These edifier speakers are one of my best purchases I’ve ever made at micro center. Volume and bass gets very loud, and sound quality is awesome for the price. I had $30 Logitech speakers before these, and the edifier r980 BLOW these out of the water. For $75, I don’t think you can find anything that are above these speakers. 10/10 recommended!!!

The speakers are great budget friendly options for Computer Speakers that are loud, and have some punch, it's bass isn't the worse but it isn't the best as the sound carries some heaviness but nothing to gawk at.Overall, I would grab the R1280T over these for for an extra $50 more just to get some more power, and heavier bass, but that's me being nit picky as these are great! On its own these are still computer speakers that can replace your cheaper speakers like the Pebbles or some Logitech desktop models without breaking the bank.

Good cheap powered speakers. Used them for my friend's PC, they work good and sound better than more expensive competition (like the Presonus Erie). They sound good, bass it's a bick lacky but not underpowered. For the price, can't complaint. To the person that put a 2-stars review, these are NOT bookshelf speakers. They are powered speakers, used by itself and thus NOT requiring a receiver.
Reasonable size for a desk, great sound. About the size of my head. Only thing I wish was different is the controls are on the back of unit, just for ease of use. Cables are good length, speaker wire is long, but just trim to the size needed.
These are plug & play and come with everything you need. The amp is built into one of the speakers, and you use the included speaker wire to connect both. Only one power cable for the pair of speakers. It comes with an RCA to AUX cable, so connecting them to a computer is straitforward. This is going to make a great Christmas present for someone who doesn't know about amps or audio related stuff, but wants good audio and a simple setup.I tested them first and this is a huge step above those cheap Logitech and other PC speakers in a box. Even though these are small bookshelf speakers, they're able to pump out some bass. Not super low bass, but it still has some impact. It gets loud from up close, and the treble from the silk dome tweeters is not harsh. They're no where near as clear as my studio monitors in the picture, but the person recieving these has never had bookshelf speakers.Long story short, if you're trying to get audio from your computer and want something that's actually nice to listen to music or watch videos, spend a little bit more if you can for a decent pair of bookshelf speakers like these.
These might be okay for a computer or an old CD player because they do not have standard speaker wire inputs. You input rca to one speaker (the right one) and it has volume and bass controls and then it sends the left signal to the other speaker with speaker wire. If you use this with a receiver like I tried it will frequently overdrive the speakers.
In regards to the design, they are very nice. I like it much, as well as the fact that front speaker grill can be taken off, which makes them look a lot better. And they sound better without that grill (lol). They sound OK. I expected slightly better quality from those, especially because they are connected to dedicated sound card. They might sound better if I would have an Amp. Also good amount of cabling included. One of the negative sides, is the fact that control knobs are on the rear of the speaker.Bought while on sale (39.95) otherwise wouldn't pay full price to be fair (49.99). Would look at something else.Priceless service from OCUK, as always! :)
I had been looking at these on amazon for a long time, but found them at Microcenter for less! The size isn't too obscene for use on your desk/table, they fit nicely where I want them.Soundwise, these exceeded my expectations by quite a large margin. I was not anticipating such thick sound. Since I've got them on a wood desktop, I turned the bass down (bass dial on the back of one of the speakers) to minimize vibration, and even then, the bass and mid-range are still thick. Treble is perfect right where it's at. I'm primarily listening to music while working from home, and these can fill most of the house with sound if I need them to (they get loud!).At night while gaming, I play at low volumes so I don't wake up my wife and kids, and the sound quality is still ... MoreI had been looking at these on amazon for a long time, but found them at Microcenter for less! The size isn't too obscene for use on your desk/table, they fit nicely where I want them.Soundwise, these exceeded my expectations by quite a large margin. I believe there is also a bluetooth version of these out there, should you want that option.
It has very good sound for music I listen to on my computer. I originally bought these for my T.V. sound output but not so great when hooked up to my T.V, peoples voices are still not that clear. I think more expensive speakers for a T.V would be better. So I use them on my computer instead.
