Einhell TE-AG 18 Li - Solo Angle Grinder 115 mm

(931 reviews)

The Einhell cordless angle grinder TE-AG 18/115 Li – Solo is the lightest angle grinder in its class and features a robust aluminium gearing housing. It is a member of the Power X-Change family, so the batteries with the high-grade lithium-ion cells can be used for all members of the Power X-Change family. The battery and charger are available separately, for example as a high-performance starter set. For optimum cutting, grinding and roughing results it is recommended that a 2.6 Ah Plus battery or higher is used. Thanks to the softstart function and restart safeguard, the angle grinder starts up smoothly and is safer to use. With its slimline design with ergonomic soft grip and the additional handle which can be fitted in three available positions, the tool offers comfortable handling. The modified air guidance ensures optimum cooling of the tool and low strain on the gearing during operation. The disc guard comes with a quick-adjust facility which can be adapted with just a twist of the hand to any task. An overload cut-out contributes to greater safety and a longer service life. Supplied without a cutting disc.

Einhell cordless angle grinder

This is a solid, well made tool at a reasonable price. While not having the power of a mains grinder, it is very useful for those small jobs where you can't be bothered dragging
out an extension cable. If you use a 1mm cutting disc it will improve the cutting capacity of the grinder considerably . The grinder will accept a full range of cutting and
grinding discs and wire brushes of the appropriate size. The safety overload feature is useful and prevents the grinder from being over stressed. The nature of the tool makes
it power hungry, so you are better going for the 3 amp hour battery and, if you can afford it, buy two! On the occasions when I have needed to use the grinder it ... Show more

For the money, this is an excellent grinder. It has plenty of power, three different handle positions and the locknut spanner stores neatly inside the handle. It's great to use
and does the job very well. I've used it on dense concrete blocks and on steel with no problems. The Power X-Change system is brilliant.

Got this about month ago, and was working fine. Last week, it stopped functioning as it should as the power switch is playing up. The switch has gone stiff, and doesn't turn on
every time, resulting in me boxing it up and taking it back when I get time this week. Its a shame as I love Einhell products and always found them reliable, but this has let the
side down completely. Hopefully a replacement will be given, we will see.

On the occasions when I have needed to use the grinder it has performed well, but do remember, it is not designed to do thing like cut 500mm along 20mm steel plate. It is a tool for those occasions when you need to quickly cut off a rusty bolt or trim a piece of thin plate steel. However if you're lying under a car and need to cut off an exhaust bracket or the like then it is ideal. Like any mains angle grinder it can be a dangerous beast so read the instructions carefully.... Show more

Looks and feels good, how misleading it was.
12 February 2018
Bought this and 3 x 3Ah batteries a month ago, only bought it for the occasional light use if away from a mains power supply and not being able to use a mains powered grinder. I needed to cut a piece of 1/16th thick brass plate to make a bracket so I thought perfect opportunity to try the tool out. What a big disappointment it was, the slightest pressure and it cut out and need to be restarted, no torque at all, utterly useless. The machine is at an affordable price but a complete waste of money. The electronic cut-out needs modifying to stop the machine from cutting out when only using the slightest of pressure when try to cut anything. Online reviews were read and gave a varied oppinion of this machine so I have only myself to blame for buying it.... Show more

Not the most powerful but does the job well
9 November 2021
This is my first cordless grinder and as i already have many of the batteries from other tools i thought I'd go for the easy option. I do metal work (welding mainly) and needed a cordless grinder to have some freedom in the workshop. This one does very well, i on;y want someone to take the edges off sharp corners and grind down welds and this has the power and speed to do this well. It also does a good job at polishing surfaces with abrasive. I'd not use this to cut through thick rods or angle steel as i don't think it would be the cut particulatly fast but that's what corded grinders are for.... Show more

Ok, but not great
9 September 2022
Perfectly functional, however, I give it only an average rating for two reasons. Firstly, the body is quite a large diameter and therefore a little difficult to hold if you don't have gorilla hands. Secondly, as mentioned in other reviews, the switch is a very poor design and I absolutely know that it will be a problem with use. However it is a good buy if you manage to bag one with the free battery and charger offer.... Show more

Twice the Grinder as the previous model!
25 March 2020
I have the brushed version of this grinder which Is Not a patch on this one. Unlike the brushed version the brushless does not stall at the slightest pressure and rotates much faster! The grinder is also lighter to handle due to the motor being smaller but yet with more power. I would advise the use of the highest amp batteries you can afford otherwise you will be charging them every couple of minutes! The handle stores the nut key which is also a good idea.... Show more

Unsafe for cutting applications?
22 July 2020
Out of the box, machine looks and feels good. With 2.0ah battery it takes about 3 seconds to run up to speed (whereas my 240v corded grinder gets to speed almost instantaneously, but with more of a 'kick' as it starts). However, the data sheet and instructions repeatedly emphasize this item is not safe for cutting without a cutting guard, but that is not supplied with the machine (part no. 44.500.40) and is presently unavailable/out of stock from Einhell service, although priced at c. £15-18 incl.del. There is no picture to show how 44.500.40 differs from the guard that is in the box: looking at other Einhell angle grinder cutting guards it seems likely to include a part guard for the underside of the (cutting) disk, although Fig 12 in the instructions depicts a ... MoreOut of the box, machine looks and feels good. Well designed & engineered, competitively priced.
20 April 2021
Quite a physically large device, compared with a 230V small angle-grinder, but not unreasonably heavy, even with the 4 amp-hours Einhell battery (from my lawn-mower!!) fitted. The on-off switch is a little awkward to use with safety-gloved hands, but once engaged is positive but also sensitive enough to knock-off easily. The soft-start is very effective, and the auto-shut-off is very effective and not too intrusive - impressive. A neat touch is the disk-fitting tool housed always at-hand (literally!!) in the handle, and the shaft-lock button is easy to use. Cutting-power is very adequate, and life is up to how good your batteries are! I have 2 x 4AH from my lawn-mower, so NEVER run out of power in the field!!... Show more

Well made, very handy
13 February 2018
Initially bought to use somewhere with no mains supply, but can see it being very handy as an occasional grab and go tool when it's not worth trailing cables around.Reassuringly heavy, feels as mechanically robust as a mains unit, and a nice shape to hold.Soft start means zero kickback, overload cutout encourages you to make straight, flat cuts and means you have to let the disc do the work instead of trying to force it. Also means it won't kick back if it grabs an edge, and unlikely to ever shatter a disc unless you're clumsy.Easy to adjust guard with quick release latch, sturdy handle which also holds the disc change spanner.Overall very pleased. More power than expected but you have to understand it's never going to be a match for a 240v unit in terms of ... MoreInitially bought to use somewhere with no mains supply, but can see it being very handy as an occasional grab and go tool when it's not worth trailing cables around.Reassuringly heavy, feels as mechanically robust as a mains unit, and a nice shape to hold.Soft start means zero kickback, overload cutout encourages you to make straight, flat cuts and means you have to let the disc do the work instead of trying to force it.
