The Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer in Prussian Blue is engineered to deliver fast drying with control and precision. Driven by the high-speed digital motor V9, it produces a concentrated, high-pressure airflow to dry hair efficiently without relying on extreme heat. Designed with performance in mind, it supports consistent results across a wide range of hair types and styles. Intelligent heat control helps to protect hair by measuring air temperature over 40 times a second and adjusting the heat output. This continuous regulation is designed to minimise heat damage, helping to maintain the natural look and feel of the hair. Whether used daily or occasionally, the Dyson Supersonic provides a dependable drying experience with built-in safeguards for hair health. With three included attachments, it offers flexibility for a range of styling needs. The flyaway attachment directs airflow to help create smooth finishes. The styling concentrator focuses air precisely for shaping sections, while the Gentle Air attachment diffuses airflow for a softer drying experience. An intelligent sensor also detects when the unit is set down mid-style, automatically reducing heat and airflow to suit in-between moments.

Like many I hesitated over this purchase because of the steep price! I gave up blow drying my hair years ago because I lacked the time, patience or skill to spend 30+ minutes using a hair dryer and ending up with a frizzy mop that just got bundled up into a pony tail. My default was putting my hair in a bun wet and letting it air dry that way, hoping to tame the frizz and basically just keeping my hair out of the way. If I had an early meeting or had to get out the door fast there was no way I could wash my hair unless it was the night before, and I hate going to bed with wet hair. All of that has changed with the Dyson. I can dry my hair in 6 minutes flat with the gentle air attachment - and not just dry, but out-the-door ready with my hair down and looking styled with minimal effort. The diffuser takes 8-10 minutes and the extra time is because I have to tame the front a little with some product after I am done drying. I let my daughter try it - she has much longer and thicker hair than me, but the diffuser took her about 8 minutes too, down from the 45+ minutes it normally takes her. Even better, I don’t feel the extreme heat or burning on my scalp that I have felt with other dryers and the noise, for me at least, is much more tolerable. I read a review that said the Dyson Supersonic is only worth it for people who wash and dry their hair every day, but I think the Dyson is also worth it for someone like me who had totally given up on blow drying and styling their hair. I have worn my hair down more times in the last three weeks than the last three years and for maybe the first time in my life I am enjoying my hair as an “accessory” in a way that until now I was only able to do with trips to the salon. Early morning meeting? Last minute date night? No problem. I know I can wash my hair and be ready to go in literally minutes. Drying my hair now takes less time than washing it and getting dressed and the weird part is I actually look forward to doing it. I am sure this reads like a promotional review, but it is just so refreshing to spend money on something that truly does what it says it’s going to do that I felt I had to share my overwhelmingly positive experience. If I have to give a negative it’s the case, which looks gorgeous but is not very practical. The inserts are all cardboard and unless you want to spend more time taking your hair dryer out and putting it away than it takes to actually dry your hair, you will probably end up getting rid of those flimsy pieces pretty quickly. That means your beautiful, expensive hair dryer ends up getting shoved in the box on top or underneath of all the attachments and it is not a very practical or elegant solution. An option for a stand or wall mount instead of the expensive but not very helpful case would be great. Other than that, thanks Dyson, for a game changing product.

