I bought this mower from my local Mitre 10 after a couple of false starts with cordless mowers bought elsewhere. It is largely preassembled. The only thing to put together is the catcher which is quite easy once you've looked at it for a couple of minutes. The mower body although made of plastic, is solid & strong. The motor is quiet & powerful. It can mulch or use a catcher. It throws the grass into the catcher properly. If I had one suggestion to make, it would be that a fixed handle on the top of the catcher running lengthwise would be better than a swinging handle mounted transversely. This would make lifting the catcher in & out easier. That being said, it's no big deal & I'm sure I will get used to it. It cuts the grass very well. Its 56v motor is powerful. ... MoreI bought this mower from my local Mitre 10 after a couple of false starts with cordless mowers bought elsewhere. It is largely preassembled. I'll only need to recharge it after every 3rd lawn mow. The telescopic handle can be easily slid in so that the mower takes up less space in storage. A plus for me. This is a high quality mower in every sense. Enjoy!I also want to give a shout out to the staff at the Mitre 10 Power Garden. They were helpful & patient. Their focus was in helping me get what I needed. Great team!

Made life much easier, no issues with starting, less noise and no petrol fumes. We like our lawn relatively short and this does a great job, super easy to operate on our flat lawn. Lawns get done way more regularly now due to ease of operation. We used to live on a 900sm section with a decent slope on the front and back, our flatty who did the lawns switched from petrol to the self propelled mower - life changing. Would recommend both mowers, depending on your lawn size. contour.

I bought this mower and battery (kit) for a second property. My primary mower had been a petrol powered Groundsman cylinder reel mower. My lawn is around 400m2 and completely flat. This Ero mower is game changer because it is so light weight it's really easy to move around. It's basically all plastic. I've stopped using the reel mower and now only use the electric mower. I like the adjustable height which is perfect for cutting tall grass if I've missed a few weeks, then I drop the mower height and mow again for a perfect finish. If I knew how good this machine was I would have bought the larger size with the wider cut diameter. The mower stops if you let go of the handle which is a safety feature I love. It also folds up to fit inside the back of a car. Highly ... MoreI bought this mower and battery (kit) for a second property. I googled and heard this electric mower is powerful and reliable. Yup agree this is a good mower and very quiet. I got a decent lawn size and the battery allows me to finish the whole lawn. With the slop and if you pht the mower down to the lowest, this stops because this is not powerful as petrol mower but still good enough. No smell, no noise. Easy to use
I bought this mower 3 years ago and it seemed to function okay for the first year. Then I started to have problems with recharging the battery. I put this down to the fact that the battery releases its charge if not used for a while and also will not recharge after use if too warm. The battery failed completely just before the 3 year warranty ended this year and was replaced free of charge. Two and a half months later the charger stopped working and, because it is now just outside the warranty, the company will not replace it or provide any recompense, even though I stated quite clearly that the battery and charger had not been operating properly for a long time. I am unable to recommend this EGO mower based on the unreliability and poor quality of the battery and ... MoreI bought this mower 3 years ago and it seemed to function okay for the first year. I bought this just over a month ago and qualified for a free battery - a handy bonus. I’ve owned plenty of mowers over the years - from an old style push hand mower to a ride on - and both petrol and cordless ones. Obviously the ride on wins for ease of use, but for a regular sized town section (800m2), this cordless EGO has plenty of power, and it’s light and very simple to use which is good for me. I looked at a lot of mowers before deciding on this one. I don’t usually write reviews but this mower has exceeded my expectations. I’m very happy with my purchase and am considering buying more of the cordless EGO products as a result. If I had to find one wrong thing with it I wish the catcher had a handle on the backside of it so you can get a good grip on it when ... MoreI bought this just over a month ago and qualified for a free battery - a handy bonus. This mower was part of an exhange with mitre10, we had another brand of battery mower that died, and they offered to credit the cost as a replacement was not available. So i paid a ittle more and got this. The battery life is good, it easily gets through a 700sqm section at least once a week. Certainly if you leave the lawns too long then it does seem to be more of a challenge. The lights are an interesting add on, it doesn't seem to me to be a terribly clever or safe idea to mow in the dark, but there you go, if you want to risk life and limb, well you can do it to ambient LED lights on this machine. Where is fails in my opinion is height, even on its lowest setting the grass is too long, it could easily be half what it is, and it seems to me that this means I end ... MoreThis mower was part of an exhange with mitre10, we had another brand of battery mower that died, and they offered to credit the cost as a replacement was not available. Where is fails in my opinion is height, even on its lowest setting the grass is too long, it could easily be half what it is, and it seems to me that this means I end up having to mow twice a week to keep the lawns looking tidy - and no one wants to mow there lawns twice a week. The build is plastic, everywhere, besides the blades, which seems fine. It says on their website to never host it, but i do because getting damp grass off is otherwise improssible - remove the battery, close the lid and cross your fingers I suppose. Overall its not a bad mower at all, the battery life if good, its biggest and perhaps most fundamental flaw is it simply doesn't cut the grass low enough.
Have had this Ego for a year now and only have a small lawn but with pretty vigorous lawn growth. Previous to this I had a cheap electric mower (Jobmate) from Mitre 10 for 5 plus years. It died, but had always been a great mower.Thought we would go to a better quality mower this time and loved the mulch option. Our first issue was a faulty battery/charger problem after 1 use, easily rectified by a replacement from Mitre 10. But overall, I find this mower absolutely gutless. Even with moderate grass growth and the mower on a high cut, the mower constantly cuts out. Reading some of the other reviews, Im wondering if we are even talking about the same mower! Would never buy another one. If it didnt cost $800< I would have thrown it out by now!
I have been using the lawn mower since 2019. Now is the good time to make a real review of this product. Overall, I like it because low noise, no messy fuel, low weight and strong cutting blades. Safety features are very well covered. However, the machine needs several improvements: First, charging the battery is a real messy process! I have got to be with the machine whilst charging goes on. Every now and then it stops charging (red light on battery) where I have to switch it off, loosen the battery from the charging unit followed by reversing above steps to get back on to charging. Second, the cut is not smooth. This is more so when I move a sloping land. I can see that the cut is rather smooth on a flat lawn. This is the point that is mostly disliked by me compared to my former petrol mower. Third, I can barely move my 100 sq meter lawn on a full charge. If I use the lowest cut position, can't move my lawn even on a full battery charge. Fourth, beware of rust under the deck. Product details state anti-rust which is not true.
11 months after purchase, and after 4 months of no use during winter, the mower has sprung a fault and no longer starts. A loose connection. EGO have so far shown no real interest or urgency in helping get this fixed. It was great when it worked, though. Also note that the batteries do not hold their charge over a couple of months of no use, flat as a pancake.
