I bought these sandals in October 2006 after reading good reviews and having a couple other Ecco products. I live in Minnesota, so they don't get year round use, but just yesterday (June 2019) the bottom of one sandal started coming off. Other than wear on the sole these things still look new. That's 12 and a half years out of a pair of sandals! My wife buys 2 pairs a year of a different brand (just don't do it). She balked at the price, but over 12.5 years she has spent several times the cost of these. I have and will still recommend these to anyone looking for a versatile, rugged pair of sandals. Hot, cold, rain or shine I've worn these things. The foot bed does get slippery when wet, so watch out for that. That would probably be my only negative for these. ECCO should have kept the cork-supported insoles that were on their best sandals in the early 1990s. The former sandals also had an inner sole lining that was either leather or similar with tiny perforations that provided cooling and didn't trap perspiration. The present day Yucatan soles are very stiff with no give in either the whole foot or the heel. The insole is neither cushiony or easy drying. The original ECCO sandals I bought in the early 1990s felt like walking on air and were perfect for long distances. The current ECCO Yucatan sandals feel like I'm walking with boards on my feet. I don't want to wear them for long walks or on a hot day.

I bought my husband a pair of these sandals for his Birthday on 9th Decemer. He is very pleased with them and they are comfortable and look good. I bought myself a pair of the same ladies' sandals a few years back and they are extremely long lasting.

This is now my 6th pair. Very easy to wear and store. Just one minor issue, my last pair did not go as long as the other sandals. Even worn a lot, they fell apart and the sole cracked. There was nothing I could do due to being out of the Warranty.
I have bought a total of 6 pairs of these Ecco sandals over the years and find them to be extremely comfortable and durable. Husband has two pair and I have four. One pair had the sole disintegrate due to faulty rubber and Ecco replaced them even though they were years old. We wear little else summer and winter! If it is cold I wear my Ecco gortex ankle boots. Love your quality footwear!
I bought my first pair of Yucatan Sandals five or six years ago for an upcoming trip to New York City, where I lived in the 1970's. I was planning to be a tour guide for my wife and we would be walking A LOT every day for two weeks in Manhattan and Brooklyn, and it was going to be even hotter and more humid than usual for a New York City summer. These sandals were great! They are solid and comfortable, they let your feet breathe, they give good support, and they look good. Quality construction all around.I have worn them every day all summer long and for much of the spring and fall ever year since then. I wear them almost all the time in the house year-round instead of slippers, because they are more comfortable than any pair of slippers I've worn. I wear them almost all the time in the house year-round instead of slippers, because they are more comfortable than any pair of slippers I've worn. I live in western Washington state, and the natives here are not afraid to wear socks with sandals, and I do that in cold weather - - that's how much I love these sandals. If it's not raining or snowing, I'm probably wearing my ecco Yucatan sandals.Last summer the hook-and-loop fasteners on the ankle straps started to lose their grip, and the soles were getting pretty worn, so I bought a new pair, which I've worn since then. These are GREAT sandals.(Yes, this is a real review by a real customer, and I do not own stock in ecco)
I would have 10 pair of these shoes if the toe strap could actually be loosened and tightened! I have purchased two pair in 2 years hoping to stretch the toe fabric but to no avail. If the toe strap were actually adjustable this shoe would work for wider foot profiles or painful toe conditions which require relief of squeezing or pressure. When trying these and the Yucatans on I have heard multiple customers make the same remark about the fact that the toe box looks adjustable but isn't. Other brands attempt a version of this shoe (with and actual adjustable toe strap) but they are quite unattractive. Ecco, please put a seam and separate the fabric covering the toe area and allow the strap to function as an adjustment for width! You'll have even more '5 star ... MoreI would have 10 pair of these shoes if the toe strap could actually be loosened and tightened! Love these sandals for traveling and walking around. They fit securely, which is great on rocky surfaces or trails. After extended walking, I will sometimes feel some aching in my heel/arches, but that will happen with a lot of my shoes. When I travel, I will walk 8-10+ miles a day. First bought the black color at full price, then light aqua green on sale. Since I tend to use the neutral colors when I travel, just purchased the grey crackle texture at a great price with the Black Friday sale!Ecco shoes are by far my favorite brand, I literally have about 30 pairs right now. :-)
There are not enough superlatives to express how much I love these shoes. We own our on travel company and take groups all over the world. My feet are always a problem as I have a neuroma on my left foot and some nerve damage from the days of wearing high heels and stylish pointy toed shoes. I'm not the sneaker type because I hate closed tied shoes. And I love colors - especially primary colors. When I found these colorful Yucatán sport sandals, I had to have them. So far in two years these sandals have been to India twice, Myanmar Thailand, China, Japan, Cambodia, Spain and Portugal, and just got back from France. I can't tell you how. Many people around the world have asked me about my shoes (specially India where they love color!) and where they could get them, ... MoreThere are not enough superlatives to express how much I love these shoes. Many people around the world have asked me about my shoes (specially India where they love color!) and where they could get them, I should be your worldwide Ecco Ambassador. For sure they have been my favorite shoes ever, and lord knows there have been hundreds. The last time I could say that about shoes were very cute wedge shoes with a lot of support. Only problem is that when you step on a cobblestone in Scotland, you break your foot - which I did. And you certainly can't climb temple steps in India or elephant paths in Thailand. So I had to change up my style. I looked and looked and when I found these Yucatán multicolor sandals, I was very happy. From the first day out of the box until today they have been comfortable, supportive shoes ever. And now for the negative. I want another pair (actually 2 pair) and I can't find them anywhere. Will they be available again in a size 40? Pretty Please? Thanks for your always good service and response. Pat Liner
I have been buying these a couple of pair a year for years-probably 10 or more. I have a wide foot, and the 3 point customization really worked for me.This spring, as I usually do, I ordered a new pair and took them on vacation. I continued wearing my old pair for beach reserving the new pair for resort wear.I put them on and was in immediate pain. Did I buy women's instead of men's? Why were these so tight? After looking closely, the toe piece isn't the same as in years past. The neoprene stuff under the hook and loop fastenersis now one solid piece across the toe, not two separate that can be adjusted for width.I loved these shoes. They are sturdy, well built and until recently, very comfortable. If you have "common" feet, they will probably still work for ... MoreI have been buying these a couple of pair a year for years-probably 10 or more.