This is without a doubt the best blow dryer out there. It is soooo worth all the hype it gets. It's such a pleasure to use! Because it is super powerfull and yet super silent, it blow dryes your hair like nothing else, super fast while making it super soft, silky shine, gives you volume while eliminating all the frizz and flyaways, and the best part of all is that it does it without damaging your hair! No smoke, no burnt smell, it never gets to that crazy heat point, I can see how there is so much technology invested in this product because I can get a beautifull smooth straight blow dry with the medium heat in 10 min, something I could never do before, I always had to use the max heat level to be able to get it to smooth straight and it ended up damaging my hair, ... MoreThis is without a doubt the best blow dryer out there. This for me is worth every penny because it's an investement in my hair's health. I have an air purifier in my bedroom because where I live the quality of the air is terrible. The air quality has an indicator from 001 micrograms/cm3 (perfectly clean air) to 600+ micrograms/cm3 (nasty air), when I my previous blow dryer after 15 min my air purifier whent from 001 micrograms/cm3 to 600+ micrograms/cm3, with the Dyson supersonic hair dryer it goes from 001 micrograms/cm3 to 60 micrograms/cm3 and the light it's still green, which means the air is clean enough. That for me told me that what Dyson claims about it checking the temperature 30 timer per min and it not burning your hair at all, it's real. Best money I've spent this year. PS: I got the european version sold in Sephora Spain to be able to use it in Chile where I live. The US version doesn't work here.

I’m a skeptic when it comes to some styling equipment, like how different can a machine that blows air at your head be from any other device that does the same thing? The Dyson definitely changed my mind and made me a believer that higher quality and better technology can be a game changer for your hair. The dryer is light, quiet, has a nice long thick cord, has the right balance of heat and power as well as a cool setting to lock styles in place. Mine came with attachments, I use the concentrator often with my round brush for a fresh blown out look. Without the attachments the dryer gives an excellent rough dry and gets the job done quickly. Overall, it’s still a heat styling tool so, continuing to style using heat isn’t going to repair hair and this dryer doesn’t ... MoreI’m a skeptic when it comes to some styling equipment, like how different can a machine that blows air at your head be from any other device that does the same thing? Overall, it’s still a heat styling tool so, continuing to style using heat isn’t going to repair hair and this dryer doesn’t claim to do that, what I think it does help with is limiting dry time length without blasting your hair with fire heat. It’s got that perfect balance of heat and airflow. Lastly - Dyson dryer vs airwrap, I have ZERO regrets about the dryer and am glad I got the dryer instead of the airwrap. I bought some cheap airwrap like curling attachments that fit on dyson dryer, they work beautifully, curls look wonderful but I don’t find them to be a replacement for my t3 curling iron. I don’t find my airwrap type curls to stay as long as using a regular curling iron. I also don’t think this is do the the attachments being cheap, I’ve used the real airwrap before and it just wants a replacement a traditional iron and buying the actual airwrap vs the dryer would have been a waste, for me. For anyone thinking about dryer vs airwrap, in my opinion the dyson dryer is better splurge for your money.

First off, the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer is the centerpiece of this set, and it's truly a remarkable piece of technology. It's powered by a digital motor that's not only incredibly powerful, but also compact enough to be placed in the handle rather than the head, which makes the dryer much more balanced and comfortable to hold than traditional models. The motor can spin up to 110,000 times per minute, which allows it to move 13 liters of air per second. This means your hair can be dried quickly and efficiently, reducing the amount of time you need to expose your hair to heat and potentially damage it. Speaking of heat, the Supersonic Hair Dryer has a microprocessor that measures the air temperature 20 times every second to ensure it never gets too hot. Speaking of heat, the Supersonic Hair Dryer has a microprocessor that measures the air temperature 20 times every second to ensure it never gets too hot. This is a fantastic feature as it protects your hair from extreme heat damage and helps to maintain your hair's natural shine. The set also includes several magnetic attachments, such as a smoothing nozzle, styling concentrator, and diffuser. These are designed to cater to different hair types and desired styles. They're easy to adjust and stay cool to the touch, even during use. The Dyson Supersonic Hair Set also comes with a non-slip mat and a storage hanger, which are small but thoughtful additions that enhance the overall user experience. One potential downside is the cost. The Dyson Supersonic Hair Set is definitely an investment. However, considering the innovative technology and high-quality materials used, not to mention the potential benefits for your hair's health and appearance, many users feel it's worth the price. In conclusion, the Dyson Supersonic Hair Set is a high-end, high-performance hair care tool that's designed to dry your hair quickly and protect it from heat damage. It's a well-thought-out product with innovative features and quality construction. If it fits within your budget, it could be a great addition to your hair care routine.

