This Dyson air cleaner, as its name clearly states, is both Big and Quiet. Like its smaller siblings, this one works well but is designed for spaces where the smaller models would struggle. It is quite imposing on the floor but fills even the largest of spaces with purified air. True to its name, this one’s main benefits are being both big and quiet. It is intended to be used in larger interior spaces like an open floorpan home or a large home with huge rooms. There are hidden wheels to allow you to move it around or spin it easily, and the Dyson app provides full connectivity and data from anywhere. While it looks like the top portion might swivel or rotate, it does not. Instead, the vertical angle of the air stream can be adjusted via the app to either project out closer to the middle of the room, or up toward the ceiling to reach further.Setup was easy as usual for Dyson. It essentially came as two parts plus the remote control. The “dome” portion just snaps onto the top of the main unit, then plug it in and connect it the app. The filters were pre-installed and everything started up smoothly. The app makes it easy to change settings, register it for the warranty and start getting air quality and filter status data.Once you find a good location for it, it will basically continue to run unattended; silently cleaning the air, until the filters need replacement after about 2 years of normal use.The main settings are the fan speed and the air output angle. I have mine set for automatic fan speed and the air tilt set to randomly change angles to create a breeze effect. It is placed in the corner of a great room that includes 3 open concept smaller rooms and it easily reaches everywhere.Overall, the main reason to select this Dyson air cleaner instead of its smaller sibling models is its ability to sustain clean air in large spaces without the need for loud fans and exceedingly strong air movement. Provided your needs allow for its size and price, this unit will exceed at keeping your air as clean as possible for years to come.

My wife often tells me that she likes the noise and helps her relax.The only downside to the Dyson Purifier Big + Quiet would be the cost of replacement filters. Dyson has always manufactured high quality equipment and this unit is no different. It’s solidly built and looks great. The design on the Big + Quiet is different from the traditional Dyson circular air purifiers and I find this model to be much more aesthetically pleasing. It is a bigger unit for sure, but fits nicely in the corner of our kitchen/living area. The colors are a bit different, but nothing too drastic. Assembly is basically putting two pieces together, the head unit and the filter or body. It clicks together once aligned properly, pick a location, and plug it in. There is a screen on the unit and combined with the included remote control, pretty much all functionality is supported. I prefer running the app, which is easily downloaded and connection with the unit took seconds to complete. We located our unit in a corner and aimed it across the room diagonally. There are caster wheels which make for easier moving and placement.Features & Functionality – The purifier can be run on manual or automatic settings and there is a handful of adjustability in terms of the angle and power of the airflow. I’ve been running it on automatic and it’s great to know that the intelligent sensors pick up changes in the air quality and adjust the settings accordingly. One of the standouts for me is how quiet this system runs, even when the fan is set on 10. It’s far and away the most powerful and quiet air purifier I’ve owned. Settings can be adjusted with the included remote control or on the MyDyson App. The app was easy to download, and the unit connected via BT within seconds. The unit does remove formaldehyde, not sure if this is a real problem, but the piece of mind is reassuring.Filters will eventually need to be replaced, the claimed life expectancy is 5 years for the HEPA filter and 2 years for the carbon filter. They are easy to replace and are available for purchase at Best Buy, Dyson, etc.Pros:- Dyson’s top-of-the-line build quality- Ease of setup and overall unit configuration and use- Manage the unit from anywhere with MyDyson App- Large enough to support our open concept kitchen/living room area- Very quiet, even when running on higher power settings- Breeze mode is pretty coolCons:- May be a bit large for smaller homes or apartmentsOverall the Dyson Purifier Big + Quiet Formaldehyde is exactly as the name implies, it’s big and quiet while keeping your home’s air quality clean and chemical, dust and odor free! The activated carbon filter in this product will greatly remove this particulate from your air and can be monitored via the app. As for the app, it displays a graph for items of overall air Quality, Particulate Matter in micrometers of PM2.5 & PM10, HCHO – Formaldahyde, VOCs – Volatile Organic Compounds, NO2 – Nitrogen Dioxide, Temperature, and finally Humidity. All of this information is displayed via the app in daily graphs by the hour.The product runs with a 1-10 fan speed rating with 10 being the fastest speed. I keep the product running on Auto as it increases the speed when particulates are encroaching upon air quality. So, if you need to quickly reduce the smell of some cooking odors for example, just put the product on your desired fan speed set its timer anywhere from 15-minutes to 9-hours! It really does a great job of this and highly recommend this product to improve the air quality in your home. The only thing I didn’t like about this product was its electrical plug. It’s 2-pronged plug is very bulky and protrudes 3-inches from your outlet. This makes it very difficult to plug the cord behind a piece of furniture against a wall. I hope you enjoyed reading my review and it aided in your purchase decision.

