Actually amazing
I was sceptical of robotic vacuums, but I can hostly say I'm amazed by the performance! The Deebot T9 mapped our 4x2 house perfectly the first time, though you do need to tidy up the first time to ensure that all areas are mapped correctly, and ensure that the mopping unit is not attached for the first clean so that the vacuum can discover carpeted rooms. The vacuum works great on carpet and solid floors, and even gets most of the cat hair out of the carpet. There have been occasions where the auto-empty station hasn't completely emtied the dustbin, but this is a minor issue and wasn't a major selling point so doesn't affect my perception of the product. True Detect 3D 2.0 seems to work very well - so far almost a week in, the vacuum hasn't gotten stuck on any items ... True Detect 3D 2.0 seems to work very well - so far almost a week in, the vacuum hasn't gotten stuck on any items or tangled in cables. My playdough test simulating you-know-what even worked, with the vacuum detecting the pile and working around it! Mopping is also a nice feature to have and works very well, but it does prevent the vacuum from vacuuming carpeted areas at all since it doesn't simply switch off the mop, and also detects when it's approaching carpet and avoids it. The included fragrance called "wild bluebell" is also quite a pleasant, almost masculine fragrance - not at all like cheap car air freshener like I'd expected! The Ecovacs app is also a breeze to use and lets you customise your cleaning schedule and the features of the vacuum such as increasing suction or mopping water level for certain rooms. It even works with Google Assistant, which can start/pause and return the vacuum to the dock, and even locate it in the house by making it speak (not that I've had to use that feature, since it's never gotten stuck yet).... All bells and no whistles
ProsCan set timer to vacuum any day or time. It maps the house plan itself. Not too noisey. ConsHardly ever finds its way back to the docking station and gets lost which means its not being emptied or charged. Gets stuck and doesnt complete vacuumCant smell the air freshener Mop function is a seperate function to air freshener function so change in attachment is required. Cant run both. Dock is an extra $400 and all it does is charge and suck out the dirt. Thats only if the vacuum can find its way back into the dock. For the high end price it doesnt do a high end job. If I could return it I would. Docking station is an extra thats not needed. The air freshener is a nice idea but fragrance is almost non existent and is a seperate attachment to the mopping function. ... MoreProsCan set timer to vacuum any day or time. Seriously, this is the best purchase I have made in years. With dogs inside the house, it was a constant daily vacuum and / or sweeping which with chronic back pain, took its toll.Set up is really easy, once mapped out, its a set and forget. Automatic cleaning can be set at a time to suit your daily routine or you can use it as a manual feature too. Moves around my dogs if they wont move out of its way and the dogs dont mind it at all.The self emptying of the dust bin feature is a bonus and self return to base for charging and when cleaning is finished. Calls out to you to inform you if its stuck or off the floor. This has only happened once when a charging cable was on the floor. The only negative I have about this machine is the mopping feature. Fantastic Vacuum, Terrible Software
As a vacuum, this robot does a fantastic job. The floors are clean and it pulls a surprising amount of dust and dirt out of the rugs and carpets! The issue is, that's only when you can get it to work... The software on this vacuum is TERRIBLE! This is both the phone app to control it, and the vacuum itself. The app is incredibly laggy, and constantly has ad popups trying to get you to buy stuff. The Vacuum itself regularly messes up the map. The vacuum will get stuck on a corner turning or something, corrupt it's map, and then make you delete it with no option but to fully remap your home. It will also mess up the map sometimes if furniture moves. I had the audacity to put a drying horse out in my living room, and the robot rotated my map 45 degrees off kilter, and ... Perhaps choose a different brand with better software, which is what I'll be doing whenever I next upgrade.... Show more

Good all rounder
I've tried a number of Robot vacuums this year and found the T9 has the best all round performance, but it is not perfect. It has good strong suction power that works best on hard floors, quiet operation compared to others, excellent object avoidance, never chewed up a cord or bumped into objects or walls and good long battery life. The mopping feature is ok but it will leave light streaks across the floor, nothing compares to an old school mop and water bucket. The only let down is the auto emptying tower is really useless, it has never been able to empty the dust bin sufficiently, and I would have preferred to have the option of buying the T9 without the tower and saved some money. I find I have to clean the brushed after each cleaning job to remove all the pet ... I find I have to clean the brushed after each cleaning job to remove all the pet hair and clean the dust filter so the machine can continue working effectively which is also when I empty the onboard dust bin, which is expected as this is not a maintenance free device. Also found the app's room editing feature is very glitchy, and the battery takes a good 6+ hours to charge.... Show more