The company's reputation for standing behind their products and providing excellent customer service further convinced me that I could trust the Dyson hair dryer. Overall, my processing experience with Dyson and their hair dryer was characterized by trust in the brand, positive reviews, innovative design, and strong customer support. I'm happy to report that my trust in Dyson was well-founded, as the Dyson hair dryer has lived up to its reputation, delivering excellent performance and making it a worthwhile investment in my hair care routine.

Brilliant - especially new attachments
14 May 2023

I ordered a Supersonic when it was first launched with just 3 attachments and my hair was still quite short. I really didn't find any difference from my existing Fransen Professional hairdryer that I'd had for nearly 40 years and was still going strong, so I returned the Supersonic.I've now decided to grow my hair: This is going to be a bit of a nightmare as it's naturally wavy, very thick and coarse - classic Celtic red hair. When I let it dry naturally, it takes most of the day and my faithful Fransen, which only has a concentrator nozzle and a diffuser attachment is definitely about to conk out! When I saw that this now had the additional attachments, I decided to give it another try. I chose this option over the slightly less expensive nickel/black/fuchsia ... MoreI ordered a Supersonic when it was first launched with just 3 attachments and my hair was still quite short. When I let it dry naturally, it takes most of the day and my faithful Fransen, which only has a concentrator nozzle and a diffuser attachment is definitely about to conk out! When I saw that this now had the additional attachments, I decided to give it another try. I chose this option over the slightly less expensive nickel/black/fuchsia item, as this came with the storage case.So what's the verdict this time around - brilliant! On my old hairdryer I had to use the highest heat/speed setting to get my still very short hair dry; it took about 30 minutes and left my hair really frizzy, so then I needed loads of product before and after drying to get any smoothness or definition. With the Supersonic, I used the lowest heat/speed setting and was done in under 10 minutes. I tried both the 'gentle dry' ripple attachment and the wide comb to finger dry the roots without blowing all the wave out of my hair, followed by the diffuser for just a few minutes to take most of the water out, then left it a bit damp to finish air drying naturally, which only took about another hour as opposed to most of the day if I'd just towel dried it and left it.The only attachment that I've not yet used is the smoothing one, which I may not need, but you never know!My hair is now the shiniest and softest it's ever been - even when left to airdry. The texture also has more definition and as my hair is growing the waves are turning into defined curls.Yes, this is expensive, but it's worth every penny!

Broke after 3 years! No help and no replacement!
14 January 2024

Bought from qvc when first came out after a long time debating huge cost but presenter Abby convinced me and initially I found it good for my natural curls. It wasn't whisper quiet like stated, sound still scared my dog but I wasn't really bothered about sound. I only used it with diffuser for our families curly hair. I found after about 40 seconds on medium my Dyson kept cutting out as if it was too hot and I kept having to wait a few minutes to use again. Presenter Abby keeps saying time and time again it cannot overheat , this is not the case, constantly overheating was a pain so I called customer service and was told I must be using it wrong and to lower heat settings! Even though they constantly say on TV it cannot overheat! Hence huge price tag. Even though they constantly say on TV it cannot overheat! Hence huge price tag. My daughter has afro type curls and she hated it, her curls are so thick with hair down her back after 15 minutes of just making her hot and frizzing her curls she stopped trying. ( she normally leaves hair to dry naturally and yes she left it for almost an hour before using dyson, it wasnt soaking wet)Anyway this over heating continued even though it was only used once a week for my hair, it was taking over 30-40 minutes to dry as it kept stopping after a minute and having to wait for it to cool down and start again.!After about 2 and a half years it stopped working completely so I called qvc who said their warranty was only 1 year qnd told me to contact Dyson. I contacted Dyson only to be told their warranty had also expired!I even contacted Presenter Abby who says she will get back to anyone with questions or concerns, she never bothered getting back to me.I had my previous hairdryer for over 10 years and that only cost £30, this one was ten times that price at £300 and lasted 3 years!!So unless you are happy to throw it away after a few years don't waste your hard earned money like i did! Went back to high Street dryer that cost £40 ,and hair never looked so good!I am a disabled mum who cannot afford to throw money away but I thought this would be a good investment for myself and my daughter, it was not!! Very costly mistake that has been very upsetting!!

