Excellent sharpness at all zoom settings, and Parfocal feature is really effective. The only nuisance is that it is temperature sensitive and when. you are using it in a different setting/location than the last time you used it and if you want the Parfocal feature (ie maintains focus throughout the entire zoom range) it may be necessary to recalibrate it. That is fairly straight forward procedure that I can usually do in less than five minutes on the camera.

Owned this for about two weeks. I use the lens on a panasonic gh5s and have used it for two work related shoots already. It has been fantastic and is very quick for reframing on run and gun shoots. The parfocal element opens up a lot of creative options.I wish the lens let in a little bit more light and was a little wider on the wide end. But there is no complaints for the price point and how compact the lens is.Highly recommend if you want a fantastic native mft lens with insane value.

Beautiful images. Close focus distance. Super compact but heavy. Renting was a breeze will do again. Awesome experience but if your needs include crash zooms this lens will not hold up. The EF version does a great job at holding focus through a zoom. Leaving 5 starts because it replaced 3-4 prime kits and was perfect for max efficiency but i did want to leave that individual criticism.

The image is not too sharp and the bokeh is excellent. Chromaticaberration is a little high.Build quality is very impressive. The adjustable flange back is anessential feature for a lens to be used on a micro 4/3 mount from adifferent manufacturer. It's also great to be able to fine parforcal adjustment with this. It's an elegant image quality, and I love it for creating cinematicworks of art.
I do not doubt that I would have been happy work the quality of the images but I was unfortunately not able to use the lens at all because the focus range was off. I rented because research said it was ideal for my blackmagic 4k camera but focusing was impossible. The near focus and focus at infinity was nothing but blur. Seemed like there wasn’t perfect connect censor to glass-wise.
This lens is perfect for budget narrative filmmaking covering the common focal lengths you'll need 95% of the time. Build quality is impressive. Iris, zoom, focus are smooth. Some edge softness, but minimal breathing and very good parfocal performance. Mated with my JVC LS300, this is an incredible value and unbeatable combination. I started on my video journey in Canon land, then when I realized how handcuffed their mirrorless offerings were, I transitioned to Lumix, and it was a great choice for me at the time. My first piece of glass that I was really happy with was Sigma's 18-35 zoom coupled with the Metabones adapter. I still like it. I didn't like re-focusing at different zoom levels at all. With the GH5S, I have almost always followed a full manual workflow, so when I added this DZO film manual zoom, there was no adjustment for me. I only saw benefits. The benefits to me are as follows in no particular order: Parfocal-how friXXen awesome is this! No Focus breathing, OMG a life changer! Probably the best part. A beautiful rendition of the color palette. A little softer than the Lumix ... MoreI started on my video journey in Canon land, then when I realized how handcuffed their mirrorless offerings were, I transitioned to Lumix, and it was a great choice for me at the time. A beautiful rendition of the color palette. A little softer than the Lumix photo lenses, but in a good way. It makes everything look more cinematographic. If your lighting is solid and your white balance locked in, you are going to get great results. I love how this lens looks, how it doesn't get in my way, and if I do a great job with my lighting, it rewards me greatly. (as always, it all starts with light!). This lens makes my job easier and makes me look good. What else is there to say?
Well made lens. Easy to adjust back focus. Smooth rings. Good image quality. Would rent again.
What an amazing experience, i usually rent from panavision or otto nemenzBut i went with lensrentals for this specific lense.Quick, easy, and affordable. And the lense operated perfectly. I 100% will be renting from lensrentals again in the future.
I needed a relatively fast parfocal zoom for a doc shoot and decided to try out the DZOFilm 20-70mm MFT. Really like this lens. The build quality was great, and the lens I rented was in excellent condition (and it’s focal rings were broken in which made them nicer to pull). The lens has great characteristics (including some of the nicest chromatic aberration I’ve seen in a lens at this price point - much more natural “warm pink” and “cool green” compared to the artificial cyan and magenta a lot of lenses exhibit. It’s not a clinically sharp lens - but for narrative and doc work it was plenty sharp (we ended up using a promist to further soften the image).Lens comes with some support accessories and a support shoe, which is nice. The zoom pull handle was missing ... MoreI needed a relatively fast parfocal zoom for a doc shoot and decided to try out the DZOFilm 20-70mm MFT. DZOFILM LingLung 20-70mm T2.9 cine zoom lens MFT Mount Metric
The Linglung 20-70mm T2.9 MFT lens from DZOFilm is a professional parfocal cine lens designed to maintain focus while zooming and minimize focus breathing. You can maintain focus throughout the entire zoom range. The 12-blade aperture produces beautiful rounded highlights. Thanks to its cine design, the focus ring can rotate 270° and offers 26 focus markings along the entire range. The adjustment of the flange focal distance at 19.2 mm in small increments allows for efficient switching between different MFT-mount cameras. The lens features a robust metal housing. With a constant aperture of 2.9, this lens is excellent for low-light shooting. Micro Four Thirds cameras can sometimes struggle with low-light conditions or produce a limited bokeh effect. In such cases, a large aperture is the solution. The 12 aperture blades also contribute to a pleasing round bokeh.
