, many times I would give up and just drag the fallen upright along until finished. The upholstery attachment cleaned our couch great, the guard on the bottom keeps the fabric from piling up or snagging, making it a smooth operation. When doing hardwood floor with the attachment, I turned the laser on and WOW you can actually see the dust and dirt show so you can see the areas need the most attention for a near perfect clean. I was impressed. After vacuuming, emptying the dust collector is very easy. Just remove the extension pipe or too, position the collector over the trash and the red release pushes the collector down and open. Reverse order to continue use. If the collector is full the vacuum shuts off till you empty. When you are in Auto mode the unit will automatically adjust speed for the type of floor you are on. You can feel and hear the difference when going from higher shag to lower carpet. If you have an area, you feel needs deeper cleaning just hit the button up top and go to boost until the area is cleaned. The only downside that isn't really an issue is, no bag to house the different attachments, I would hate to loose or misplace one.All in all this is a great vacuum, that goes above and beyond my older ones, Even after running them as a test before using the Dyson, the Dyson still picked up stuff the older Major brand units I have, missed. The old ones are now at the curb.I would recommend this to family and friends.

Big Time Clean - No More Upright Needed

I own a couple of different Dyson cordless vacuums, including the V7 Fluffy and V15 Detect. One vacuum usually doesn't have enough battery life or dust bin capacity to cover my entire house, so I've placed each one at different areas around the house. This new Outsize+ model finally has the bin capacity, battery life, and features I need to make it my one and only vacuum for the entire 3,000 square foot house. It takes some of the best features of the V15 Detect model and adds extra bin capacity and battery life for those who need to clean large areas.=== UNBOXING AND OVERVIEW ===- Like every Dyson cordless model, the Outsize+ is extremely easy to unbox and set up, though be prepared to sift through a lot of cardboard and protective packaging to find everything ... MoreI own a couple of different Dyson cordless vacuums, including the V7 Fluffy and V15 Detect. This new Outsize+ model finally has the bin capacity, battery life, and features I need to make it my one and only vacuum for the entire 3,000 square foot house. It takes some of the best features of the V15 Detect model and adds extra bin capacity and battery life for those who need to clean large areas.=== UNBOXING AND OVERVIEW ===- Like every Dyson cordless model, the Outsize+ is extremely easy to unbox and set up, though be prepared to sift through a lot of cardboard and protective packaging to find everything in the box.- The Outsize+ features a matte red stainless steel-looking color on the wand. It doesn't show any fingerprints, but the red color certainly stands out amongst my neutral-colored home décor.- The Outsize+ comes with two cleaner heads (the Laser Slim Fluffy and the Digital Motorbar XL) and five attachments (hair screw tool; soft dusting brush; crevice tool; combination tool; and stubborn dirt brush).- Two click-in batteries are included, and the battery is very easy to swap out when one runs out of charge. Two wall chargers are also included, so you can charge both batteries at once and make sure you always have a back-up. With both batteries fully charged, Dyson claims you can get up to 2 hours of run time (1 hour per battery).- This model is missing some of the intelligent features of the V15 Detect, such as the measurements of dust particles and sizes shown on the screen after each use. But I suspect this won't be a deal-breaker for most people.- Compared to the 0.2 gallon bin on the V15 Detect, the 0.5 gallon bin on the Outsize+ is 150% larger. This is great for vacuuming the entire house, but the Outsize+ is noticeably heavier than any other Dyson cordless vacuum I've used. Definitely something to keep in mind.