The 25-year matured Single Malt Whisky from the First Fill Bordeaux Hogshead 811, spent the same time as its sibling bottling in a wine cask and differs in alcohol content and cask number and, in a subtle way, also in taste. The whisky is part of Edradour's Ibisco Decanter series, which has been owned by Signatory founder and whisky entrepreneur Andrew Symington since 2002. Symington and his team attach great importance to producing whisky in its most original form and rely on distillation in small copper Pot Still stills, hand-selected casks and great attention to detail. The bottling for Edradour's 200th anniversary was matured in a first fill Bordeaux hogshead and, after a quarter of a century, bottled in massive and elegant decanters, the shape of which is also familiar from exclusive Signatory bottlings. The Single Malt is neither chill-filtered nor coloured directly from the cask into the decanter - just as the distillery created it. The name Ibisco was chosen because the decanters are reminiscent of the shape of a hibiscus flower.