The packaging is excellent, and it is easy to set up. Pairing the app and adding WiFi was a simple and quick process. Within the first 5 minutes, it automatically updated the software.It is large and sort of looks like a satellite, but after living with it for a week, it started to blend in well. The bright nickel and Prussian blue color scheme would not fit it, but it looks nice and modern. The wheels on the bottom are a nice feature to reposition the machine when needed easily. You have to be very deliberate when placing the remote on the front, or it will fall to the ground, but if you take your time, it will click onto the magnets and hold it in place.The app shows a lot of data! It shows Indoor air quality index (AQI), Particulate Matter (PM) smaller than 2.5 microns and 10 microns, Formaldehyde (HCHO), Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), and Nitrogen Dioxide and Oxidizing Gases (NO2). I was surprised to find out this level of data.We have another popular air purifier that has been running continuously nearby. The Big+Quiet Formaldehyde immediately showed poor air quality when first turning it on. PM2.5 and PM10 of 55. Within a few minutes, the air quality showed "fair" and then "good," which was impressive.I find it interesting that the most pollution "air pollution" within my house seems to come from cooking. My kitchen doesn't have a vent that vents outside. The AQI quickly jumps to severe, and in auto, the purifier goes to its highest setting and quickly reduces the air quality to "good" fairly quickly. It is quiet on high 52 db per my Apple Watch.The air temperature that the purifier is reading is about 4 degrees Fahrenheit higher than my home's HVAC thermostat, which is about 6 feet from where the air purifier is sitting. This, I would assume, could be corrected with a software update.Overall, I am impressed with this air purifier; it helps keep the air in my house fresh.

Ive been a fan of all the Dyson products that I have used. My wand vacuum made by Dyson is truly my favorite experience for floor cleaning. Dyson to me does mean innovation. I've been interested in their air quality products for some time. Purification has been secondary to air flow and conditioning as I've been using other brands for purification so far. Since this promised purification with a good amount of flow I decided this would be worth a try. Overall, I'm very pleased. On auto it doesn't need to blow hard, but manually turning up the fan goves me that flow. The display on the center of the head is small but clear and colorful which helps to clarify what you're looking at. It even shows an animated graphic for getting to the filter to replace. Speaking of filters, I haven't had it long enough to know what the replacement cost of the filters are, but i habe usually taken the approach that air quality is worth a premium if it is a true improvement. My initial power up included the purifier analyzing the air to determine what it was facing. I was relieved to see for the most part i had pretty clean air. One thing this does that i have not had before is removing formaldehyde. Again it didn't detect this but I like that I have that for the future. There is a small remote with this unit, so you can adjust the fan speed from bed, for example. That is a nice feature. The one thing that I took a star for on this otherwise solid purifier has to do with the size. This is subjective, but this thing is huge. It is nice looking, modern I would say for that particular style, but it is not ideal for small spaces. I have a pretty small bedroom at the moment and this thing sits like a monolith in the corner. This has adantages, as surface area is key to filtering, but be prepared for housing this substantial purifier.

Very Large but super powerful! I have many air purifiers and this Dyson is the best by far. I suffer from lots of allergies which are worse in spring and summer. We also have two dogs that shed constantly and require us to vacuum almost daily. I'm currently running three air purifiers in my house, one in the bedroom, basement, and main living area. My prior main living area air purifier tried to keep up but would struggle. It also had an auto setting to adjust fan speed. When the fan was on high it was super loud and distracting but was needed because our air quality wasn't the greatest. This Dyson is the total opposite when on auto. I usually have one nostril plugged up or sneezing from particles in the air. With the Dyson I no longer suffer from those issues and can actually breath way better. This thing works so well that I can overlook the odd colors or large size since it does what it needs to do better than the competitors.Keep in mind this machine is large almost three times the size of our older unit. Thankfully we have a big enough space that we can place this air purifier without it being in the way. It also has wheel casters so you can easily move it around if needed. Some friends saw it and really liked the features and how clean our air was but said it would probably be too big for their condo or townhome. So, keep that in mind if you are looking to purchase this Dyson. The remote is magnetized and sticks to the bluesish housing (remote is the gold bar), which is nice, so you don't loose it. I also think the color combination is a little strange, silver, gold and bluish purple. Honestly wish they would have done just silver and blue or just kept it simple like black and white. It doesn't really blend in with our decor due to these colors, but I don't care as the air purifier made a huge improvement in our house.You can connect this air purifier to your internet and use the Dyson app to make changes or review air quality. If you do not wish to connect to your internet, you can use the display on the unit to get the same information. My prior machine did not connect to any app and the display did show each type of air pollutant, but I had to look up what they were. This Dyson has a guide printed on it (on the silver dome part) saying what each air pollutant is, which I find helpful so I can made adjustments in my home. The Dyson also shows air temp along with humidity, these are also very important to air quality. It seems like Dyson spared no expense and wants you to know everything you are breathing in. I liked that you can also adjust the fan angle to help keep the air circulating in your home, instead of just shooting straight up or straight forward like other units.I have a feeling that the air filters will be expensive to replace as all of my current ones are as well. The filters seem to have a long life and should hopefully last a full year. Once they are done, I will gladly replace them as this machine replaces all of my other air purifiers. If you suffer from allergies or poor air quality this is the one to get!

