I got these speakers to improve the audio during meeting as, let’s face it, laptop speakers are not the best quality. For the price the audio is brilliant and clear with good depth of sound and more than enough volume to suit my home office. Please don’t expect DJ or Studio quality sound and volume, there is a reason those types of monitors cost what they do.The only down side I’ve found with these speakers is the Bluetooth can be temperamental when switching back to it from using the Line input, which I do regularly. This means you sometimes have to forget the speakers on your device and re-add them, also, devices won’t connect unless they are direct in front of the speaker almost touching it, hence the 4 star rating. However, over all they are a good speaker for ... MoreI got these speakers to improve the audio during meeting as, let’s face it, laptop speakers are not the best quality. For the price the audio is brilliant and clear with good depth of sound and more than enough volume to suit my home office. These speakers do exactly what I wanted them to do. They sound lovely, great bass, with no hiss or static. Note that they are a "significant" size - standing around 250mm high, 160mm wide, and 220mm deep and take a bit of room on my desk. However they're worth it. I've only had these for a few days but I'm delighted with them. Dead easy to set up too. I turned them on, connected via BlueTooth (they were already in pairing mode), and off we went!

Hadn't had an Edifier product before so I was waiting for this to arrive. Was easy to set up with the biggest problem being the location. Decisions decisions, where to place the speakers. One that was sorted, hooked up, power on, Bluetooth, phone fired up, linked straight away, and the Rova app on The Sound Deep Cuts blasting away. A twiddle of the bass and treble to get the right sound and it was good.Sound quality is great and the volume is good. Setup was easy and didn't take long. It is hooked up to my PC but haven't fired that up yet. Haven't found any problems with it yet. I would definitely buy it again.

These are the most expensive speakers I've ever owned. Got them when one of my 5.1 speakers either failed or came disconnected, it would be too hard to get to if it had. So intended as a long term buy. I've used them over my motherboards optical connection and on my current usb, device manager doesn't seem to know what they are over usb but they work great and sound is superb either way. Just remember on usb to reboot your system to get sound working and using your fastest usb 3 port works best. The annoyance is the remote control. It feels like quality for a small round device it has some real weight but it is short ranged, but that's not my issue. Where the annoyance comes in is the coin type battery it uses, mine won't go in flat, which means I can't put the ... MoreThese are the most expensive speakers I've ever owned. Where the annoyance comes in is the coin type battery it uses, mine won't go in flat, which means I can't put the battery cover on flat and secure. Last night I accidentally put my hand on the remote making it jump and the back piece and cell flew out and it takes several attempts to get the cell connecting again. Not the first time the backs come off either about the third I think. Currently put it on a non-slip pad and trying to operate a no moving policy from now on.Just a silly problem to have with an otherwise superb product, they even come with every cable you should need.
For a reasonable size, you get very impressive sound quality in addition to the beautiful design. Very pleasant sound.I tried a number of different compositions, both pop and classical:Jean Michel Jarre OxigeneShostakovitch second waltzSia Cheap ThrillsModern TalkingGreat 60s guitar albumChopin solo piano compositionsA variety of piano and violin concertosetcRarely need higher than 70 % volume level to fill a three-room apartment. If you are a picky classical music fan and have a lot of room at home, buy one of the shelf models with 3-way speakers such as Edifier R2750DB or R2850DB.
Got these Speakers today and compared to the 5 year old edifiers I had before (which were great fyi), the sound is clearer, bass is better and more consistent. Love the fact that they are bluetooth and they have a remote to control this along with dials on the side of primary speaker to play around with volume, treble & bass. Honestly, amazing speakers. Got Tidal to test out the speakers in higher kbps for music and it's beautiful. To set the music to better settings go to control panel --> Hardware & Sound --> Change System Sound (Under Sound) --> Playback --> Click on The Speakers and go to properties --> Advanced --> Turn it up to 32 bit, 192,000 Hz.Any ways, recommend getting these if you don't want to spend too much and still want quality.