=== LASER SLIM FLUFFY HEAD PERFORMANCE ===- The laser Fluffy head is Dyson's best innovation in years. I've used it for over a year on the V15 Detect, and I'm so glad it's included with the Outsize+. My house is almost 90% hard floors, and they have never felt so clean. Gone are the days of wondering if you've actually picked up all of the dust and crumbs on your hard floor. As you can see in the attached photo, there is a green laser on the right side of the Fluffy head that projects at a 90-degree angle.- The laser works great, though it is a bit dim on the left side of the head. Regardless, I have found dust and crumbs in places on my floor that I never thought were there. The laser reveals even the smallest amount of dust and hair so you can be sure you don't miss anything.- The laser does not work very well in a bright room. For the best performance, I have to turn off most of my lights and close my blinds. Not a huge deal to me as that is a small price to pay for a clean floor.- The laser can be turned off via a small switch on the head itself, though it's unclear what impact this has on battery life (probably little or none).=== DIGITAL MOTORBAR XL HEAD ===- This XL cleaner head is 25% larger than the one included with the V15 Detect and is mainly for use on rugs and carpet, though it can also be used on hard floors. The cleaner head has "hair removal vanes" that prevent hair from wrapping around the bar as you vacuum.- Once again, it works as advertised. I have vacuumed the carpets in my bedrooms extensively with this cleaner head and have not noticed any hair wrapped around the bristles -- it all makes its way into the bin.- Like the Fluffy head, the Digital Motorbar XL cleaner head will adjust the vacuum's suction based on floor type and carpet thickness to maximize battery life and cleaning performance. On both cleaner heads, you can choose Eco, Auto, or Boost modes via a button below the LCD screen. Boost mode obviously provides the best performance but there is a big hit to battery life.- You can also adjust the suction of this cleaner head using the red adjustment slider on the front. Sliding it towards the plus (+) side increases suction for heavily soiled carpets, while the minus (-) side is best for deep pile carpets or if you need to capture larger debris.=== OTHER FEATURES AND THOUGHTS ===- Like other Dyson cordless models, the Outsize+ is very easy to clean and maintain. The point-and-shoot design of the canister makes it very easy to empty debris directly into a trash can, though the added weight of the larger bin can make this a bit of a challenge when it's full. The filter keeps dust out of the air and is easy to clean by just running it under a faucet.- I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Outsize+ fits perfectly in my Floor Dok that was originally designed for the V11 (see photo). To get it to charge in the Dok, I had to add a bit of padding in the charging cradle underneath the plug/barrel to raise it up higher. The charging port on the Outsize+ is a bit more recessed than that of the V11, so you have to make the barrel protrude a bit further up from the Dok. I believe the newest variant of the Floor Dok is fully compatible with the Outsize+ with no adjustments needed.- I appreciate the variety of smaller tools/attachments that are included, but it is certainly a bit hard/awkward to use those tools given the increased weight of the Outsize+.=== OVERALL ===The Dyson Outsize+ is the new go-to cordless vacuum for those who want to vacuum their larger homes in one go without having to worry about battery life or dust bin size. Forget the old, clunky upright vacuum – this is your new one-stop shop. It has everything you need for hard floors and carpets, with the laser Fluffy head being essential to my cleaning routine. The versatility and expandability of this vacuum is unmatched by any other brand. Highly recommended!

