Pro: Sucks up deep-seated grit from carpet to fill the container with an impressive amount of gunk. Pro: Seems sturdy, easy to empty and change heads, and battery has
lasted well so far (18 months). Con: Does not actually clean a low-pile carpet of visible cat fluff and fabric threads sitting on the surface - whether on high or low speed,
moving the head slow or fast, backwards or forwards - it sometimes rolls up the fluff/threads but simply will not suck it up. So the carpet does not look clean after use, which
defeats the purpose... Con: Non-ergonomic design. I have a permanent callous/blister at the base of my thumb where the heavy chamber presses down and rub... Show more

I bought this from Target in 2020 due to my disability and not able to push a full size vacuum! I only have an 8 x 10 area rug that I try to vacuum weekly and this worked well
for about 12-15 months. Now for the past months it starts and stops within 5 minutes. I take care of my product and charge it when not in use! I would never pay the lost price
ever for this machine. I paid $200 and it is worthless to me. I actually still have my box and plan to return it to Target! I would not pay $119 for a new battery pack as it’s not
worth it! I had heard glowing reports from previous users, but I will not try this again unless there are improvements in its life duration!

So I decided to try the Shark brand one (the one with the elbow in the stick for getting under furniture) and its heavier, suction isn't as good on hard surfaces in my opinion, so for $350 I returned it to QVC. I got on the chat with Dyson and we decided to stick with it and order the new main body. Waiting to get the $113 replacement motor in the mail. Overall I like my V7, even after trying another, I'm coming back to it. Just can't afford upgrading to the V8 or V10. If this failing motor is a known issue, the warantee should be longer though.... Great everyday assistant
20 March 2023
I feel like this vacuum deserves a little bit more love. I understand people's frustration with the battery when spending hundreds on a Dyson vacuum, however it is worth noting that this is one of their cheapest devices currently on the market. The battery does last longer when using it in Powerful mode as advertised (and that is usually sufficient enough for general cleaning). I bought this device for the sole purpose of helping me keep the house clean between bigger cleanings, as it is easier to reach for a cordless device than getting my big vacuum cleaner out and I ended up being able to clean the whole house without the battery running out. While my home is a smaller, 2 bedroom unit, I believe if I had a huge house I wouldn't necessarily attempt to clean the ... MoreI feel like this vacuum deserves a little bit more love. Great Until the battery Quits
9 July 2022
This machine worked great until the battery lost its charge and then died. The replacement cost and trouble to replace the battery is absurd. The machine has been well cared for and cleaned. There are no dirty filters or blockages. I am a contractor with multiple battery operated tools, Dyson should take a look at the multiple successful, inter interchangeable, quick charge, long lasting batteries. This product becomes landfill too quickly. Yes it vacuumed well but we are truly regretting the purchase.... Show more

Happy but confused.
15 March 2023
ok don't get me wrong with these 3 stars but I do love the vacuum, it's just that on the second day I had been using it... it started to pulse while I was using it. Its fully charged it's not on max pwr. I checked both filters and both were clean. The cone shaped filter is washable, so I washed it off and looked inside of it there was nothing inside, so I let it dry a full 24 hrs. before I tried it again and again it was doing the same thing so since then I've been vacuuming without the cone shaped filter because it doesn't pulse without it. Dyson what is going on I need answers on what is wrong. happy and confused customer.... Show more

Love cordless, hate life of machine
20 April 2022
While I love that this machine provides ease of cleaning, and decent suction while not equal to my upright of course, the battery died just after 3 years. It's out of warranty. I paid $$ for a vacuum and now have to spend another $90 on a battery. Customer service was helpful, but I wish I could say this thing lasted me 5 years at least for what I paid, even if the life of the battery dipped a little at the end that would have been understandable. The price (you can see on website) for 3 years is just too much. I clean the filters regularly too. Before this I would've given it 4+ stars because of the light weight and ease. Also don't love pressing the trigger all the time. My hand gets tired.... and I don't have a problem with my hands. Not worth the money or fuss. My kmart vacuum works better
27 January 2023
Have had this for a couple months but havent thought about writing a review until talking about it with a friend. Honestly the only good thing about this vacuum is that its wireless and takes up less space than a normal vacuum. Suction is standard, doesnt work on hard floors, doesnt suck to the edge of the carpet where the skirting is so i have to change heads to vacuum around the entire edges of the house. Ended up being more of a hassle to use than a corded vacuum. Takes way too long to charge for max 20 mins use on normal suction, even less on max suction. Not worth buying... Dont know what the big fuss is about with these dyson vacuums...Waste of money. My $80 kmart one is better.... Show more

Poor battery
3 November 2022
I have owned my Dyson Animal Pro + for less than 3 years, using it once every two or three weeks between my cleaners' visits. Recently, the battery died. It will work for 20 seconds max and then cut out. If I plug it back in for a few seconds, I'll get another 20 seconds out of it. I called Dyson and they offered me a marginal discount on a replacement battery, which retails for $100. Clearly, they don't think that is was exceptional for the battery to have died this quickly For a product that costs this much, the battery ought to last longer than 35 months of light use. Don't waste your money.... Show more

UNIMPRESSED WITH PRODUCT AND DYSON CUST SERVICE
23 February 2023
Definitely do NOT like that when you start vacuuming, you have to press the power button the entire time. Good way to get "trigger finger." Also, the brush head is not adjustable for different types and thicknesses of carpets. Very user unfriendly in this regard. The 2-page warranty that came in my unit was in Spanish, which language I do not speak, read, write, or understand. There was no user manual with it, and after being on the phone 90 minutes with a Dyson representative, he was unable to help me obtain one. I am not impressed! I kept researching online, and finally found where I could download the PDF, from Dyson's own website as it turned out, but it was not easy to find. Their website is also user Unfriendly. If it's not too late, I will return this product.... Show more