The magnetic attachments are a genius touch, making it effortless to switch between the smoothing nozzle, styling concentrator, and diffuser. But what truly sets the Dyson Supersonic apart is its performance. The intelligent heat control prevents extreme temperatures, protecting my hair from damage while still delivering quick and efficient drying. I've noticed a significant reduction in frizz and an overall improvement in the health of my hair since making the switch. The powerful airflow is surprisingly quiet, a pleasant departure from the noisy hair dryers I've used in the past. The three precise speed settings and four heat settings provide versatility for all hair types and styles. I appreciate the cold shot button for setting my style and adding an extra layer of shine. The lightweight design makes it easy to handle, and the balanced weight distribution prevents arm fatigue during longer styling sessions. I also love the fact that it's compact, making it convenient for travel. While the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer comes with a higher price tag, the investment is undoubtedly worth it for the quality and performance it delivers. This isn't just a hair dryer; it's a styling tool that genuinely cares for the health of your hair. If you're serious about your hair care routine and are looking for a game-changer, the Dyson Supersonic is the way to go. I couldn't be happier with my purchase!

[Rewarded Review] Best professional-quality hair dryer in the market
15 September 2023

Having used multiple hair dryers over the years, I recently bought the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer on sale from Best Buy, and it's quite a game-changer in the realm of haircare tools. Here’s a detailed review comparing it with other hair dryers in the market:* Design and Build: The design of the Dyson Supersonic is strikingly different from conventional hair dryers. The handle is sleek, and the absence of a long nozzle gives it a futuristic look. It feels balanced in the hand due to the motor placement in the handle.* Performance & Drying Time: It dries hair remarkably faster than many regular hair dryers. The powerful V9 digital motor combined with Air Multiplier™ technology ensures a high-velocity jet of controlled air, leading to quick drying without extreme ... MoreHaving used multiple hair dryers over the years, I recently bought the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer on sale from Best Buy, and it's quite a game-changer in the realm of haircare tools. It feels balanced in the hand due to the motor placement in the handle.* Performance & Drying Time: It dries hair remarkably faster than many regular hair dryers. The powerful V9 digital motor combined with Air Multiplier™ technology ensures a high-velocity jet of controlled air, leading to quick drying without extreme heat.* Noise Level: One of the standout features is the acoustically tuned design. While it isn't silent, it's noticeably quieter than many competitors, which is a plus if you're trying to have a conversation or listen to something while drying your hair.* Heat Settings & Attachments: There are multiple heat and speed settings, making it suitable for different hair types. Magnetic attachments, like the diffuser and styling concentrator, are a fantastic touch, making it easier to switch between them.* Hair Health: Dyson emphasizes preventing extreme heat damage with built-in heat protection sensors. After a month of use, I noticed less frizz and more shine, suggesting that it's gentler on the hair compared to cheaper models that might fry your hair.* Price: The elephant in the room! The Dyson Supersonic is notably more expensive than many other hair dryers on the market. While the features are impressive, the price might be prohibitive for some.* Comparison with Other Brands: When compared with standard drugstore hair dryers, there’s no contest in terms of performance. The Dyson is superior. But when placed next to professional salon-grade dryers, while it holds its own, the price difference becomes a more significant factor to consider.*Final Verdict: The Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer is an investment. If you prioritize hair health, reduced drying time, and innovative design, it might be worth the splurge. However, if you're budget-conscious, there are other less pricey, professional-quality hair dryers in the market that might suit your needs.
