I have baby fine, stick straight, bleached from medium brown to platinum hair. I am 44 years old, live in the upper Midwest and have city water. My old hair drier had left the last 3 inches of my ends wildly frizzy. It took even more heat of a straightener, lots of oil on the ends and it still didn’t look the best. My hair dresser uses a Dyson when she styles my hair and she recommended I purchase one and that it was worth the price. My hair looks 100% better and I believe it will only continue to improve as my hair continues to grow out the damage caused by my old drier. I was hesitant to buy because of the price. I see all my hair stylists use one but theirs burned out fast or had a cord problem. I took their advice and bought one anyway because my hair is very thick and it takes way too long to dry my hair. I also have problems with holding items over my head so this was a big relief. Blow drying can take up to 45-60 minutes with my hair into a frizz ball and this baby takes the maximum 20. My arms are not fatigued and I get that nice straight shine all the way through the tips of my hair. I still need to play with the attachments but I do recommend this for the reasons above. Be careful on the settings because it can get extremely hot so you will need to adjust when you are drying close to your scalp.

I’m so happy I got those added items for free bc they are actually really good. The case is amazing quality and the brush and comb are perfect for both drying straight hair and combing my curls. Drying my hair takes half the time and practically no heat so my curls don’t get heat damage. My kids have straight hair and their hair takes way less time to dry. The round brush also helps immensely. The attachments are great. Did NOT think they would be. The diffuser could be bigger but it works very well as is. I love the 3 heat settings. Absolutely love this hairdryer, it’s worth every penny! I keep putting a timer on to see how long it takes to dry my hair because I’m continuously impressed by it. Washing and drying (and smoothing it now too thanks to the flyaways attachment) is no longer a mammoth exhausting task. I can do it all in about 6 mins, from straight out of the shower wet to fully dry and smooth. So good. And I have quite thick hair.I have MS and this hairdryer has been extremely helpful.
I fell in love with this dryer when I got a chance to use it for several days as it was an amenity at our upscale hotel in Canada. I ordered one as soon as I got home! Love the dryer and what it does for my wavy hair. I don't use the diffuser; rather the smaller round attachment, and it works perfectly in drying quickly with no frizz. Unfortunately this machine stopped working after a couple of months, so I took advantage of the 'warranty' and sent it in for replacement. Unfortunately it's now been 5 weeks and I'm still without a new hair dryer. Bummed out. Not impressed with the service.
Persons with the most flyaways usually have curly hair (like me) using the flyaway piece is therefore not convenient, because it tries straitening the curls. The product is therefore not as innovative as marketed. The box of the Supersonic is also disappointing. It looks nice when opening at first, but it is not created to be convenient to use after. Im not an engineer nor designer but could come up with 5 easy design ideas to make the box useful. This makes me think that Dyson wants to make it useless, so that their clients will buy the holder piece. Bought the blue one of these as a gift for my wife as a Christmas present . Absolutely loved it the special order consisted of a brush assembly and a beautiful blue padded case. All was well until it went wrong, a cracking noise and puff of smoke and that was it Dead nine weeks old . Warranty was pursued so had to send it back in it’s original packing complete with all accessories and then a date of collection of faulty unit at least two in the future was given ( earliest date possible).
