We love our California King sized mattress with the default firmness. Initially we found it to be very firm to lie on, especially when lying on our sides. It turns out the waterproof cover has too well a fit, almost flattening the gel layer. Without the waterproof cover, we found the gel layer to be too cool to lie against, perhaps it will be fine in the summer months. However, we have since found a good solution by fitting the waterproof cover such that it’s only tucked in to the sides of the mattress (not tucked to the bottom). This provides a comfortable barrier between the cooling gel, while still allowing the gel layer to cushion our body. Have swapped mattresses 3 times previously in 14 years trying to find one that doesn't leave me with a slightly sore lower back every morning of my life. That is a massive win, and I have recommended Ecosa to anyone who mentions back pain or beds to me since then.It is warmer than a pocket sprint, but in medium-firm (with blue gel closest to you) it is fine even on the hottest nights in NZ.The partner disturbance is more than our recent pocket spring but still quite good.You obviously cause a dent when you sit on the edge of it, compared to a rigid pocket spring, and that's just down to the foam materials, but that dent repairs itself quickly once you lie on it.Can highly recommend if you have chronic lower back pain issues and other beds haven't worked, at the very least to try under their 100-day return policy.

I had been very happily sleeping on my memory foam 'Koala' mattress for years, but an upgrade was due.I considered the Ecosa as that upgrade but was put off by reviewers saying it was just too firm, so I bought a Napp mattress instead.For a year the Napp felt soft and comfortable, but it became evident that rather than sink into and be enveloped by the foam, what my spine actually needed was a firmer mattress on which I could sleep flatter. Ecosa with its layered foams and changeable configuration became the obvious solution and it was more in line with my original Koala for firmness.When it arrived I was very impressed with the quality of the materials. I am certainly much happier sleeping on the Ecosa.If I ranked the Koala 7-8 out of 10 and the Napp a 6.5 out of 10 on the firmness scale, I'd put the Ecosa as ranging from 7.5-9 out of 10 because of its customization abilities. I find it to be 'supportive' not soft, which is good for me.With the free trial period I'd be happy to recommend Ecosa to others considering buying a new mattress.I'll be keeping mine, and the guest bedrooms got the Napp.

I did buy a mattress as well and it's not too bad to sleep on, but time will tell.I love wooden bed bases and let's face it, most bed bases have wood inside them. It's also *JUST* slightly too big for my bed frame (I have that cheap ikea one, you know the one) and its obviously built for the more contemporary frames that are totally flat on top. It's stuffed into the walls of the bedframe so putting sheets on can be difficult, and its also quite a bit higher than my last mattress. The mattress topper also has rubber stops on the underside, so sliding it onto the slats on my bed was extremely difficult (again, a two person job!!! Bring a friend!). I think I underestimated how heavy a memory foam mattress would be in general, sliding around a foam & spring mattress is far easier so consider how you'll go with moving it around in future. Some handles on the mattress topper would be a nice addition (maybe they are there and I have forgotten already)Aside from those minor hiccups it's been a great few months of sleep. I also got the ecosa pillow which didn't work out for me but the 100 nights return policy made the refund process so simple and stress free. You'll be well taken care of regardless of what ecosa product you choose.