These are good speakers. The remote though doesn’t seem to turn them on. The power from the remote will only turn the blue mode on. I’m guessing this is the Bluetooth mode. But when this happens I can’t hear the speakers at all. The remote doesn’t even turn them fully on where the light is green. Only when the light is green am I able to hear them. When manually powered on green one speaker will turn on and then small wait time the other will turn on. But it does have good sound and they look nice. The screen cover over the speakers is the only thing besides the plug that looks cheap. The screens look like they used just any off brand screen and glued them on. I would have liked a more durable stronger screen. These feel like one poke just from moving them with ... MoreThese are good speakers. The remote though doesn’t seem to turn them on. I just don’t feel like they were worth the almost two hundred dollar market. These are just basic good speakers I’m happy with them but if I were to move I don’t know if they would stay in One piece especially the screens.
I purchased these speakers because I wanted some better desktop speakers, and I decided to spend a little more on them so I didn't get cheap, tinny sound from my computer.I am actually impressed by the quality of these. Are they as good as high end speakers or production near-field monitors? Of course not, but for listening to audio on your computer, they sound great. Why three stars?? One of the MAJOR fallbacks (and, honestly, I can NOT understand why they did this) is the lack of headphone output for private listening. There is NO ability to plug in headphones. Before I wrote this review, I realized that these speakers are bluetooth, so I thought, maybe I just overlooked the ability to connect BT headphones to this. When I tried connecting my earbuds to these ... MoreI purchased these speakers because I wanted some better desktop speakers, and I decided to spend a little more on them so I didn't get cheap, tinny sound from my computer.I am actually impressed by the quality of these. You can connect any bluetooth device TO these speakers, but you CAN'T connect an output device to them. Makes sense, sort of... EXCEPT the fact that you can never set these to private headphone only listening. That is why this product only gets three stars. If you DON'T ever need headphone out (Or don't mind unplugging the speakers from your computer and plugging headphones in), then these are great speakers. However, if you want the option to listen privately when you want to... look for something else.
For sheer value for money Edifier always rate high in tech/sound magazine or website reviews. Now that I own a pair of Edifier R1700BT I can see/hear why. The stereo sound is music to my ears. I've proudly mounted them to my kitchen wall and they look almost as good as they sound. All you have to do is select your favorite music streaming app, iTunes, Spotify etc and after you initially pair your phone to the speakers, they will forever automatically connect every time you walk in to the room seamlessly. I have also connected these speakers via cables to my TV and they improve the sound immensely, they particularly shine with action movies, giving you that cinema quality sound to your TV. I have also connected these speakers via cables to my TV and they improve the sound immensely, they particularly shine with action movies, giving you that cinema quality sound to your TV. Included with the speakers are a remote control which is a simple but useful addition particularly if you place your speakers in a difficult to reach location. Also included is a 5 metre speaker connector cable, which allows you to spread your two speakers from one side of a room to the other, maximizing the stereo effect. I have also put a watt meter to the power cable and when you turn off the speakers via the remote control the speakers use 0.5 watts of power in standby, or if you can be bothered there is a hard switch on the back of the active speaker that you can put into the off position which prevents any standby power being used. In summary these speakers are 66 watts in total so it's not going to ghetto blast the paint off your wall but it puts out a decent amount of decibels, enough to get your neighbors complaining but not so loud that they call the police. I like these speakers so much I may buy another pair for the lounge and sell my expensive stereo system on eBay.
I wanted to replace my old Bose computer speakers. I was never happy with their somewhat boomy and constricted sound, but limited desk space also limited my choices until Bluetooth came along. I listen to a wide variety of music, but classical—particularly orchestral—is my acid test for speakers. I'm very pleased with these: the sound is balanced, accurate, and spacious. I use them in a smallish home office (about 10X12), and they fill the room nicely. There's a subwoofer connection, but I don't think I'll be needing it. Another big plus for me is the manual tone controls. It would have been nice to have them on the remote, because I put the speakers behind me high up on a shelf, but that's a very minor quibble.
