This blower is very good. It is approx 1/2 the weight of my petrol backpack blower and runs at about 1/2 the noise level with roughly the same amount of power. This makes it very comfortable to use. I am a professional gardener and will definitely be using this a lot. It starts immediately unlike many petrol alternatives. The battery life is fair but could be a little more (a 15 amp hr battery would be ideal) - you will definitely need a second battery if you are a commercial gardener.

This is much more powerful that our 3000W corded handheld (which was also getting too heavy for us). Our Terrace has a huge oak tree in the middle and we need to clear debris daily. This does it in 5 min. If you have a large garden with wet leaves it might not be for you as the batteries are expensive. We get 10 min off the 2.5AH which is all we need.

I loved to a new property in the National Trust in Norfolk. I was advised I need a petrol blower. After purchasing an EGO chainsaw I decided to try this product. It is awesome. I run it with a 4 & 5 amp batteries and never run out of power. I did a comparison with a neighbours Sthil petrol blower and the Ego blew it away. It moved 5 inch deep wet leaves! Also, the weight of the batter is on your back rather than in your hand.Would definitely recommend.

Light weight tool, enough power with the turbo to get stuck stuff going aswell. On lower power settings it has a decent operating time, but at higher speeds it runs out quick so its vital to reduce power when you dont need full strength. A lot less noisy then petrol alternatives. The electric engine also allows you to turn on and off with easy so you dont waste energy or create noise on stationary. It does have a slight spool up and down time so it isnt effective releasing the trigger for micro breaks. The throttle controll is managed with your thum seperate from the trigger wich maks it far easier to use compared to trying to hold a trigger perfectly still. In comparison it lacks some of the blowing power of petrol backpack blowers from stihl or husqvarna but is ... MoreLight weight tool, enough power with the turbo to get stuck stuff going aswell. It also outperforms a fair part of their handhelds and their entry level backpacks. However for prolonged highpower blowing, think the turbo function and the top two throttle settings, the easy of refueling versus changing a battery favours petrol. Mainly the need for another battery at a $500+ price tag and the need for mains power access or alternatively even more charged batteries or a mobile solar area setup make it cost prohibitive to use this on very lengthy on-site jobs. The more expensive petrol backpack blowers will easily beat them in those scenarios. Are you looking at blow runs of say 90 minutes or have access to recharging and an extra battery i highly recommend this. If you need to work your machine for multiple hours straigth it might be cheaper and less hassle to opt for a backpack petrol option.
I am blown away by the power of this product! If you have a large area to keep clean, this is the only way to do it. In boost mode, it is substantially more powerful than my (now discarded) Echo petrol backpack blower and gets the job done about 50% faster, without the noise and vibration.I bought the EGO handheld (900m3/hr) blower just last month to keep my tennis court clean and was impressed with its performance, noise level and build quality, However the backpack blower is just so much more impressive. It is a pleasure to use and the backpack design and hand grip is extremely comfortable. (Pity the design does not incorporate a left-hand option for that forgotten 12% of the population. It would not be a difficult inclusion.)Full marks to the Aussies for ... MoreI am blown away by the power of this product! If you have a large area to keep clean, this is the only way to do it. If you're going to buy a serious blower, you'll want to run it on high or boost in order to get the job done quickly, so you need a serious battery. This is my third EGO Power+ lawn & garden product purchase in recent weeks. I am switching everything to EGO because the 56volt battery design is years ahead of all the competition. Oh,and the 5/3 year warranty also helps. It's all about keeping the battery cool and EGO gets it. Brilliant technology!Hurry along and get one.
Having used petrol garden equipment over the years, and put up with their unreliability, I decided that I would give battery power a go. I did some research and found Ego Power, and once I decided on the supplier to buy from it was great to get the item delivered. I bought this blower along with the multi tool kit with the 5 AH battery and rapid charger, which I'll review separately. i also bought a 7.5 AH battery for more power. All i can say is that I used this blower for 2 full days by swapping the batteries over whilst they charged.I was able to get leaves cleared in our 1.5 acre garden, as well as twigs and sticks, and also acorns. Makes the job of keeping the drive clear easy, and i would not be without it now. Makes the job of keeping the drive clear easy, and i would not be without it now. I found that i could run it on full power (not boost) and then swap out the other battery which would be charged within the same timescale. I also found that it wasn't necessary to run it on full power all the time, as it worked well on slightly lower power too, especially on the drive.Carrying it on my back, even with the 7.5 AH battery was comfortable, and i suffered no vibration issues through my hand as i would have done with a petrol unit.My advice - get one too!
I bought the blower, unpacked it, then tried it out. It ran for 5 mins then thunk, it stopped working, I made sure the battery was charged, checked that everything was connected properly, let it sit overnight and it still didnt work. I tried several times during the next day calling the support line but no one answered, I put in a support ticket but after waiting for two days without a reply I decided to take it back to Home Depot and get my money back. Ego sure dropped the ball here!
My son purchased the EGO Power Backpack Blower for me to help with the large garden I have. I was already a very happy EGO customer with my mower and edge trimmer and the Backpack Blower met my high expectations of EGO products. It has a great ergonomic design that makes wearing and using the blower very comfortable and easy. The blower is powerful and packs a punch sufficient to handle any of the garden tidy-up jobs I'll ever need.
Think Carefully about whether this backpack will work in a smaller garden. Yes it is heavy, but the harness straps take and spread the weight. The Blower nozzle is fixed by an arm to the right with an articulated joint. So you blow from the right and cannot move it to the left hand. Also you have to walk-around objects with the nozzle vertical rather than across them. Spaces between the fence and the shrubs have to be as wide as you and the back pack, otherwise no fit!. The "slowest" speed could be even slower. When the motor has been used you get a "ping" to tell you it will not work again until it has rested. The assembly and disassembly of the blower nozzle tube is a struggle each time. not enough clearance friction and grad holds. Fantastic piece of kit ! I own a landscaping and gardening business and already own lots of Ego kit including the hand held leaf blowers but wanted to upgrade and LB6000 is the ultimate. Very powerful and flexible and easy to use for long periods on large areas. Even with the larger heavier batteries the ergonomic design of the harness makes it feel light.
