Electrolux 425L Right Hinge Bottom Mount Fridge - Silver

Same brand, and very similar to the model I had previously. Very roomy, which is what I want, why drink rack takes up too much room so I removed it allowing me more space. Some other plastic fittings are a bit too cheap. I like the extra Drawer, which is seemingly for smelly items, but can be just used for storing anything really. Comes out way too easily, ice cubes ended up on the floor first time, apparently like most fridges these days the door once opened does not close fully automatically but only halfway then has to be manually closed fully , this is okay sometimes when it items are being replaced quickly, but not when they are not.

I love my new Electrolux fridge even more than my previous one. Energy efficiency is important specially in winter as I run my house on a batteries stored and stand alone solar power system. The motor runs very quietly.I very much like having my freezer at the bottom , I also like all the shelving and drawers and the great quality. Also good to have a handle on the outside as it makes it much easier to wipe down the finger prints .

I like the fridge with it's design but the dark stainless steel is quite delicate as I found out when the service person came to adjust the hinges and the pliers slipped leaving a dent and scratch in the side of the door. The shelving being glass is quite thin and bows slightly when under only moderate weight. I do not think heavy cast iron or stoneware containers would hold up on this style of shelving. The shelves in the door are quite thin plastic and when I take milk bottles out of the shelf there is a lot of creaking so I do not know how long the shelving will last. I am used to a fridge with shelving made from plastic coated wire where they make the fridge more robust and long lasting and heavy items can be stored without any worry of breakage. At this price point I thought the quality of materials would have been stronger and more durable. When looking at the fridge in a showroom you don't realize how it is going to perform until you start using it and realize there are flaws. It is quiet to run but I have not seen a reduction in my energy use considering it has a 4.5 star energy rating.
