I have pets in the house and back problems, so dragging out the big upright everyday as become too much, so I don't vacuum as often as I would like. I usually leave the head somewhere in my way so I remember to put it back on the charger. 3.5 hours charging time for 6-20 minutes of use is a bit inconvenient, but I am so glad not to be wrestling power cord and hose and lugging the upright in and out of storage, tripping over cord, cord getting stuck under a door or on furniture. Who really wants to vacuum for longer than 6 - 20 minutes anyway. Now if I have a bigger cleaning I want to do, I'll do the main hard floors at night, let the head charge over night, and it's ready to go in the morning for a bit more. I would never give up my full size upright Dyson - because it is so faithful and best for carpeting, plus will be good for any deep cleans that take a while longer. It would be horrible to get into the middle of a cleaning project and have to wait 3.5 hours for the cordless to recharge. About a month in and I'm VERY HAPPY WITH THE V7 ANIMAL.

When it comes to stick vacuums, Dyson is the best. I used to have one many years ago and when it went to vacuum heaven after a long and laborious life, I thought I’ll try other brands. In a space of 3 years, I had 2 Bosh and a Vax stick vacuums and none of them was near the Dyson in the suction itself , the ease of use and most importantly the life expectancy. I finally decided to stick to my Dyson and so far I’m not disappointed. It had a good suction for a longer time, 30 minutes, enough for me to do my living and bedrooms, the delivery from Myer was quick and the package was well padded.

Very impressed with my 1st dyson stick vac. Unique, strong yet light weight, efficient design. Vacuums with great ease due to swivel base on barrel head. Attachments click in so easy. So easy to empty cannister with release lever over a bin, cleaning is made much easier, faster and simpler. I do love to bracket fitting & easy directions to afix the stick vac onto the wall & clicking straight into the charger at the same time. Very good! What a vaccum cleaner should be. The only thing I miss from my old dud hoover stick vac is a light on the front of the floor barrel piece to see mess on the floor in dark rooms/underneath furniture as yr vacuuming, to see better what yr vacuuming up...otherwise this vac would get full 5 stars.

I'm extremely satisfied with its ease of use and power. Holds up easily to wall mount where power cord can be run through to charge after each use. I use it daily. It was awkward to use the first couple of times, but once you are used to it, it handles and maneuvers rather well. It is not designed to sit against a wall without being in the mount. It's top heavy and will likely slip or slide to the floor. It is not easy to clean right off the bat, but again, after a couple of times opening the canister, it becomes quite simple. On the large roller the motor to turn it is built inside the roller preventing it from collecting dirt. The roller brushes pull out of the roller housing for easy cleanup. The entire thing runs with just two reusable filters. If you accidentally push the dump bin button it will not dump, you have to lift up the filter head up before the bin will open so you really can't do it by accident. The long reach tools while compact will extend to to nearly 5 feet giving you plenty of reach. The variety of included tools make this a very capable vacuum. Initially, we bought the i-vac x10 which was rubbish, clunky, difficult to change attachments, poor suction then broke just after a year, just out of warranty. We decided to spend a bit more money on a Dyson and it's so so great comparatively. Such a good design, the docking station is wonderful, so you always know where your attachments are and it's always charged when needed. It's easy to use, lightweight and great on our hardwood floors, tiles and rugs. Very flexible to reach tricky corners, under furniture, between sofa cushions and ceilings/skirting boards. I expected it to be great on our hard floors but not have the power required to do a decent job on carpet, but I was pleasantly surprised! But wow is it disappointing on hard floors! It picks up very small debris brilliantly, but anything bigger than dust is likely to be flicked all over the floor by its rotating motorised head. Dyson do not make a hard floor tool for the V7, but fortunately, V8 attachments fit the V7. So if you can get your hands on the Soft Roller Head from the V8, you'll be happy. Hesitated for years not investing in a Dyson stick but finally decided to get one after having a baby and the effort to pull the corded vacuum out was too much. Love this vacuum so much and wish I’d got one sooner. Lightweight and easy to use with an 8 month old baby in one hand and vacuum in the other. Battery lasts just long enough to do a two bedroom townhouse. Charges quickly in about 2hrs. Suction is great but I’d say still a little less powerful than my corded vacuum, still does an exceptional job though and it’s very satisfying to see how much dust it picks up when you empty the canister! Only issue I’ve found is that the tube scratches very easily and already looks messy but not a major issue.