The top and cylindrical body is mostly plastic but not cheap feeling, and inside is mostly hollow for the air filters with the rest being the black magic Dyson uses for moving air without moving parts.The unit has some nice casters that allow you to wheel it around easily and the top slots in and can only be mounted one way with molding keys and the chip interconnect. Hit the power and plug it in and that’s it, fully assembled in 5 minutes.It comes with a TINY remote that looks great but is easily lost. Definitely recommend hiding this if you have small children. Plus the MyDyson app is essential in my opinion for full functionality and it works beautifully with the Big and Quiet.Download the app by scanning the QR code, it’ll detect the Big and Quiet over BT from maybe 50!ft away but to pair it, it will tell you to place your phone close to it or pairing will fail. Once placed close, pairing is super fast and then it connects to WiFi which allows you to connect from anywhere. One of the best app integrations I’ve experienced with these smart devices. You can also connect to voice assistants like Siri, Alexa and Google and that was seamless as well.So we know it’s BIG but is it Quiet? Yes! If you manually set the speed you will hear it but it still isn’t loud, just like a gush of air. On Auto it’ll automatically ramp up if it detects poor air quality, once it’s done cleaning it will ramp down and it’s virtually inaudible. The LCD unit shows the AQ as well as a color gradient band from red (poor) yellow orange then green (good) and the speed will adjust from that.It’s great for sleeping as it’s like white noise and you can keep the air speed higher to provide a nice breeze to circulate clean air. It’s really impressive as you can feel the air from a good 20 feet away on medium speed. My wife loves it because she likes both white noise and a breeze. You can also set Night Mode which dims the display since she likes it really dark, we only wish it totally turned off the display. Lastly, you can adjust the air direction from 0, 25 and 50 degrees.The only negatives imo is there is no oscillating function, the large size and the fact it needs to be 3.5’ from a wall. My picture shows it closer before I saw that recommendation. The industrial look is subjective and growing on me and it honestly looks better than some of the similarly powerful and expensive tower style purifiers.Lastly, the filters are reasonably priced and seem easy enough to replace as the app walks you through the process which is a great touch. The carbon filter is recommended to be replaced every 2 years and the HEPA formaldehyde filter every 5 years. I treat some of these cheaper units as disposable because the filters cost almost as much as a new unit but on something like this, I’ll definitely invest in replacements.Overall this is a great air filter and circulator. Air quality in my home is important to me since I have family members with breathing issues and allergies. The two parts snap together and then it’s just a matter of powering it on and getting the Dyson app. You just add a device. Here the Big + Quiet connects first via bluetooth and then you’re prompted to connect to your wifi network. Now you can control the unit with the app or with the remote. The advantage of the app is you can see room temperature, air quality, and humidity and filter levels. These are also visible on the lcd screen on the unit itself. You can also control it via your favorite voice assistant whether it be Alexa, Siri, or Google. Due to the size of the BP03 I found room placement a bit tricky. Dyson suggest that it should be in a corner of a room and about 3.5 feet from the wall and with the conic amplifier facing the length of the longest wall or facing diagonally across the room. The Big + Quiet comes with the HEPA and activated carbon filters installed. The HEPA filter is rated to last up to 5 years and the activated carbon filter solid should last up to 2 years. The BP03 will prompt you when it’s time to change either. I like how the Big + Quiet circulates the air as it cleans it. You can adjust the airflow speed and air direction from 0° to 50° and like the name says it is quiet. I like that the unit doesn’t just clean the air, it also monitors air quality so you know when it’s working. It also lets you know what exactly is negatively impacting your air quality whether it be particulate matter, VOCs, carbon dioxide, oxidizing gases, or formaldehyde. After only one day of use I could even tell that my home smelled noticeably better and even cleaner. I am also confident that it has helped with family members allergies. Highly recommended.