This thing is really as big as you can possibly go cordless before it just makes sense to get a full-size or canister vacuum.I purchased this to replace my v11 that had issues with the battery staying in. The outsize + version comes with 2 batteries and the updated battery locking mechanism design shows that Dyson was listening to user complaints about previous versions of the battery. All my previous cordless Dysons died unceremoniously sooner than they should have. This Outsize+ replaced by V11 (purchased 09/2019) which replaced my 2017 V7 (purchased in 2018) , my 2016 V8 (Purchased in 2016) and my circa 2009 DC 31.I have owned 3 full-size Dyson vacuums since 2006 and all 3 are still alive and well-- I would go for those over the cordless vacs, hands down IF you have the space. If you live in a smaller space or want something more portable, then the cordless vacuums are worth a look but ONLY if you also but an extended protection plan. Every cordless vacuum I've had from Dyson has died sooner than I would deem reasonable at this price point. However, if you plan in advance for the eventual demise of your pricey dirt eater...BUY the extended warranty it is worth the added expense. The laser beam thingy shows me all the dust and dirt left behind and in horrific fashion. This horrifies me to no end and I've used it only once--I seriously think there should be some sort of trigger warning to prepare you for what you might find using the laser head! The laser head will make you think you just are living in filth even if everything looks clean otherwise. This shows me dog fuzz and dust that I would rather not see, crumbs under the couch I couldn't reach and all sorts of dust I wish I could unsee. I know the point is to get things clean but this really shows you what your Roomba missed or exactly how much your fur babies shed. Not recommended to use the laser cleaning attachment under your teenager's bed (or anywhere in a child's room unless you are mentally prepared for the disgusting things kids leave behind). My kids LOVE the laser attachment for grossing out family and friends alike.I love all the other attachments for cleaning everything else and aside from feeling like I'm pumping iron every time I pick this thing up, it is my go to vacuum.Bottom line: Buy it for the convenience of a cordless vacuum that has excellent suction power but expect it to die before it should. Bonus: you also get toned biceps!Value: Very pricey especially since Dyson's cordless vacuums seem to die way too soon. Worth it IF you also have the extended warranty.Pros: Portable, massive suction for a cordless vac and--lots of accessories to clean every surface you can imagine.Cons: It will probably die too soon and it costs a whole lot compared to other cordless/stick vacuums.

I wanted the best, I got the best.

I bought this to replace an aging Dyson V6 that needs a new battery. I was very hesitant at first considering the price, that is a major sticker shock! But I haven't regretted it yet and that's a good thing.1. The Suction: This thing is a beast, my carpets haven't been this clean in years. It gets all the pet hair, human hair and dirt until there is absolutely nothing left with one pass. I thought my old V6 did a pretty good job, but this is on a whole other level. Maximum power mode on this thing is absurdly powerful and for my hardfloors, Eco mode is plenty.2. The Size: If you're doing whole house cleaning, the large bin is fantastic. I can get through a whole house cleaning without reaching the max fill line. The Size: If you're doing whole house cleaning, the large bin is fantastic. I can get through a whole house cleaning without reaching the max fill line. Emptying the bin straight out like a trombone is great improvement over the old design, opens right up and pushes everything right out into the bin, no need to fish your fingers in there to get left over debris out. I think this is about as big as you can make a "handheld" vacuum. It can be a little unwieldy, but switching between arms it never became over fatiguing. Not as great of an option for cleaning cars though, buy the flex hose if you plan on doing tight space cleaning.3. Battery Life: Dyson has come a long way with their batteries since the V6. My V6 could cover the whole house when it was new on one whole charge. This thing can cover my whole house THOROUGHLY and barely get to 50% and there is a whole extra battery included! Although I won't need to hot-swap the battery to finish a cleaning, it's nice to have an extra to swap out to balance the wear and tear over the years. My V6 lasted me 5 years, this should last a good deal longer than that with 2 batteries that aren't being fully cycled! Oh also, it lets me know how much battery is left, a great nice to have feature that old models lacked. Plus it has two chargers in the box, so you can keep the vacuum docked and have the spare topped off ready to go seperately, great thinking!4: The Tools: This package comes with basically all the tools, most of which are pretty standard fare, but the two I want to cover are the digital auto-detangling brush and the laser illuminating hardfloor brush. The detangling brush is great! I have to clean a lot of long human hair and pet hair in my house and cleaning my old brush bar was always a pain. This thing works, don't even have to think about it anymore. It auto-adjusts to your floor and you can adjust it for tighter seal or looser suction (great for rugs). The new laser hardwood soft brush is great as well. The good news is you can see how dirty your floor is, the bad news is you can see how dirty your floor is. That being said, it's a great feature that helps ensure you get everything and the new brush bar is slimmer than older models so it fits under furniture much better. Also, removing the brush bar is now tool-less, so cleaning it is less work than before. Great tools, they work better and are less maintenance than older tools, great improvements.5. The Price: That's a lot for anyone, this vacuum may not be the best bang for your buck out there, but I can say it is rightfully top of the line in many categories. It has more suction and battery life than any handheld vacuum out there and Dyson's batteries are very well made. The tools are useful, but admittedly nice to haves and you may get away with less. Furthermore, at this price point I would like to see even more tools included, such as flex hose and angle adapters.BOTTOM LINE: This is an uncompromising whole-house cleaner with some very convenient features and time saving maintenance reducing features. You will get the best suction, battery life and battery build quality hands down. If you don't have the disposable income for this kind of a purchase, this may not be the value proposition you're after. But I think what you get for the price is fair, albeit not the best value. I was skeptical about the overall value of my V6 when I bought and it worked dependably and well for 5+ years (I still plan on using it if I can get a battery for it!). I'm hoping this will last me even longer which makes the price much easier to swallow.