Great Vacuum and worth the money
This is a great vacuum (been using for about a month). It has mapped our whole house well (large double brick home). Vacuum cleans well and is not very loud. The map was easy to edit and combine rooms. We have 2 indoor cats and has cleaned the carpet/ wooden floors very well. We have only used the mop function once and you will still need to mop properly as it only cleanes lightly soiled floors, as expected. The only problem I have found is that it doesn't empty the dust bin when it is full. It will keep cleaning even though it has no more room. I try and empty it part way through the clean so it doesn't overflow (I run it every other day). As others have said sometimes the auto empty station does not empty completely and you need to remove the fluff it yourself ... MoreThis is a great vacuum (been using for about a month). Great Vacuum That Is Almost Perfect
This is a great unit, it vacuums really well and is fantastic and mapping your house and healing with multiple flooring types. The vacuuming is fairly quite compared to a stick vac but if you put the mopping attachment on that increases the noise level quite a bit- i think you could have it vacuum downstairs of an evening without it bothering you, but mopping probably not.Slightly annoying that you need to swap the mop attachment out to do carpet. Would be better if it could handle this better as you need to remember to swap them otherwise your carpet won't get done. I tend to leave the normal attachment on so that it can vacuum everything on the schedule and then only put the mop attachment when i am going to do a mop and then i swap it back once it is finished. The ... I tend to leave the normal attachment on so that it can vacuum everything on the schedule and then only put the mop attachment when i am going to do a mop and then i swap it back once it is finished. The biggest issue i have with the unit is it's multifloor mapping. It is fairly straight forward, if somewhat un documented. You need to get it to map one floor. Then turn off the dock and the vacuum, move the whole lot to the other floor and then let it map that. Thankfully once that is done you can just drop the vacuum on the other floor and it will work out where it is and do a clean. The issue is at the end of the clean it then try's to go back to the dock and gets stuck at the top of my stairs. I am at a slight disadvantage as i got the T9 as there is only one dock, if you brought the T9 and then added the self clean doc then at least i could have had two docs on each floor as there doesn't seem to be the option to buy just the charging doc on it's own so i have to buy a second self clean dock which i think is a little over kill. The Self Clean dock does a pretty good job but doesn't seems to be able to deal with my high pile carpet as that seems to block up the caddy in the vacuum and i have to manually empty it, but that is pretty easy. I would recommend turning the auto cleaning off and move to manual if you are planning to run cleaning at night as the cleaning process is pretty loud.... Show more

This Ecovac cleans my house perfectly along with also mopping my tiled areas superbly however, as with all reviews on this the software lacks and at times I have myself wanting to return this product due to major frustration but then I come around and love it again. Seems like a love hate relationship. Look, the biggest issue is at times if the robovac gets stuck or someone places an item near the docking station then its messes up the map that is has stored on the app, IF your lucky you can revert to your original map and its fine. However I had the app delete and update my map with something that didn't even replicate my house so I had to let it relearn the whole house again which is a PITA. I would recommend to anyone however just be prepared for teething issues until maybe deebot do a firmware upgrade or something. 7.5/10... Show more

Self cleaning is game changing
I've only had this product a couple of days, but I just had to jump on line and give it a raving review. I love this product. We have a large open plan home with a golden Labrador that is shedding like crazy at the moment with the change in season, her hair is all over our dark grey tiles. The DEEBOT T9 is fantastic. It cruises around the house effortlessly, systematically collecting all the dust and dog hair in its path. It has multiple settings to control vacuum power, and when mopping water flow, quick or deep scrubbing can be controlled easily via the app. I am not a tech person, however I was comfortably able to install the app, assemble the sweepers and connect the DEEBOT T9 to the app. Once connected, just press the play button the the app for Auto cleaning. ... The DEEBOT T9 runs for a little over 2 hours in a sitting, and returns to the docking station to self empty and to charge. It is uncomplicated to add a virtual boundary - just select Virtual boundary on the app and then drag a boundary 'line' or 'box' on to your house map that the DEEBOT T9 has created. I was a little worried that the vacuum, would not meet my expectations, however it has met and exceeded them. I'm really happy with the ease of set up, with the quietness of the product, the DEEBOT T9 performance, and like I said in the review title, the fact that it self cleans into it's own vacuum bag in the docking station is a game changer! I don't even need to think about touching this product for weeks! This is going to save me so much time. If anyone is contemplating about getting this product, I hope this review has informed you more, and that you purchase it with confidence. You will love it, like I do!... Show more

We have named him John and we Love him
We recently welcomed the Ecovacs DEEBOT T9 into our home and we have named him John. I hate cleaning floors, dragging out the vacuum cleaner, buckets of water an mops, dont get me started on the chemicals to clean the floor. The DEEBOT T9 does away with all of that polava. Set him going and without complaint he vacuums your floors, then finds his way back to his charging station. You can add customisation to his cleaning routine by cutomising him in the relatively easy to use app. He will map out a floor plan which is easy to customise. You can tell him where you want him to go and put up virtual barriers of where you dont want him to go. My favourite thing about the Deebot is that he returns when he's finished to his charging station and then he automatically empties himself into this funky tower thing that contains a vacuum cleaner bag for all of the stuff he's sucked up along the way. I love that I can schedule times and days for him to do his thing. He's not as noisy as I thought he was, but the first few times he was pretty distracting because I kept having to stop what I was doing to go and watch him, like the crazy gadget freak I am! There isnt a lot about this device I dont like. The only thing I think could be better is the instructions that come with it. It took me a bit of working out from the pictures in the rather light on manual, how to install either the air freshner module (honestly not sure about that either, I cant smell anything comig out of it) or the water tank for mopping. Once I figured it out though, it was pretty easy. Also, whilst I found the app reasonably easy to figure out, it's not completly intuitive and someone who isnt particularly tech savy might struggle. Overall though, I reckon he's a pretty cool addition to our family!... Show more