Incredibly Intelligent Machine

I truly love this machine! Our log cabin home has six different types of flooring, and in addition to bringing in dirt from gardening we have a wood stove- which causes a good bit of dust. This machine handled everything! The high torque xl cleaner head is AMAZING and I cannot tell you how incredible it is to walk around the house, unencumbered by cables, and see my floors cleaner than they have been in years. This machine has literally cut my vacuuming time in half. The capacity of both the debris container and the battery makes it possible for me to continuously clean the entire top floor of my house without having to stop! The capacity of both the debris container and the battery makes it possible for me to continuously clean the entire top floor of my house without having to stop! The performance of this thing is just incredible- everything it touches gets so, so clean. I used the hair screw attachment to vacuum the carpet where my sewing machine operates - no jammed rollers! (I used to have to get on my hands and knees with a flashlight and pick up any stray threads before I vacuumed.) My husband’s wood carving leaves tons of little chips that end up traveling through the whole house. Due to the convenience and performance he has actually been using the Dyson himself to clean them up daily. The lcd screen is great- clear and easy to use and understand. I love the fact that I always know how much battery life I have. Also, being able to choose the strength of the suction is a sweet feature, especially when using this to clean upholstery (which it is really great at, too). I have also used the crevice tool to clean the dust from our log walls- which is just life changing, frankly. This is such a great machine- I can’t say enough good things about it. If you have a challenging situation when it comes to keeping your floors (and house in general) clean, I highly recommend this vacuum.

Powerful, light, and great battery life!

This is our first ever Dyson vacuum and it is incredible! From the moment you open the box, the attention to detail in the instructions, commitment to environmentally friendly packaging (ALL recyclable paper-based packaging!!!), and all of the accessories! I have had a fair share of cordless vacuums, including a second battery is basically standard after reaching a certain price-point, but Dyson does one better and includes a second charge, too! This is fantastic for someone that has a two story home and doesn't enjoy having to bring the vacuum up back downstairs to charge it if I get into a super deep cleaning mode and actually manage to kill the battery before finishing vacuuming. The controls are intuitive but I would still recommend a brief stroll through the ... MoreThis is our first ever Dyson vacuum and it is incredible! This is fantastic for someone that has a two story home and doesn't enjoy having to bring the vacuum up back downstairs to charge it if I get into a super deep cleaning mode and actually manage to kill the battery before finishing vacuuming. The controls are intuitive but I would still recommend a brief stroll through the instruction manuals to become completely familiar with the functionality, especially the different uses for the two rollers... the hair remover head, which is the main one we use since our dog sheds a little and my significant other sheds a lot and she doesn't care to vacuum or clean the hair out of the vacuum roller if/when it clogs. We have not had any issues with hair clogging any of the cleaning heads, or any other objects being missed by this vacuum. My favorite feature is the battery life estimator that shows the estimated amount of time remaining based on cleaning modes and power, this is an absolute game changer! Our old cordless stick vacuum would show this in the app and show the power level on the display, but not the battery life on the display. I could go on and on about how fantastic this vacuum is and how Dyson knocked it out of the park, but trying it out is the real winner. It's on the pricier side of vacuums, but it is loaded with everything you could want and I have heard incredible things about Dyson's support, if you need to contact them. I would highly recommend!

Versatile & Powerful Cordless Freedom

I actually like vacuuming but vacuuming with a corded vacuum can be incredibly frustrating. Inevitably the cord gets hung up on a piece of furniture or it’s simply not long enough. I love my other Dyson products which are high quality and innovative products so getting a Dyson Outsize+ cordless vacuum was really exciting. Upon unboxing you discover the interior is very jigsaw puzzle like with all the vacuum pieces and attachments nested in various size cardboard boxes. Included is the vacuum, the extension tube, two power adapters, two batteries, a wall mount docking station. Included is the vacuum, the extension tube, two power adapters, two batteries, a wall mount docking station. For attachments you get the crevice tool, mini soft dusting brush, stubborn dirt brush, the combination tool, and the hair screw tool. There is also a wand clip which allows you to snap an attachment to the wand. You also get two very special cleaning heads the Digital Motorbar XL cleaner head and the Laser slim fluffy cleaner head. All components were very high quality. I love the selection of attachments but I do think that one essential vacuuming tool should be included but is sadly missing. That is an extension hose. You can however purchase one from Dyson. The Outsize+ name is is appropriate since the bin is 150% larger on this model and the Digital Motorbar XL is 25% wider. Both are very effective for better vacuum coverage and longer vacuuming sessions before needing to empty the bin. i was eager to try the Outsize+ but I wanted to fully charge both included batteries first. I have a combination of hardwood floors, area rugs, and carpeting in my home so the two vacuum heads would definitely come in handy. The laser slim fluffy head is for solid surface floors and as the name implies it includes a laser light that illuminates dust and dirt particles on the floor as you vacuum. I used this head first when trying the Outsize+ for the first time. The laser is incredibly effective in highlighting the debris on your floor so you don’t miss them. The vacuum has great suction but combined with the fluffy head and the laser light, dirt doesn’t stand a chance. As I moved to vacuuming some area rugs I switched heads to the Motorbar XL which has more of a rubbery fin and brush design. While using this head you can really hear it working as it agitates your rugs or carpeting loosening dirt from deep within the pile as the vacuum sucks it up. This head utilizes Dyson de-tangling technology so hair doesn’t wrap around the head. There are three power modes while vacuuming. The first is auto mode which is best balance of suction power and run time. On this mode the Outsize+ automatically adjusts suction power depending on floor type while using the Motorbar. You can hear it in action as the machine increases suction when needed. The second mode is Eco mode which maximizes runtime for longer vacuuming sessions. The third mode is Boost mode which when activated ramps up suction for ground in dirt.Overall I really love using the Dyson Outsize+. I really like the versatility of the various heads for different floor types combined with the three power modes. I could hear and see the evidence of thorough cleaning. In terms of suction you’ll be amazed at the power. Dyson says you’ll get 2 hours of runtime with the two batteries. That’s amazing! I have a 2,000 square foot home and do extensive vacuuming on one battery without running out of power. It’s great knowing the backup battery is there in the event that the first dies before your work is done. Plus don’t forget the best part, it’s cordless. The freedom from the frustration of dealing with a cord is a game changer. The attachment tools are perfect for those specialized vacuuming needs where you need a brush or to get into tight areas with the crevice tool. The hair screw tool is fantastic for cleaning up pet hair. As for emptying the bin it’s a breeze with one simple press of a lever the bottom opens and the debris simply drops out of the bin. You should note that the Outsize+ doesn’t stand on its own so storing it is a concern. Dyson however includes a wall mounted docking and charging station which hold the vacuum when not in use. I’m not a huge fan of committing to drilling holes in my wall just to hold a vacuum. I do wish Dyson included a stand to hold the vacuum when not in use. They do however sell one. This is another great Dyson product. Highly recommended.
